Proverbs 4:

    Hello guest!
But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light

That grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.

Nice try, but with no real effect Nana :)

First of all the main point here is THE PATH and not the light! Path of some person (righteous one) can go in good direction only with help from higher Source (the light aka God and this LIGHT is NOT CHANGEABLE  as it is JW light of/on interpretations, This light is the same in all stages of the day - no shadows).

In this verses, here, wise man talking about humans path, not God's light. Humans evolution, spiritual progress in righteousness is in fokus. Not progress about doctrines of some religious system. It is about Your/mine personal progress and development  in love, justice, mercy, compassion and such things  -  not in type and antitype interpretations, not about prophecies meaning of some bible books, not about procedures on how to handle organizational issues of WT Company.

Light is from the same source as in the morning and in the middle of the day and in the evening. In verbatim life, sunny light in the morning and in the evening are not sufficient for person to see things in full picture. So, these circle are repeating every single day. Does this mean that JW are living in periods, stages  of morning, day and evening light in circles??? Because literal light have all this stages as Proverbs gives us to conclude. Is it the same with JW spiritual light??  Is it the same with doctrines and interpretations of JWorg?

What teaching of JWorg give us assurance that particular teachings are in stage of morning light, and what teachings are in stage of full daylight, and what teachings are now in stage of evening light??

In literal way, translated to you, and in fact asking you or other JW member; "What teaching will come in the future with morning light?? What teaching will stay whole day under full daylight? And what teaching will perished as daylight going down into the evening light or night (or darkness, hehe) ?

What is this? Mockery? Are you serious here? You have just demonstrated your position on the subject and it is lacking. Instead of supporting your stance, you dodge it with a diversion such as this. I'm pretty sure you have supported your positions in the past quite well, but here you failed.

We have consistently reported that light means our understanding of things. However, we must differentiate between light-itself, and reflected light. For God is the source of light and he does not change. So light cannot be understanding since our understanding shifts constantly like the reflected light of the sun on the landscape as the sun rises up until noon or full daylight, when the day is at it's brightest, rather than a full or complete day as the sun sets. In that is another implication, that of the sun reaching its apparent peak at noon necessarily means that it wanes following the peak, that is if like the actual sun, it keeps moving forward and does not remain stationary :)  Of course, if it's a cycle, it will return to daylight eventually. Our understanding keeps changing yes, our viewpoint or perspective keeps changing, yes. But the light source has little apparent change if any. Also, too, the scenery changes over an extended time. What was once mountains and valleys may now be filled in oceans or covered in cities or roads. So the scene of this world keeps changing too. But we have stated that what we look at does not change, but our understanding or perspective of it. While true, if I stand outside my house on one side at dawn but simultaneously move one meter every hour clockwise, I will see both a different perspective and a different reflected light, than if I remained in front of the house all day long. So it does make me wonder, are we also moving around the object we're looking at as well as the sun moving across the spiritual sky? As this would be quite significant... It reminds me of the five blind sages who went to "see" an elephant story!

I have thought the exact same thing ... with the exact same example.

It is real crying shame that most JWs have no idea what the value is of such simple education.

It's worth looking up .... and meditating on.

Proverbs 4:18 is beautiful, but it isn’t the route the Watchtower takes.  Follow the path of “this generation” teaching from the beginning.  Map it out, and you will find a very crooked path.  Do the same with all Watchtower’s proclaimed dates, including 1914.  Soon, a confusing maze has developed with no end in sight.  If a spiritual leader or teacher that we have trusted in, tells us that “light” is over “there”, even in a place/teaching visited before (as is the case with “this generation”); once arriving, and the test of time proves we have found no assured light…for the first, second or third time -  surely we take this faulty guidance as an untruth – a deception – a lie…and darkness.   Surely.

“As a dog returns to its vomit, so also a fool repeats his foolishness. Do you see a person who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”  Prov 26:11,12

A child might say, “you tricked me!”, having enough sense to know when to quit believing the tricks.    JWs appear to be numb to this trick since it is balanced by soothing words of apparent wisdom, and apparent light.  Prov 5:3;29:3;55:21; Rev 2:20

Guard your heart above all else,
for it is the source of life.
Don’t let your mouth speak dishonestly,
and don’t let your lips talk deviously
.  Prov 4:23,24

INDIVIDUALLY, the path of righteousness and light begins by stepping out of the maze and off the crooked path of deception.  Prov 4:14,15

My son, pay attention to my words;
listen closely to my sayings.
 Don’t lose sight of them;
keep them within your heart.

