The Bible says that Earth has been given to the sons of men. Obviously the phrase "the vicnity of the Earth" includes the Earth's Moon, because mankind has been there many times. By extension it seems clear that Satan's influence would extend to the Moon, and by further extension throughout the Solar System, and by even further extension ... the entire physical Universe. The logic is inescapable ... So ... now that we have a better understanding of what the Universe REALLY consists of, how are we to understand humanity's role in colonizing it? Is Mars destined to be forever a planet of Robots ... or will it eventually be shared with the sons of m…

I saw on another forum that Dean Songer, long-time NY Bethel heavy, just passed away and was in his 90s. Does anyone have further info on this? Everyone saw hm as a truly spiritual, loving brother, approachable and sincere, something sometimes lacking at HQ.

I was in conversation with an elder last week (or maybe two weeks ago) and I don't quite know how we got onto the topic but we started talking about suicide. I was a bit surprised when he said "But don't commit suicide or you will not get a resurrection". I was wondering where exactly this information comes from. Having recovered from the shock, I have since emailed this elder and got no response. I have looked on JW Org and read a couple of older articles on there, but they seemed to say that it is or was not their place to judge, which i agree with. So, is there 'new light' on the subject of suicide ? If so where does this new light come from ? And what scri…

I'm interested to know people's ideas about our judgement. Yes I know most of you 'dislike' me and you always presume i have wrong motives, but i do like to learn from others or at least consider the opinions of others. I think we are being judged now on a day to day basis. Some on here have said that i have been condemned already . We are surely being watched ? JWs used to think they were being watched over on the ministry. I wonder if they think they are being watched over whilst writing hundreds of letters ? @xero mentioned the 'good Samaritan' and related it to apostates. Jesus was only sent to the 'lost tribe of the house of Israel', but…

How dare publishers attempt suicide ! Clearly, they should be threatened with being disfellowshipped. Jehovah's congregation needs to be kept clean from people who try to kill themselves. This is a fork from an earlier thread:

Recently, the expressions of a circuit overseer prompted a “PIMO” elder (meaning physically still “in” the organization, but mentally “out”) to share his thoughts on the overseer’s sixty-minute talk. He jotted down the frequency of these words he heard during the talk - governing body, Jehovah, Jesus, God, love. He created the pie chart below exposing the shocking narcissism of false prophets in a governing position, overtly setting their unauthorized rulership above that of Jesus Christ. (Matt 24:24,25; Luke 22:24-27; 2 Tim 3:1-8; Rev 13:11-14) What is the chance of a co-rulership of unfaithful anointed “kings of the earth” (“ten horns”) and the Beast/body of…

The truth about John 1:1 has been long hidden from the masses. Why is learning this scripture vital to your spiritual health? Because words matter! In Greek there are two different words for God. Also, using a definite article emphasizes the subject spoken about. First instance is ton theon which means the God and the second instance is theos which means a god. How does John 1:1 read with a literal translation? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with the God, and a god was the Word.” Jesus is never referred to as the theon because Jesus was begotten and came into existence. Therefore, the Apostle John used the nominative title theos which mean…

“For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.” Joel 3:1,2 I wanted to get a physical picture in my mind of what the Bible’s “Valley of Jehoshaphat” really looked like. That is easier said than done, since some historians believe that its true location could be in a valley called Barach…

The Faithful and Discreet Slave... In response to the apostles questions concerning Jesus Christ's future and second presence during the conclusion of the system of things, Jesus Christ gave an illustration, dealing with a “faithful and discreet slave.” The master would appoint his steward over his household servants also known as his domestics, heavenly and earthly. Since the full limit of the appointed times was yet in the future and is still in progress, we can now apply that administration to the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, also known as the Faithful and Discreet Slave. We now know through the manifestation of prophecies that the full limit of the …

"I don't like the way he touches me." That is how Emily described her abuse to elders at the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall she attended in Loughborough. Emily (not her real name) was eight-years-old and the man she accused was a mini…

https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/resign/ Yes. A person can resign from our organization in two ways: By formal request. Either orally or in writing, a person can state his decision that he no longer wants to be known as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. By action. A person can take an action that places him outside our worldwide brotherhood. (1 Peter 5:9) For example, he might join another religion and make known his intention to remain part of it.—1 John 2:19. But be careful because Elders will still pretend you were disfellowshipped What if a person no longer preaches or attends your meetings? Do you view that pers…

