Dorothea Skrzynecki, age 81, of Ephratah, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016, at her residence, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on January 30, 1935, in Manhattan, a daughter of the late John and Beatrice Dolan Gajdarik.

Dorothea graduated from high school in Queens. She moved to Fulton County in 1969 with her husband Francis. Shortly after, she began her long career as an accounts receivable clerk for the White Mop Wringer Company in Fultonville until her retirement.602901_1.jpg

Mrs. Skrzynecki was baptized on August 5, 1961, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Dorothea was a longtime member of the Johnstown congregation.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan M. Watson (Harold) and Diane C. Riscen (Rudy), both of Ephratah; one sister, Beatrice Jusas (Howard) of Winter Garden, Florida; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hall, Travis Riscen and Rebekah Watson; and one great-granddaughter, Shayla Hall.

Dorothea was predeceased by her husband, Francis E. Skrzynecki, whom she married on May 21, 1955, and he passed on December 25, 2006; and her two brothers, Richard Gajdarik and John Gajdarik.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 126 South Kingsboro Avenue, Gloversville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