For they are life to those who find them,
and health to one’s whole body. Prov 4:20-22

“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who lives in me does his works.”  John 14:10

Jesus answered, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. The one who doesn’t love me will not keep my words. The word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me.”  John 14:23,24

The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,

This path is in following Christ, who is compared to the sun.   Matt 17:2; Rev 22:16; Ps 89:36

Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

Prov 4 is about gaining and retaining wisdom in Christ, who holds within him, God’s Word, light and life.  (John 1:1) An anointed teacher should reflect such wisdom and light obtained from Christ; which always begins as light, and is always growing in more light.  Matt 5:14-16; 2 Tim 1:13,14; Tit 1:9; Luke 12:37; Matt 13:43;(Acts 26:17,18; Eph 5:8)

shining brighter and brighter until midday.

“We also have the prophetic word strongly confirmed, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”

 But the way of the wicked is like the darkest gloom;
they don’t know what makes them stumble.

If doctrine is forever needing changing, and false prophesies are pronounced, how can it be dismissed that the hearers are NOT stumbled as they grope in the darkness of the proclamation?  Can darkness ever be called light?  2 Cor 6:14

“If we say, “We have fellowship with him,” and yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth.”  1 John 1:6 (John 14:6)

An example of proposed fellowship in Christ, darkness and a lie:

Wt 1/1/1924 p. 5 - "Surely there is not the slightest room for doubt in the mind of a truly consecrated child of God that the Lord Jesus is present and has been since 1874."

“Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.”

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.  John 15:7

“For you are all children of light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or the darkness… 1 Thess 5:5

…As long as they guard their heart. Luke 6:45,44; John 7:38

As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental (or spiritual) path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.HD Thoreau

Prov 4 speaks of two paths – the straight path, continually in light; or the wicked path, off the course of truth. We can choose either to dominate our life.  Discarded Watchtower doctrine was never truth…or light.  Those who teach and speak doctrine aside from the teachings/words of Christ have no light in themselves and rob the hearer of the true light of Christ, even though the anointed teacher may speak his name.  Matt 24:23-27

You don’t have his word residing in you, because you don’t believe the one he sent.  You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me.  But you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.  John 5:38-40

This is true of JWs.  They are willing to “come to Jehovah’s organization”, but not directly to Christ, since the leadership teaches salvation begins when one enters the door of the organization. According to Christ, this makes the organization a thief.

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

2 Thess 2:9-12 – “The coming of the lawless one is based on Satan’s working, with all kinds of false miracles, signs, and wonders, and with every wicked deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie12 so that all will be condemned—those who did not believe the truth but delighted in unrighteousness.”

Truth, in verse 12:  alḗtheia (from

    Hello guest!
/alēthḗs, "true to fact") – properly, truth(true to fact), reality.

[In ancient Greek culture,

    Hello guest!
(alḗtheia) was synonymous for "reality" as the opposite of illusion, i.e. fact.]

The organization is the illusion/delusion of light, life and truth;  and a path many have chosen.

The reality – the true facts from God’s Word, show it is Christ who is light, life and truth, and the only path for the righteous.

“I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.”  Isa 42:16

applies to what critics mock as "Nooo light!", that they claim happens too frequently.  I don't feel that way at all about ever increasing light on the path, for individuals as they keep learning, and for the organization as a whole.

Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,
And the years of your life will be many.
 I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right paths.
When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,
And when you run, you will not stumble.

Are these rejected dates the way of wisdom? If they contained light, why are they not kept as a light source?

