United said it will turn to 777 and 787 to meet its capacity needs.

I personally will love flying the 777 but will avoid the 787 completely. Some of you may know why already.

The first ever produced 747 -"City of Everett" - 747-100 flying alongside the brand new (first produced) #Boeing 747-400 over Seattle in 1988

The first ever 747 flight took place on February 9, 1969, and the 747 was certified in December of that year. It entered service with Pan Am on January 22, 1970. This aircraft, N7470 looks almost brand-new  at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

Tagged with the MSN 20235 and Line Number RA001, the first Boeing 747 ever built was a -100 variant testbed registered N7470. The jumbo jet prototype rolled off the production lines on September 30th, 1968, and was fitted with four Pratt & Whitney JT9D-3A engines (and then JT9D-7A) high-bypass ratio turbofan engines (preserved at the Museum of Flight at BFI since 2003)

On January 26, 1988, the first 747-400 rolled out at the Everett factory, while the first 737-400 rolled out at Boeing's Renton factory on the same day, marking the first double jetliner rollout in the manufacturer's history.

The first 747-400 (N661US) was delivered to launch customer Northwest Airlines (Preserved at Delta Flight Museum since April 30, 2016)
