  6. Too bad they cannot repair that red Telsa convertible that is on its way to Mars orbit, the batteries were supposed to last 12 hours to send pictures back to Earth, but they only lasted four hours. I don't think AAA covers those types of electrical problems. Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster and Starman on the way to Mars!.mp4
  7. Elon Musk is well known for trying to disrupt old industries. He builds spacefaring rockets in-house and makes them reusable, dramatically lowering the cost to leave Earth. He showed electric vehicles can be made and sold in large quantities, because if they’re fun to drive, people will want to buy them. But when the question of batteries was raised on a Tesla earnings call in the summer of 2017, Musk asked for help: “Can someone please come up with a battery breakthrough? We’d love it.” Musk was being a little facetious — he and Tesla CTO JB Straubel had just been asked about then-recent news that Toyota was reportedly in the “production engineering phase” of an electric car powered by a still relatively unproven technology: solid-state batteries. https://www.theverge.com/2018/8/16/17695866/henrik-fisker-solid-state-batteries-electric-cars

    Tesla Survives!

The Tesla shareholders meeting was yesterday, and let's just say...Elon Musk knows how to give a performance. After dodging proposals that would dethrone him from his role as chairman (yes, not everyone is a Musk fanatic), he put on a teary-eyed show and expressed just how hard Tesla works to be great: Some employees supposedly have worked 60 days straight and had to be forced home. And how about that disappointing Model 3 production? Tesla just made 3,500 cars per week and is aiming for 5,000 by month's end. Moving forward? Expect Tesla to hit profitability in Q3 and Q4. Bottom line: Tesla's been under the spotlight this year. But major shareholders are still betting on Musk to turn things around.
  9. I think these are the same flamethrowers Holiday Inn uses in their bathrooms, before they put that band of paper on the toilet seat that says "Sanitized for Your Protection".
  10. The one good thing is that flamethrowers were not involved.
  11. Technology Is Incredible: Tesla Model 3 Edition Wondering why Tesla (+2.81%) is valued like a tech company? Here’s one reason. May 23: Consumer Reports (CR) did not recommend the Tesla Model 3 in part because of poor braking performance (taking more distance to stop than a Ford F-150). Musk told CR he'd fix the issue. Only one week later: CR tested the Model 3 again and found that the car's braking distance improved by 19 ft. That's enough for a stamp of approval. So...what happened? Tesla sent an over-the-air software update that—once downloaded—improved braking performance on its high-tech vehicle. Mic drop, from CR's head of auto testing: "I've been at CR for 19 years and tested more than 1,000 cars...and I've never seen a car that could improve its track performance with an over-the-air update."
  12. The towed container was on STEEL RAILS ... with steel wheels on steel rails. ... and an extremely flat surface. Anyone not familiar with the physics concept of "rolling resistance" will be impressed. Any modern car with an automatic transmission should be able to do that .... even the little French cars whose horns go "heunk! heunk!".