Thank you Witness, I have tracked the changes. I'll just say, I'm not here to be right or to win. There are some interesting zig zags :) Our material has reported that these zig zags are like a yacht moving toward the goal, It does not take a direct line, but must tack or zig zag back n forth at the angle of the direction of the wind or spirit. This is very well and reasonable if true. However, a yacht in a race, should never turn 180 degrees and move back toward where they came, unless it's a temporary 360 degree penalty turn for infringing upon the competing yacht. So for a short time, the yacht might be facing 180 degrees. That might help to explain why at times we've made a complete 180 degree change in understanding. Too, the implication that we are racing another yacht to the goal may concern some. But to respond to your comments on what some writers may call "flip-flopping" in on doctrines, I have only been a JW for 20 years but have read most of the Watchtowers from 1950 onward, a few from before that too. All in an effort to try and see both perspectives more clearly. The "this generation" one is of current interest as the old saying that "millions now  living will never die" uttered by Rutherford I believe, is proving difficult to continue supporting. JWs are about 8.5 million, the world average population of elderly people is about 8 percent. Applying that to our organization and we arrive at a little over 100,000 elderly over 60, a much smaller number of which would be in their triple digit age. So another saying, "those that saw the events of 1914 will not pass away until all these things [the Jesus mentioned] occur, too, is looking to be improbable, as these ones would need to be older than 104 years old to have been alive at 1914, to see the events of that time. Very few people in this world reach such an age. And in all likelihood, that group has already passed from the scene of this world. So, either the Tribulation has already begun, and those last few died off since it's beginning and before its end as we currently believe will happen. Or they are awaiting the first resurrection, which we currently believe they have received already [all those anointed who die from around 1918, 19 would not have to wait, but receive their heavenly reward instantaneously] , yet cannot have if the Tribulation had not yet begun within the last few decades, in order for those who saw 1914 to be alive at its beginning and not so before its end. However, a recent adjustment tells us that that group could have already died off, and it ls the second overlapping group that will be alive for the Tribulation and not so by its end. Consider too, that up until the early '90s we thought we were in the Great Tribulation since 1914 :) so technically that first group may have actually died during it, fulfilling the requirement of the previous statement. But ironically, among that group some did not believe that all anointed would receive their heavenly reward before Armageddon. Some, thought they might go through and help set up the Kingdom on the other side and then receive their reward. However, it was thought that the Marriage of the Lamb and the Bride had to take place before Armageddon, in heaven. So the recent adjustment has taken this into consideration. However, as we have stated in the Revelation Climax book, the Great Crowd do not need to be in Heaven for them to stand before God's throne. If then, some anointed are on earth at the Great Tribulation, do they necessarily need to be in heaven for the marriage? In reading of the bonds between anointed and Christ, they are already united when they receive and accept the anointing. They do not need to be in the same physical location to satisfy this union. Anyway I rambling :) Over to you...

Dear Cheepcheep, thank you for your polite response. Although you are trying to look at the organization’s “tacking” objectively, you have not mentioned the light of Christ in your comment.  Each attempt by the Watchtower to “tack” and teach it as truth, which we know they do, corrupts the Word of God.  I am sorry, but there really is no excuse that can be made by their “tacking” example.  You covered a lot of subjects in your paragraph, in which I personally feel are errors in their teaching; perhaps more suitable for another topic.  Appreciatively, Librarian always keeps me in check. :)

“Therefore, since we have this ministry because we were shown mercy, we do not give up. 2 Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful things, not acting deceitfully or distorting the word of God, but commending ourselves before God to everyone’s conscience by an open display of the truth. 3 But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For we are not proclaiming ourselves (as the Watchtower does) but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’s sake. 6 For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.  2 Cor 4:1-6

I hope you can see that ChristÂ’s light in the heart of a righteous one, is the knowledge of God; and is accurate knowledge to feed sheep appropriately and correctly.

You said, “It does not take a direct line, but must tack or zig zag back n forth at the angle of the direction of the wind or spirit. This is very well and reasonable if true”

I suppose Wt. uses these words of Christ:  “The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”  (John 3:8)…this doesn’t mean the Spirit takes a faithful anointed one down any wrong path (which failed doctrines – are), as if to teach them a lesson.    It is the Spirit – “breath” -  of God/Christ working in an individual, leading them in knowledge, and as God wills.  Examples of this spirit wind:

“He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man. Say to it: This is what the Lord GOD says: Breath, come from the four winds and breathe into these slain so that they may live! " Ezek 37:9

“Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying. Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them”  Acts 2:2,4

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”  John 20:22

God’s Spirit has not filled Watchtower’s sails and led them in a zig zag pattern through the years.  His ways are perfect.  The tacking theory puts the blame on God for men’s false predictions.  There are ample Bible references telling us to keep on the straight path, the only path, which should warn us NOT to fall for Watchtower’s tacking analogy.  Ps 27:11; 2 Pet 2:15; Jer 31:9; Prov 4:26; Isa 26:7; Prov 15:21; Luke 3:5; Heb 12:13; John 1:23; Prov 11:5; Ps 119:128; 107:7

When I posted my above comment elsewhere, this was the response from two (I believe both were) ex-Witnesses.

