The "need for money" makes common sense. It made common sense to Paul, and it makes common sense to people who have...well ummm....common sense, and want to eat and pay the bills. I have no idea how you think things are paid for. Long gone are the days where I gave you flower in exchange for a chicken....

Russell said, Beware of "organization." It is wholly unnecessary. The Bible rules will be the only rules you will need. Do not seek to bind others' consciences, and do not permit others to bind yours."   Wt. 9/15/1895 pg 216

Rutherford:  “Religion is a snare and a racket”  1939

Wt 1953 3/1  p. 143 “Ask yourself now, Did Christ Jesus, who set our example and told us to follow his example to gain life, join any church organization in his day? No, God does not require us to do that; but he requires us to worship him... We have the Bible to show us the right way. Certainly it is not necessary for a person to become a member of a church to gain everlasting life."

"Jehovah’s visible organization can use you, but can get along without you too. But you cannot get along without it. Fruitless ones are eventually pruned off and never missed as new ones are grafted in. Pruned-off branches soon wither and die, being cut off from the circulating, life-giving sap." Watchtower 1950 Jan 15 p.26

"Come to Jehovah's organization for salvation" - Watchtower 1981 Nov 15 p.212

WHO IS RIGHT? WHICH WATCHTOWER LEADER IS SHOWING COMMON SENSE?

Beasts need to eat; symbolic “Beasts” suck the life blood out of those who follow their hypocritical teachings.  Rev chapter 13.

Stephen Lett – Annual meeting 2017

"Esau our third example, knew the history of Satan and Adam and Eve but did he learn from them?  No, he too lacked appreciation for sacred things.  Adam and Eve lacked the appreciation for sacred things. Esau was Isaac’s first-born son and in Bible times this had great value, but he thought only of his immediate physical cravings.   Gen 25:32 says he became very hungry and cried out, “I am about to die.”  Was he really?  Shouldn’t he have not endured a little bit longer, rather than sell his birthright?  Now, pretty quick he realized his mistake.  He stole something with real value, for what?  I mean what would he have received?  Some bread and lentil stew.  Apparently the stew didn’t even have any meat in it.

We Bethelites, we can get bread, lentils AND meat for free in the Bethel pantry.

"Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness—without it no one will see the Lord.  Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many.  Rev 8:11

And make sure that there isn’t any immoral or irreverent person like Esau, who sold his birthright in exchange for a single meal. (Luke 4:5-7 ) For you know that later, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, even though he sought it with tears, because he didn’t find any opportunity for repentance. " Heb 12:14-17

Matt 7:21-23

I think there is only one person in the whole wide world who did not laugh at this little joke to illustrate how one can trade away much for little.

As my memory serves me, MAIN, PRIMAR reason for collecting money (in this or that methodology or organizational way how to do it)

IS TO HELP POOR MEMBERS OR CONGREGATIONS. Read the Bible, not old Jew type and anti-type GB illustrations. :) and explanations models.

NOT to building headquarter (cathedral :))), branch Bethels, ..... but helping people to have enough for life, in flesh and spirit.

Did any of you forget your privilege?
