Will.i.am's custom Tesla Model S is perfectly hideous
by Guest Nicole- 0 replies

Last weekend, Will.i.am's customized and heavily modified Tesla Model S was spotted street-parked in Beverly Hills. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on your aesthetic sensibilities) for us, someone captured a walk-around video of the thing. From the detailed video shot in the dark, we can see that the rear doors have been made into rear-hinged suicide doors. However, they still retain the stock handles that extend as the driver gets near. http://mashable.com/2016/08/30/will-i-am-tesla-model-s/#dMH6UNAmy5qb

An exterior view of a Tesla showroom in Corte Madera, California, on April 4, 2016. JUSTIN SULLIVAN/GETTY IMAGES ELON MUSK, A man not known for subtlety or lack of ambition, has a plan to dominate the transportation sector. He doesn’t call it that, of course. He gave it the far more benign name Master Plan, Part Deux. Beyond creating a vertically integrated company that builds electric vehicles, batteries to store the power to propel them, and the solar panels to generate that power, he wants to create whole new vehicle lineups. Some of them sound like they’re in advanced stages of development. The plan, which Musk posted to the Tesla Motors blog on We…

Tesla Says Model 3 Orders Top $10 Billion in First 36 Hours
by Guest Nicole- 0 replies
Tesla Motors Inc. said orders for its new Model 3 electric sedan topped 253,000 in the first 36 hours -- a fast start for the company's first mass-market vehicle, which may not begin to reach customers for another 18 months or more. Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk tweeted on Friday that the Model 3, which is slated to go into production in late 2017, will sell at an average price of $42,000, including the price of options and additional features, which would give the initial flurry of orders an estimated retail value of $10.6 billion. That intense interest, fanned in part by a steady stream of tweets by Musk, could help boost Tesla's stock price, which closed Fr…

Tesla Model 3 exceeds 130,000 preorders

As the new Tesla Model 3 electric car was unveiled last week, hundreds of people in Montreal lined up to make a $1,000 deposit to reserve one of the cars. Montrealer Guillaume Tardif stood in line for three hours in the rain outside the Tesla dealership on 5350 Ferrier Street. Despite being caught in the bad weather, Tardif said it was worth the wait. "We weren't prepared for this weather. We thought they would set up tents or something instead of making us freeze," he said. 'We're buying a dream'- Guillaume Tardif, Soon-to-be Tesla owner "I worry if I wait too long that we won't get the government incentives. If this becomes a mass market car like the…

Here's how you can order a Tesla Model 3
by Guest Nicole- 0 replies

On March 31, Tesla will finally give the public its first look at the hotly anticipated Model 3. Considering its presumed $35,000 MSRP will fall well below $30,000 after incentives, it's within the realm of affordability for many Americans. In the event you've come into money in the last 17 seconds while sitting on this page, or have never visited Tesla's website, here's how you can order a Tesla Model 3. You can order one of two ways -- on Tesla's website, or in person at a Tesla store. Tesla spokeswoman Khobi Brooklyn told us that online reservations open up at 8:30 p.m. Pacific on March 31, and in-person reservations start earlier that day, at 10 a.m. Pacific…

The Tesla Model X just so happens to be the fastest SUV ever; not just American SUV; not just electric SUV—the Model X P90D’s combined (available) horsepower of over 530 from its front and rear motors meeting a claimed 0 to 60 time of just 3.2 seconds makes it the fastest sport utility vehicle ever made. But how does it compare to its equally fully-electric mind-blowing sibling, the Model S P90D (which sits on the same platform)?

http://fortune.com/2016/02/17/tesla-referral-program-home-charging/ Tesla’s latest referral program began Tuesday and runs through April 15. Customers who purchase a Model S through a unique referral link and take delivery by April 15 will receive a $1,200 credit towards the cost of installing a home EV charger applied to the purchase price. The credit should cover the bulk of the cost to install home charging. The company recommends installing a NEMA 14-50 outlet or a Tesla Wall Connector, a hard-wired charging station, to prepare for home charging. The average NEMA 14-50 installation is between $1,000 and $2,000, according to Tesla. The Wall Connector costs $7…

An all-electric Tesla truck! As for the second project, Elon Musk gave away this secret back in October, when he unwittingly tweeted about a “Model Y.” He was quick to delete that Tweet. But his followers managed to get a screenshot in time. (Source: “Elon Musk just teased the Model Y in a tweet (which he immediately deleted),” The Verge, October 6, 2015.) We may not know much about the car’s design or its launch date yet, but it’s certain that another car is in the pipeline after the “Model 3.” If not trucks, this is definitely where Tesla will find traction with EV enthusiasts. After all, premium electric cars are Tesla’s true economic moat. http://www.pr…