“The problem with the JWs use of Prov.4:18, ‘light getting brighter’, is, it is a misuse. Plucked and distorted from it’s true context. They pluck it from scripture and place it in an illegitimate relationship to excuse previous ‘misunderstandings’ of Bible prophecy, passages. They force fit it in use to self-pardon wrong and false prophetic summations and acclamations. By their application as such, they narrow this passage down to nothing more than a generic excuse scripture, missing its true meaning.—..........—Christ said ‘I am the light of the world’ ‘I am the lamp’. In Leviticus Ch.24 the people themselves were to bring flour and oil for the use in the tabernacle. It personifies a savior, Christ. Christ said ‘I am the bread and light’. Our light gets brighter in our continuing relationship with Christ and our Father. The whole context in Prov. chapter 4 is about relationship and the paths of righteousness vs. the path of wickedness.—..........—JWs have relegated it to something far less, missing it’s deeper meaning and structure. They have pawned it off as nothing more than an excuse passage.”

"Flour and oil". I was just thinking about that yesterday, when considering the widow who fed Elijah, with, flour and oil. Jesus told us in John ch.4, that the worship that results in life, is done with spirit and truth. The "bread from heaven" is Jesus Christ, the "way, truth, and life". I see the flour, as a symbol for truth.
The Bible uses golden oil, to symbolize the spirit. Kings and priests were anointed with the holy anointing oil, and since Christ, there is an anointing with spirit. That spirit combines with the truths of God's word, resulting in life. From the spirit and truth given to us, we are expected to prepare an offering to God... the "fruit of our lips" that confesses what we have received. Those who do this, are given more... the real meaning of light, getting brighter.

Yes maÂ’am, and our very lives are confessions of fruitage in that path of righteousness. The light in our relationship grows brighter and stronger, the love deepens.

Unless we step away from Watchtower and its “new light” we can’t see the absurdity of the list of “new light” dates; which are only part of changed, as well as faulty doctrines (“faithful and discreet slave”, who are the “great crowd”, the role of the “royal priesthood”, the “good news”, etc. – Yes! )

I do hope you see this.

Thank you very much :)

It is very interesting that outsiders see the date list for what is – dead weight like bobbles on a necklace slithering around the walls of the Watchtower.  The GB said, “Of course, Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food.”  Wt 17 February pp. 23-28   I am realizing now the twisted truth of this statement.  If by “us” they mean themselves, it is a true statement.  But for those who believe in him, who remain in him, who desire to serve the true God and Christ – he promised it.

“ If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”      Luke 11:11-13,9,10

So, what’s with the GB and their necessity to fabricate “new light”?  Have they asked THE FATHER for spiritual “good gifts”?  Have they asked CHRIST?  Or, do they follow another spirit – the “god of this age” who has offered them everything in this world, except for the knowledge from the living Christ?  Luke 4:7; Matt 6:20,21

Jesus sent his new recruits, his soon-to-be apostles with directions and examples on how to feed his sheep.  Jesus fed thousands with bread and fish, projecting those experiences spiritually.  When the GB and all past Wt. leaders, who claim to represent Christ, uttered just one false doctrine or date as food from Christ – they lied. Deut 18:20-22 Bread and fish sustained the body of those hungry  ones.  When they followed Jesus for more, he said,

“Truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled. 27 Don’t work for the food that perishes – check out the list of dates, JWs!

but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set his seal of approval on him.”

The apostles asked -  and all anointed ones should ask,

28 “What can we do to perform the works of God?” they asked.  (Would Wt’s “new light” fall under the works of God?)

29 Jesus replied, “This is the work of God—that you believe in the one he has sent.”  John 6:26-29

The GB proclaim themselves, and JWs proclaim primarily the GB and the organization  (they are taught this)– HOW can they truly, deeply believe in the light of Christ?

“I have come in my Father’s name, and yet you don’t accept me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.” John 5:43

Even though they speak the name, Jesus.  Matt 7:21-23

Thanks for your comments Witness. I have no qualms with discussing the light of Christ. He who said 'I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. He did not send himself did he :) Nor is the one sent ever the superior.  As Paul remarked, stars differ in glory from each other, the light of the moon is not as brilliant as the light from the sun. Indeed, the moon only reflects the sun's light. So for us, Jesus' light as brilliant as it is is to the glory of God the Father, who sent him.

In fact both, a person needs to accept not just Jesus and his Father but also the spirit too, recognising their roles and functions. well, that's how I was taught and still believe.

Mat 7:21-23 mentions 'doing the will of the Father' so if we ignore the Father's will, how would Jesus respond?

