The government has also had to impose short term shutdowns of authorized Bitcoin farms to prevent further strain on their power grid. This follows a major move in January 2020, where the Iranian government began issuing cryptocurrency mining licenses to operators.

Looks like US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a secret trip to Iraq because it appears that the Iranians are poised to invade Iraq.
On Tuesday May 7, 2019 the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group left Norfolk, VA heading toward Iran.
Iran has been deploying missiles around the Persian gulf area in strategic locations according to news reports on May 8th.
All of this comes shortly after a recent warning to the rest of the world's 5 countries that are still purchasing Iranian oil to cease and desist or face dire consequences.

President Trump sent shockwaves through geopolitical circles after he announced he would not recertify the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. This isn’t bringing the accord to a full stop—it’s just putting the ball in Congress’ court for a potential sanctions redux.
Quick refresher: the agreement sought to curb Iran’s nuclear program (by limiting its uranium stockpile and establishing U.N. monitoring protocols) in exchange for lifting certain economic sanctions on the country of 80 million people…a country the U.S. considers the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.
The business world is keeping a watchful eye. When the deal went through two years ago, some multinationals were allowed to resume doing business with Iran.
      And ran they did
Here are a few Iranian business dealings since 2015:
Boeing sold 80 commercial airliners to Iran Air worth $16.6 billion. Airbus sold 100 for $20 billion. French carmaker Peugeot agreed to a $472 million joint venture with Iran Khodro, a domestic car manufacturer. Together, they’ll produce 200,000 cars annually. French oil company Total will develop an Iranian gas field for $1 billion. So it’s pretty clear why both corporations were hungry for an agreement, and why Iran was ready to deal. In 2016, Iran raked in $11.8 billion in foreign direct investment, a 600% increase from 2015, when the pact was signed.
But Trump’s pulling the Persian rug out
Because the president campaigned on a promise to rip apart the deal (and now he’s on that path), many multinationals aren’t about to take the risk. Just take a look at Orange, France’s largest telecom company. In 2016, it made moves to acquire a piece of MCI, its Iranian counterpart. But recently, it hasn’t been returning MCI’s texts (h/t WSJ).
And then there’s oil. Iran is OPEC’s third largest crude producer, exporting 2.3 million barrels a day. But sustaining that type of output relies on nearly $100 billion worth of investment.
It’s unlikely to reach that number if major players like BP and Shell keep Iran at arm’s length.

(CNN)After a difficult, monthlong journey from Central America to the US-Mexico border, dozens of asylum-seeking migrants are vowing to remain outside an immigration processing center until "every last one" is admitted into the country, an organizer with the caravan said late Sunday.
Earlier, the migrants marched from Friendship Park in Tijuana, Mexico to the San Ysidro port of entry. They stood on the Mexican side; on the other side lay San Diego, California. It was the final leg for some in the caravan of hundreds of migrants, which had reached Tijuana on Tuesday.
Alex Mensing, an organizer with Pueblo Sin Fronteras, which assembled the caravan, said 50 migrants were admitted to the immigration processing center. He said the migrants' decision to not return to a nearby shelter overnight was made in solidarity with the asylum seekers who are inside the facility.
But the migrants' fate is uncertain. Before the group arrived, US Customs and Border Patrol officials said the port had already reached full capacity, and migrants trying to get into the United States may need to wait in Mexico as officials process those already in the facility.

Don't know how else to name this topic.
One of the hard things about being Christian is putting up with the handful of crazy people in our ranks.
The story broke after there was an "arson attack" on one of our halls.. there was a big gasp of anxiety among brothers I know to begin with, until I saw the pictures...

The State Security Agency (I suppose it's similar to Homeland Security) quickly had begun investigating the case because there had already been some minor attacks on the same hall with graffiti and minor damages.
      Later, the story was amended

Another report indicates the silly woman was quickly identified to the police by brothers who had video surveillance material of her carrying out the arson attack and was arrested the moment she arrived at her home on her bicycle, after which her bicycle was examined revealing traces of the charcoal lighters on her bicycle.
Supposedly she did not feel accepted in the community and had an argument with somebody or something.
No major damage was done but she obviously caused a huge circus. Not to mention all the embarassment and putting shame on Jehovah's name.  A lot of the comments from worldly people on facebook are along the lines of "The poor helpless lady probably lost everything to this wicked sect and couldn't think of any other way to fight back" and comments from brothers of course are all along the lines of assuming persecution.
So, a very negative and sad piece of news but I felt the need to share to get the full story across. Probably only half the story is going around facebook, instagram, whatsapp and so on.. the perpetrator in this case was just a nutty, frustrated "community member" (whatever that means, sister, study, interested person, I don't know).

I do not agree with our organization using a masonic/illuminati symbol and would like an explanation.

President Hassan Rouhani said the last year’s nuclear deal “was the cheapest way to achieve Iran’s goals and interests.”

Speaking in Tehran on Saturday at an iftar meal breaking the Ramadan fast, Rouhani said the pre-Iran nuclear-deal era is past and Iran now needs to take advantage of the new atmosphere to pursue its “national interests more than before,” Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

The country’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday called for student associations to establish a “unified anti-US and anti-Zionist front” among the Muslim world’s students, Tasnim News Agency reported.

“By using advanced means of communication and in cyberspace, general campaigns can be formed by Muslim students based on the opposition to the policies of the US and the Zionist regime of Israel so that when needed, millions of young Muslim students create a big movement in the Islamic world,” he said.

Khamenei also warned against plots by enemies seeking to sabotage the country.

Separately, on Saturday, Fars News Agency reported a senior official of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards as having said Israel’s Iran Dome anti-rocket system has vulnerabilities that were revealed in recent wars.

On a similar note, the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Brig.-Gen.

Hossein Salami, said on Friday “more than 100,000 missiles are ready to fly from Lebanon,” according to Tasnim.

“Today, the grounds for the annihilation and collapse of the Zionist regime are [present] more than ever,” he declared, saying there are “tens of thousands of destructive long-range missiles” from Islamic territories aiming at all of “occupied” Israel.

“If the Zionists make a wrong move, all the occupied territories will come under attack from dedicated fighters and, God willing, the territories will be liberated,” Salami warned.
On Friday, Rouhani accused Western powers of trying to exploit differences between the world’s Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims to divert attention from the Israel-Palestinian conflict, state television reported.

“We stand with the dispossessed Palestinian nation,” he said.

      Reuters contributed to this report.

Iran test-fired two ballistic missiles on Wednesday morning that it said were designed to be able to hit Israel, Reuters reported. Two Qadr missiles were fired from northern Iran which reportedly hit targets in the southeast of the country 1,400km away. The nearest point in Iran is around 1,000km from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The launches followed the test-firing of several missiles on Tuesday as part of a major military exercise, defying a threat of new sanctions from the US.
