This was not the first time The Watchtower had mentioned expulsion of unrepentant sinners from the congregation. From 1952 onward, however, the need to maintain the spiritual cleanliness of the Christian congregation was especially stressed.

No,  it was not first time WT talking about sinners. As we can see from 1947 article, before 1952 WT doctrine marked Roman Church as one that give wrong interpretations on some Bible verses about "expulsion". Later, WT accepted Catholic application of same verses.

With or without "pagan influence", WT as "spirit guided organization" changed previous interpretation on same Bible verses.  :))

@Eoin Joyce I believe this is their quote about themselves you are referring to:

So what it boils down to is everyone is spirit-directed either by Jehovah or Satan. So by their fruits you can identify them. So the point would be who is the true religion. Its not rocket science. A

Is the Governing body still "spirit directed"? Of  course !  bec. its  our  only  channel  from  Jehovah  to  our  GB !  NO  one  can  purport  the  opposite

Interesting. Trying to revive a 2016 topic with something that makes no sense. WOW! ?

In elders (as extended hand from the GB) action of disfellowshiping members can we see or not .. are they "still spirit directed" ?

Wasn't this just answered last week? That answer is NO. They pray for insight and they can be wrong. No one person is higher then another in the GB. This is WHY positions and duties change yearly.

Elders: "Bro Fred. We see that you have your beliefs on Bible teachings that is contrary to WT beliefs. We love you very much, but we must to disfellowship you, not because You have your own beliefs in your brain, but because you have no WT beliefs in your brain. Sorry!"

Bit confused. Was this your experience? Or did you make it up?

Reread Saturday's Daily text. For those who seem to be negative we all are imperfect. When the light gets brighter.....we change according to the new knowledge

Some men assume that we are not imperfect, for they are dead wrong. Imperfection is a price we pay for the disobedience of our early parents.

Correct. And then we have;

a) pray has not ended in Heaven (because of clouds of all sorts)

b) pray was not make God to be pleased

c) God decide not to answer

d) God let that "spirit of deceive" acting

e) God answer but human interpret His words wrongly

f) something else

:)

left in 2015, after 40 years :)

So are you wanting to return? Or are you now into criticizing?

None of us know how Jehovah will change things up. Meaning we might have been right about some things and wrong about some. But we keep searching, asking and with our own minds we end up grasping what is to be known. What you knew in 2015.....might be adjusted,  different or more precise today.

All due respect but your comments are as if your angry unbelieving now. That would be considered going against the spirit yes? Out of all you once knew....the love you once had, isn't it respectful NOT to comment so as to not mislead a fragile mind?