Hi sis, welcome to the fold! :) In the last 5 years we've had more "big" adjustments than in the previous 10 years of "smaller" adjustments in our understanding. These are the "tackings" the poster was referring to. Each adjustment is like a small turn, the big ones are bigger turns or changes in direction. Like the Chariot of Ezekiel it can suddenly move at right angles at the speed of lightning, without turning or slowing down as it moves in the new direction. These too, are like strategic "tacks". Our appointed Commander and Chief is Jesus, Head of the Congregation. But it is Jehovah described on the throne in Ezekiel. Later in Revelation chapter 4, we get a glimpse of same throne, perhaps at a different more peaceful time since the one sitting on the throne is no longer surrounded by a rainbow with energetic flames flowing forth, but a peaceful emerald rainbow. It is our nature as a people to adjust or "tack" but some do no like it. If you compare the churches who prefer to stay the same, with no changes, it's good to ask those ones, what is better? There are advantages and disadvantages to both ways of thinking, so long as we all recognise that no one knows everything :) except God.

The problem with the "tacking", is the front of one shoe is nailed to the floor, and any "progress" is made in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise circle.

Creating an artificial sense of urgency WILL motivate you ... but so will setting your hair on fire.

It is quite proper to follow "Jehovah's Chariot", wherever it goes ... but when following a clown car .... make sure you check the route, the weather, and the gas.

.... and don't follow TOO closely.

I have no real idea of how to find out information about these things but some of you seem to have inside information.
This topic is aimed at the time lapse between new 'worldly information', 'worldly discoveries', 'worldly laws in different countries' and every type of worldly activity that affects the JW's in the Org.
Such as how long does it take the GB to take action between something important happening in the 'world' then the GB having a reaction to it.
For instance Blood Fractions. How long had those Blood Fractions, of different types,  been available, before the GB authorised the use of them ?
How long had the sex abuse reporting laws been in use or in force in different countries, different states, before the GB recognised them ?
How long did the GB know that the Superior Authorities scripture actually meant 'worldly authorities' before they changed it ?
The March Watchtower is proof perfect that the GB will act when pushed, not by God, but by problems within the JW Org.  But it would be good to have proof that the GB has deliberately delayed decisions on many things, even when a vast amount of information had been readily available. I don't have such proof but some of you might have.
Why would the GB deliberately delay decisions ?  To maintain power over it's earthwide congregation. The GB recognise the power they have when people are anxiously awaiting a decision on an important matter.

Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ) God's name is Jehovah. Watch Tower Society founder Charles Taze Russell used the name "Jehovah" occasionally, but not consistently, when referring to God.[72] Jesus Christ gave his human life as a ransom sacrifice; belief in Jesus necessary for salvation. Russell believed that God's design for mankind was a restitution or restoration to the perfection and glory lost in Eden. This depended on God providing a ransom for all mankind to release them from the inevitability of death. Christ became that ransom sacrifice.[73][74] The timing of Christ's Second Coming, or "presence", can be calculated through Bible chronology. Russell believed the timing of Christ's advent could be calculated by determining the length and termination point of the "Gentile Times"[75][76] and also by calculating the close of six "thousand-year days" (6000 years) of human history, at which point  Hello guest! 1880: Clergy-laity distinction viewed as unscriptural.[91] 1881: Rejection of the Trinity doctrine.[92][93][94] Russell claimed the Trinity doctrine had "not a word of Scripture" to support it. He explained: "We understand the Scriptures to teach that the  Hello guest! H. Barbour had criticized the anti-Trinitarian view of the Christadelphians;[98] an 1880 book by Zion's Watch Tower writer J. H. Paton emphasised that the  Hello guest! According to Russell, most references to "hell" in the New Testament were more accurately translated as "grave".[105][106] 1887: The New Covenant, which Russell had claimed since 1880 would be inaugurated only after the last of the 144,000 anointed Christians had been taken to heaven,[107] was said to be "now in force".[108][109] 1890–1899[edit] 1890: The "Time of the End" of Daniel 12:4 is identified as beginning in October 1799—when Napoleon invaded Egypt and ended the power of the papacy—and closing in  Hello guest! The anointed are changed into spirit form, throughout the whole period of Christ's presence, at the time of each one's physical death.[111][112] 1897: "This generation" of Matthew 23:36 defined as "people living contemporaneously."[113] 1900–1909

