A Jehovah's Witness was attacked by her husband who feared she was going to cancel Christmas, a court has heard. Jason Mortimore struck his wife Rachael in the face three times with a magazine before burning her Bible and other religious documents in a garden incinerator. Mortimore, 46, admitted racially aggravated assault and criminal damage at Exeter magistrates court yesterday (TUES). He was fined a total of £666 but the court did not impose a restraining order on him. The court heard that the couple had been married for 12 years and have three children. In November Mortimore saw that his wife, who "has returned to her faith of Jehovah Witness", ha…

Some participants here may recall the utter shock of what our JW friends suffered in Malawi. The persecution was horrendous. It was all over a document known as an MCP party card. How many here have ever held one in their hand to look it over and see what it is? JWs of the time were under the impression that, as it was quoted in our publications, "they can give their allegiance only to Jehovah God and his kingdom". (Ref https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1968081?q=they+can+give+their+allegiance+only+to+Jehovah+God+and+his+kingdom&p=par#h=16 ) Under that impression, JWs in Malawi were refusing to obtain the MCP party card.

Elon Musk recently opined that what makes things funny is that they have a “revealed truth” in order to be funny. Something that everybody “knows”, but never thought about. I agree with this. The Babylon Bee is a religiously oriented web site that excoriates EVERYBODY, but one might suspect favors Jehovah’s Witnesses only because they seem to have the same clear vision of “Core Truths” that JWs have. They have produced a series of five short YouTube video clips about “Californians Move To Texas” that has MANY subtle screamingly funny “revealed truths”. Well worth the time to watch at least three times each, if for no other reason than understanding what m…

Over the years I have immensely enjoyed the continuous religious satire of “The Babylon Bee”, as they have excoriated and sometimes figuratively disemboweled Catholics, Baptists, Mormons, and Mega churches, the idea of a burning hell, and doctrines galore. Today, it was Jehovah’s Witnesses turn, and it was painfully funny! I had to ask ChatGBT what a “J-Dub” was, because I thought it was an insulting term. Then I had to think about that answer until it made sense ChatGBT: “The term "J-Dub" likely originated as a casual and abbreviated way for people to refer to Jehovah's Witnesses. It's a combination of the letter "J" from Jehovah and "Dub" from the "W" in…

After these things I heard something like the loud sound of a great crowd in heaven saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,” (Rev 19:1 LEB) Trinitarians falsely proclaim that God has No Name Trinitarians falsely proclaim that God’s Name cannot be found in the Greek or NT Jesus’ Name when translated means ‘Jehovah is Salvation’ John’s Name when translated means ‘Jehovah has been Gracious’ Matthew’s Name when translated means “Gift of Jehovah’ So they are many Names that Have Jehovah in them in the Greek! Jesus – John – Matthew – to list a few. The divine name appears in its abbreviated form in the Chr…

But Thomas, one of the Twelve, who was called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples were telling him: “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them: “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, I will never believe it.” Well, eight days later his disciples were again indoors, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and he stood in their midst and said: “May you have peace.” Next he said to Thomas: “Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop doubting but believe.” In answer Thoma…

Cryosupernatant plasma (also known as cryo-poor plasma, cryoprecipitate depleted [or reduced] plasma) is a product rendered from blood that is left to individual JWs to accept or decline purely as a personal choice. For whatever reason(s), cryosupernatant plasma has never been mentioned in our publications addressing use of products rendered from blood. This despite cryoprecipitate plasma finding ready reference in the general search bar at jw.org. Medical use of cryosupernatant plasma is said to have markedly improved medical outcomes for JWs who accept it, and particularly for those suffering from acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). In this…

I just read that Shinzo Abe's alleged killer assassinated Abe (2020) because he thought that Abe had ties to the Unification Church (aka "Moonies") and because the killer's mother had given so much money to the church that he says it brought his family to ruin. This reminded me to ask if anyone here knows if there is any evidence for the rumors that the killer/murderer who shot and killed so many Witnesses in Hamburg was also angry that he had given so much money (millions?) to the Witnesses before becoming disillusioned. (Someone said that he had asked for his contribution back and was refused.)

Many Countries offer Social Benefits to their citizens to give them a helping hand. These Benefits were meant to be given for a limited time. Those precious benefits will come to an abrupt end as the Political Kings of the earth turn against the World of False Religion to confiscate and plunder her Wealth. Look! I am about to throw her into a sickbed, and those committing adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds. (Rev 2:22) And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues. (Rev 18:4) “And the k…

The ‘International Bible Students’ . . . have been proclaiming to the world that the Day of Wrath prophesied in the Bible would dawn in 1914.” It is a historical fact worth noting that, on the basis of the points and evidence above presented, the March 1880 edition of the Watch Tower magazine identified the year 1914 as the time for the close of “the appointed times of the nations” (and the end of the lease of power granted the Gentile rulers). This was some 34 years before the arrival of that year and the momentous events it initiated. In the August 30, 1914, edition of The World, a leading New York newspaper at that time, a feature article in the paper’s Sund…

The Ruler of this World will have reached his Pinnacle to have his Nations united in cause to spew mankind’s Biggest Lie of Propaganda that the world has ever heard. Satan has offered these nations of his kingdom/governments to Jesus Christ some 2,000 years ago, if only Jesus would simply do an act of worship towards him. What was Jesus’ response to Satan? Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’” (Matt 4:10) The Bible calls Jesus Christ the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God at (Rev 3:14). Ever since 1914 the Bib…

