On the day he clinched the Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump also sparred with a reporter over his use of the nickname “Pocahontas” to describe Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).

When asked at a press conference Thursday in North Dakota about Warren’s most recent string of tweets criticizing him, Trump said, “Who? Pocahontas?”

Someone in the crowd asked whether the statement was offensive.

“Is it offensive? You tell me,” Trump replied.

“It’s very offensive,” Nicole Robertson, a reporter who is Native American, responded. “Sorry.”

Trump went on to bash Warren for failing to document her claim that she is Native American and criticized her for being unable to deliver for the people of Massachusetts in the Senate.

“She tweets a lot about me,” Trump said. “She is a senator that is highly overrated: She’s passed very little legislation; she has been a real disaster for a lot of people including the Democrats, who frankly can’t stand her, many of the Democrats. Just ask Hillary Clinton how she likes her.”

He added: “She’s a woman that’s been very ineffective, other than she’s got a big mouth.”