".[116] 1904: 144,000 "elect" to go to heaven. Russell believed God had chosen a "fixed and limited ... number who should constitute the New Creation of God". God had not foreordained individuals, but those who met his "moral qualities and heart measurements" would be chosen to go to heaven.[117][118] 1904: "Great Company" of Revelation 7:9, 14 identified as a secondary spiritual class who have "insufficient zeal for the Lord, the Truth and the brethren" who are granted heavenly life, but on a lower spiritual plane.[119] In heaven they serve as servants rather than kings and priests.[120][121]
1907: The inauguration of the New Covenant described as belonging "exclusively to the coming age."[122] Russell began to teach that the "church" (144,000 anointed Christians) had no mediator, but itself joined Christ as a joint messiah and mediator during the millennium.[109][123] 1910–1919

Armageddon had previously been understood to mean a "melee between contending forces of mankind", resulting in social revolution and political anarchy.[147][148][149][150][151][152] 1925: Michael, the dragon and the man-child in Revelation chapter 12, previously defined as the Pope, the Roman Empire and the papacy, redefined as Jesus, Satan and the New Nation (or  Hello guest! Announced in January 1, 1926 issue of The Watchtower.[155]   1926: "Satan's organization" defined as the rulers of politics, commerce and religion and all their followers.[156] 1927: "First resurrection" of "sleeping saints", previously 1878,[157] changed to 1918.[158][159] 1927: Identification of "time of the end" as a 115-year period from 1799 to  Hello guest! Rutherford's Creation (1927).[161] 1927: "Faithful and wise servant" of Matthew 24:45-47, previously defined as Russell since 1897,[162][163][164][165] changed to a "class" comprising all remaining "anointed" Christians.[166] 1927: "This generation" of Matthew 23:36, previously defined as "people living contemporaneously"[113] changed to a remnant of the "anointed" on earth during Armageddon.[167] 1928: Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, previously regarded as a testimony to the Bible and its chronology,[48][168] declared to have no prophetic significance and built under the direction of Satan.[169] 1928: Celebration of Christmas, previously embraced as a "tribute of respect" to Christ,[170][171] discontinued because of its "pagan origin".[172] 1929: Honoring of God's name described as "the outstanding issue facing all intelligent creation".[173] 1929: "Superior authorities" of Romans 13:1 to whom Christians had to show subjection and obedience, previously defined as governmental authorities, redefined as God and Christ only.[174][175] Secular state then regarded as demonic and almost without redeeming features.[176] 1929: Beginning of "Time of the End" of Daniel 12:4 changed from 1799 to  Hello guest! The term was drawn from the account at 2 Kings 10.[185] In 1920 Rutherford had written that it was "unreasonable" to think God was developing any class other than the little flock (the 144,000 to attain heavenly kingship) and the "great company" (second spiritual class also with a heavenly hope). In 1934 the Watchtower explained that the "Jonadabs" survive Armageddon by living in the figurative "City of refuge", represented by remaining affiliated with the Watch Tower Society.[186] 1932: Watch Tower Society adherents with an earthly hope should join the worldwide preaching work.[187] In 1927 The Watchtower had directed that only anointed Christians were "entitled" to take part in the ministry.[188] 1933: Christ's parousia – his second coming or invisible "presence" – previously established as  Hello guest! Previously, the "great crowd" was believed to have a heavenly hope.[141][195] 1935: Tobacco use "unclean" and prohibited for Bethel (branch office) staff and traveling overseers.[196] 1935: Vaccines, described since 1921 as "devilish" and "an outrage",[197][198] condemned as a violation of God's law.[199] 1936: Device on which Jesus was killed, previously defined as a wooden cross, redefined as a "tree".[200] An image of the cross appeared on the front page of The Watch Tower until October 1931.[201] 1937: Jehovah's Witnesses with an earthly hope could be described as "Christian".[202] In 1930 the Watchtower had asserted that the term "Christian" could be applied only to anointed followers of Christ.[203] 1938: God's mandate to "be fruitful and multiply" said to apply only after the start of the millennium. The Watchtower said the mandate had never been carried out under righteous conditions, and so had failed to be fulfilled according to God's will. Rutherford urged Witnesses to delay marriage and the bearing of children until after Armageddon.[204] 1939: Witnesses required to demonstrate complete neutrality in worldly affairs.[205] 1940–1949
