The Jehovah’s Witnesses community in the Netherlands will not hold an independent inquiry into the sexual abuse of members, despite being urged to do so by justice minister Sander Dekker. By last month, 267 reports of sexual abuse involving Jehovah’s Witnesses had been made to a hotline set up by the Reclaimed Voices foundation in 2017 after Trouw published a report on the growing scandal. Dekker told RTL Nieuws on Tuesday that the organisation’s decision is ‘disappointing’ and that it is ignoring the victims who want to be heard. He has no powers to force the organisation to hold an inquiry.

How do they know this is not being done? The current update of JW child abuse policies clearly show several refinements coming from the recent spotlight on the issue.

Tromboneck has a point. They mostly just want an independent inquiry that will answer to them.

And just what would they investigate? They DID investigate sexual abuse of its members as cases came to their attention, and this is the source of their "problem" in the first place.

They would have been far better off, practically speaking, to have hidden their heads in the sand and cried, Sergeant Shultz-like, "I know nothinnnggggg." They would have been far better off, practically speaking, to make no attempt to monitor the conduct of their members. That way, some instances of abuse would eventually come to light through other means, as they do with members of other faiths, where they would not typically be linked with religious denomination.

GB Member Stephen Lett already did that in 2015, if memory serves, about three months before the Australian Royal Commission blew the lid off of everything in that regard.  He referred to all such accusations as "... apostate lies !".

There are video clips on YouTube.

Among men of integrity, investigations produce results that lead to Justice.

Just as in the case of USA FBI Director James Comey's investigation of Hillary Clinton's unsecured personal email servers that held top secret information .... if you make public statements that exonerate the people being investigated ... BEFORE THE INVESTIGATION IS COMPLETED ... you will NOT get Justice.

Agenda driven investigations are ALWAYS corrupted to protect the reputations of the people, or entities involved.

Colloquial fantasies to the contrary, we are NO DIFFERENT than anyone else in that regard.

He was not calling the bare facts of any case 'apostate lies.' He was calling the spin opposers put on them 'apostate lies.'

Oh, give the flag a rest for just a moment, would you? What about the droves of people now being released from false convictions with the advent of DNA evidence, some having served decades? Go tell them about the brilliance of your brand of INVESTIGATION.

AMEN!!!

And for some of them it took nearly their entire lives while they were awaiting in prison their justice.