A good park or backcountry trail could be compared to a smooth highway accessible for every vehicle’s use. Over the years, my husband shared with me the necessary building techniques needed to create a user-friendly hiking trail. His skills enhanced the user’s experience with nature; balancing the need to care for the environment, while also keeping in mind the goal of the hiker. He had the ability to deftly and carefully merge what nature had to offer, by creating a trail that would lead one to experience it. Good techniques limit the need for maintenance, yet maintenance is ultimately scheduled, to check erosion, for the removal of downed trees, and removal of an…

The sealing of the 144,000 is at hand... "Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the undeserved kindness meant for you made a diligent inquiry and a careful search. They kept on investigating what particular time or what season the spirit within them was indicating concerning Christ as it testified beforehand about the sufferings meant for Christ and about the glory that would follow. It was revealed to them that they were ministering, not to themselves, but to you, regarding what has now been announced to you by those who declared the good news to you with holy spirit sent from heaven. Into these very things, angels are desiring to p…

This story is still getting coverage on the news. (It was usually reported that a Chinese tennis player had accused a high-ranking Chinese government official of sexual assault and then suspiciously "disappeared.") Yesterday, I heard the same story repeated on our local NPR news station and there was an interview with a representative of the WTA (Women's Tennis Association) saying they would pull out of China for all the final tournaments because even though they have spoken with her and she confirms she is OK, they don't think she is "really" OK. That wording sounded oddly typical, but I could understand a legitimate concern for such a person, too, just as I would …

The Good News of God's Kingdom... Preaching the Good News of God's Kingdom in Satan's World often brings a hostile and violent reaction from the unfaithful and lawless one. If this is how they react when the Good News of God's Kingdom is declared, how do you think they will react to the final message of divine destruction is delivered? Soon, those who reject the Good News will have no recourse. Gog of Magog... Gog of Magog in the Book of Ezekiel represents Satan's Entire Political system of things. It is Pre- Millennial. Once the Great Tribulation starts, Jesus separates the sheep and goats and then he turns his attention towards Satan's Entire Political system of things. Christ Millennial Reign actually begins at Armageddon, the Revelation Phase of his Presence. You can study the three phases of Christ Return to help with Spiritual Insight. Satan's Earthly Organization has many facets and allies that work in its behalf to starve, maim, and kill anyone who refuses to receive its mark. "It puts under compulsion all people—the small and the…

How were Jehovah's Witnesses taught in 1941 about Armageddon? And marriage/children? Does that remind you of 1975? Or of some periods of time in JW teachings before and after these years? Don’t be bored and find it difficult to review the statements written in the main magazine The Watchtower, the 1941 edition. And the newly published book of the same year by the President of the Society, Judge Rutherford. The book is called Children. The author dedicated this book, as well as many others, to the Creator. Today, after such a long time lag, we may ask, could all these doctrines and teachings have been accepted by the Creator to whom they were dedicated? And we may as…

Questions From Readers ● Second Peter 3:10 says: “Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a hissing noise, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be discovered.” What does this text mean? Are not the physical heavens and earth a permanent part of God’s creation?—U.S.A. In determining the significance of the apostle Peter’s statement, we must remember that the terms “heavens” and “earth” often do not designate the physical heavens and earth, which are an abiding part of God’s creation. (Ps. 104:5) A notable example of this are the words of Isaiah 13:13 regarding the day of Je…

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. So occasionally these verses make me ponder if this ball of water existed for a long time, always existed, etc. before the act of creation. And I can't help but wonder if this is in any way related…

From the book, “Judgment Day Must Wait”, by Poul Bregninge, comes this comment from an active elder at the time of his interview: “For me it is the organization itself that is the big villain. It has quietly, through 125 years, had its own independent life. In its pure youth, we could perhaps connect the activities with a degree of sincerity, but it has since grown too big and strong, and all humility is gone. It has been immensely self-satisfied and even forgotten to serve its supporters. Instead, it sits on a throne, from which it requires unconditional obedience of its often fanatically loyal subjects. Most Jehovah’s Witnesses have quietly become accust…