1942: Tobacco prohibition applied to all appointed positions, such as congregation overseers and servants.[206] 1943: Destruction of Jerusalem moved from 606 BCE to 607 BCE, when the Watch Tower Society realised there was no year zero between 1 BCE and 1 CE, in order to maintain calculations regarding  Hello guest! The shift in dates also moved the termination point of 6,000 years of human history from October 1872[211] to 1972.[212][213] 1944: Responsibility for administering discipline, including disfellowshipping, of dissident members passed from entire congregation to congregational judicial committees.[214][215] Russell had recommended in a 1904 publication that a congregation "committee" investigate a congregant's serious "error or sin", but the entire congregation voted whether "to withdraw from him its fellowship".[216] 1944: Adam's creation, previously 4028 BCE, changed to 4026 BCE.[217] 1945: Blood transfusions forbidden.[218][219] Russell had viewed the prohibition on eating blood in Acts 15:19-29 as a "suggestion" to gentile Christians in order to "guard against stumbling themselves or becoming stumbling blocks to others"[220] and ensure peace within the early church.[221] 1950–1959
1951: "This generation" of Matthew 23:36, previously defined as a remnant of the "anointed" on earth during Armageddon[167] changed to "a 'generation' in the ordinary sense" who were alive in  Hello guest! End of God's 6,000-year "rest day" ending in northern hemisphere autumn 1976.[226] 1954: Worship of Jesus, previously considered appropriate and necessary,[227][228][229] deemed inappropriate, with the New World Translation translating proskyne′ō as "do obeisance to" rather than "worship" (King James Version).[230] 1955: Operation of  Hello guest! 1960–1969
1961: Acceptance of blood transfusion deemed a disfellowshipping offence.[232] Acceptance of human organ transplant stipulated a personal matter to be decided without criticism.[233] 1962: "Superior authorities" of Romans 13:1 redefined as earthly governments, reverting the 1929 change[234] to
ussell's 1886 teaching.[235] A year earlier, Russell's view was considered to have made the Watch Tower Bible Students unclean in God's eyes.[174][236] 1963: Adam's creation changed back to 4026 BCE.[237] End of 6,000 years of human history due in northern hemisphere autumn 1975.[238] 1967: Human organ transplants equated with cannibalism,[239] "a practice abhorrent to all civilized people", and said to be a procedure not permitted by God.[240] The Watchtower article announcing the view is interpreted by commentators as a prohibition.[9][241] In a 1972 article, Jehovah's Witnesses are described as having taken a "stand" against organ transplants, saving them from the consequences of such operations, on the basis of the description of the procedure as "a form of cannibalism".[242] 1968: Interval between Adam's creation and the close of the sixth creative "day", previously "quite some time",[213][217][243][244] changed to "a comparatively short period of time" that "may involve only a difference of weeks or months, not years." The change led to expectations that Christ's 1,000 year reign could begin in 1975.[245] 1970–1979
1973: Tobacco use banned. Tobacco users not to be accepted for baptism and baptized Witnesses to be disfellowshipped if they continue to smoke after "a reasonable period of time, such as six months".[246] 1980–1989
1980: Acceptance of human organ transplants stipulated as a matter of personal choice not warranting congregational discipline. View of transplants as cannibalism now said to be held only by "some Christians".[247] The Watchtower article is regarded by commentators as a reversal of Society's 1967 position that the procedure is not permitted by God.[9][241] 1981: Members who formally resign membership of the religion (disassociate) are to be shunned in the same manner as disfellowshipped Witnesses.[248] 1983: Martial arts and carrying "firearms for protection against humans" disqualify a Witness from "special privileges in the congregation", such as appointment as  Hello guest! 1990: Interval between Adam's creation and the close of the sixth creative "day" changed to "some time", employing a 1963 reference rather than the 1968 change.[252] 1992: The "modern-day Nethinim", previously defined as synonymous with the "other sheep",[253] redefined as a subset of the "other sheep" who serve in positions of authority within the organization as "helpers" to the Governing Body.[254] 1995: "This generation" at Matthew 23:36, previously defined as a typical human lifespan since Jesus' parousia in  Hello guest! Why does it take the Inquisition into the CSA by governments around the world, lawsuits in many countries and  the threat of non-profit status in a few countries to FORCE the wt/gb to amend the CSA policy?  The article is in the May 2019 WT and the title of the article is "Love and Justice in the Face of Wickedness".

"13 Do elders comply with secular laws about reporting an allegation of child abuse to the secular authorities? Yes. In places where such laws exist, elders endeavor to comply with secular laws about reporting allegations of abuse....So when they learn of an allegation, elders immediately seek direction on how they can comply with laws about reporting it."

I can see that they still won't enforce reporting to the police each and every CSA case only if required by law.  Key word is "REQUIRED" .