I listened to the PR representative of JWorg in India who was interviewed after the explosions at the Congress in which 3 people were killed and many wounded. Several things stand out. -He, Joshua David, says that JWs love the country they live in. He says; "We love India". This is the first time I have heard such a thing from the mouth of a JW. Saying it publicly like this speaks about a new twist on WTJWorg public policy and propaganda. -He says that the core messages when JWs preach is to explain to people why there is so much suffering and why God allows suffering. On the contrary, according to the JWorg page, it is said that one message is core, and that …

In June, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Australasia, which oversees 170 New Zealand congregations, filed for a judicial review to exempt itself from the inquiry, arguing it does not have historical abuse cases within the inquiry's scope. https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/497240/jehovah-s-witness-church-spends-3-years-fighting-scrutiny-of-royal-commission-of-inquiry The High Court in Wellington has dismissed a legal bid by the church to be excluded from the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care. https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/500982/jehovah-s-witness-bid-to-be-excluded-from-abuse-inquiry-dismissed 25 October 202…

Today, there is an ongoing investigation into a blast that occurred at the Jehovah's Witnesses assembly in India. I can't describe my feelings very well about something I just learned. I seriously don't know how to handle this issue. A couple days ago, I made a post in the area of this forum about the blood doctrine. While writing that post, it reminded me that I have been holding on to a couple of questions about the ins and outs of the doctrine, more specifically about why we now accept just about 100% of the products that are made from blood. It's true that we don't accept "whole blood" transfusions, but "whole blood" transfusions are so rarely offered any more that even the word "transfusion" has come to refer to to several blood therapies that JWs regularly accept. Any…

The Bible is full of descriptions of events/deeds that are repeated in various human actions and in all time periods. The Bible is considered a religious literature that should help religious people to know the relationship between themselves and God in which everything should work well if people find answers to questions about how God should be worshipped. There are always individuals and groups who are convinced that they know the answers to such questions. The JWs and their organization, colloquially called WTJWorg, are at the forefront of this. Throughout their history, they have strongly accused other religions of being false and controlled by Satan. For some ti…

"The post you provided appears to be a question or statement from someone expressing confusion or frustration about why people would go to extreme lengths to falsify theories or make false claims, especially when they have locked posts. They also mention the biblical reference 1 Peter 3:16, which could potentially be related to their point, but it's not entirely clear how it connects. The subsequent response you provided offers insights into why some people might engage in such behavior and outlines potential advantages for readers in critically analyzing false claims. However, it's unclear whether the response directly addresses the poster's point or que…

GB constantly finds reasons to change its previous point of view, opinion. And so it happens that the previous "Light" has become the current "Darkness". Every mind-unchained JW should be concerned about his role in believing and spreading today's "Truth", because tomorrow it will be declared "Darkness". Some JWs will try to rationalize this theological/doctrinal middle ground with the idea that "it is not the truth that changes but our understanding of the truth". "Present Truth" is changing, the book Proclaimers says, because of "advances in the understanding of truth." The book Proclaimers deals with the terms: 1-"light is progressive" 2-"progress…

In 2011, during preparations for a theocratic building project, concerns of financial impropriety arose on the part of various congregation members. As these concerns mounted, the Branch Office was notified and I also posted this Fraud Alert advisory here on The World News Media site as a general notification. Despite being moved by genuine concern for others, I should have refrained from doing so as the responsibility to handle such matters rests with the Circuit Overseer. (Orignally posted in 2014 in the jw-archive.org) Introduction This alert involves a particular form of fraud known as affinity fraud that has been perpetrated upon multiple congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Northern California (USA), specifically Circuit 13*, by persons professing to be servants of Jehovah God. Affinity fraud is defined as a scam that preys upon the trust and friendship that exist in associations, such as religious groups. Those who utilize affinity scams typically are - or pretend to be - members of the group and often use respected religious leaders within the group to promote the scheme by convincing the members that a fr…

I will use a part of the text from the MA dissertation entitled "How have the Jehovah's Witnesses' adapted child safeguarding practices and guidance to local circumstances in the United States of America, England and Australia?" This text examines the "CHILD SAFEGUARDING POLICY OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND" - https://www.jw.org/en/legal/global-information-brochures/packet-jw-scripturally-based-position-child-protection/ 3.4.1 Changes in practice due to English legal pressure: Evidence of the WatchTower organisation adapting its child safeguarding practices due to local legal requirements can be seen in the prosecution of…

Prophecies are promises of truth that are revealed at a future date. Therefore, the fulfillment of a prophecy is a ‘timed event’ that covers a period of time. The Bible tells us, “For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing Unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7) The Prophet Daniel first learned about ‘the fulfillment of a prophecy’ in regards to the Jews being released from Babylonian Captivity from the Book of Jeremiah. The Prophet Daniel began to believe in a specific date and he walked by faith. in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, discerned by the books the number of years mentioned in the word…

This is an example of another "progressive knowledge" or "new light" with all its connotations in the minds and hearts of believers. The New World Government was created in 1914, according to WTJWorg. After 29 years of their rule, the NWG made a theocratic decision, because that's what Jesus told them to do. So it says in this article WT, July 1 1943. Read this and similar things in an article from that time that give people a headache today. Especially to those who are increasingly realizing how much nonsense was loaded on the faithful believers throughout all these decades by the GB and their predecessors.