"14 Elders assure victims and their parents and others with knowledge of the  matter that they are free to report an allegation of abuse to the secular authorities. But what if the report is about someone who is a part of the congregation and the matter then becomes known in the community? Should the Christian who reported it feel that he has brought reproach on God’s name? No. The abuser is the one who brings reproach on God’s name."

Finally, they finally get it that it is the wrong doer who is the bad guy and not the reporter.......but, I'm sure this is just lip service. And here's why:

16 When they learn that someone in the congregation is accused of child abuse, elders endeavor to comply with any secular laws about reporting the matter, and then they conduct a Scriptural investigation. If the individual denies the accusation, the elders consider the testimony of witnesses. If at least two people—the one making the accusation and someone else who can verify this act or other acts of child abuse by the accused—establish the charge, a judicial committee is formed.

And there you have it, two witness rule still in effect and no mandatory reporting of CSA unless mandated by law.
However, what is the true gain here? Not much, but some is better than nothing, the fact that whoever reports is not the bad guy, the abuser is.  What a wonderful provision made by the loving Jehoverning body. I hope that one day the gb/wt will be on par with humanity in reporting ALL accusations of CSA or any abuse for that matter.

NEW UNDERSTANDING, THAT ALMOST HAPPENS INADVERTED.....
At the last meeting of the Watchtower, we were considering the article "Jehovah loves those who" bear fruit with endurance "
In this article a new understanding on the part of the slave was opened to our mind.
      Paragraph 9 specifically says:
"What is the fruit that we must produce?" Without a doubt, it must be something that we can all carry out, and what work has Jehovah commanded us all his servants? The preaching of the message of the Kingdom.
Not many brothers and sisters captured this new understanding since they even came to quote me at the end of the meeting, an appointment that was made precisely the previous meeting based on a 2008 Watchtower, which says:
8:15. To be one of those who "retain [the word] and bear fruit with endurance", we must understand, assimilate and recognize the value of the Word of God. When we read the Bible and Christian publications, we need to pray and meditate.
The first type of terrain is hard, the second is shallow and the third is full of thorns. The fourth, on the other hand, is a good land that produces fruit (Luke 8: 8). Remember that the sower of the parable can not control the results. Knowing this comforts all Christians and in particular those who have been many years, even decades, preaching faithfully without much apparent results. Why is that fact comforting them? The sower's fidelity is not measured by the results of their work. This was confirmed by Paul when he said: "Each person will receive his own reward according to his own work" (1 Corinthians 3: 8). What is rewarded is the work, not the results
A sower of the word may not see that his work is bearing much fruit; however, that does not mean that you have been less diligent or faithful than others
      (end of quote)
According to the brothers, what was said in paragraph 9 of the study of the Watchtower IS THE SAME thing that the Watchtower of 2008 already said. Even the one in 2010 and the one in 2015, said the same thing.
BUT THEY ARE IN AN ERROR
It really does not say the same thing. Let's look good.
According to these ancient Watchtowers, what is called FRUIT? TO THE RESULTS, to the disciples. Therefore, the slave used to say that we should not worry if we do not get much fruit in the form of disciples.
But now, the new understanding, makes us see that the FRUIT IS THE OWN PREACHING and that the seed that we sow, does not produce fruits, but more seeds.
This understanding is more adjusted to Jehovah's way of thinking, where endurance applies more to the fruit of PREACHING, and is what our Father rewards.

Since the Organization has received "new light" regarding the 1914 generation, and completely changed their view on this, does this mean that all the former Jehovah's witnesses who were disfellowshipped years ago for the same view the organization is now teaching will automatically be accepted into fellowship again? Were these Ex-Jw's in fact disfellowshipped for truth and knew things that the governing body did not?

“The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, the Watch Tower Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870. Of course, Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food. So how can we answer Jesus’ question: “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?” (Matt. 24:45) WT feb 2017
What if a man claims his expressions are not inspired, but still expects us to follow his teachings and obey his direction?  Does he then get a free pass from testing process?  If we are commanded to test an expression which a man claims is inspired from God, how much more caution should we exercise when the man does not claim inspiration, yet expects us to accept his words as if he were channeling the Almighty? - 1 John 4:1
“By word or action, may we never challenge the channel of communication that Jehovah is using today.” (w09 11/15 p.14 par. 5 "Treasure Your Place in the Congregation")
To claim one is not speaking under inspiration, while simultaneously claiming one is God’s channel of communication is to speak a contradiction.
