These motor scooters are taking over Atlanta. They dropped off 100s of these everywhere all in the streets. If you need one, all you have to do is click on the app and it tells you where the nearest motor scooter is and it unlocks whichever one you take so that you can go wherever you wish. And when you finish you just leave it wherever you were when you finished. And the price of using it is next to nothing. And you almost can't go anywhere without seeing a whole lot of people riding them. Uber and Lyft are going to be mad soon.

E-scooter Startup Lime Is Hot on Bird's Tail

"Hey, watch me pop this super cool wheelie."—E-scooter startup, Lime...probably.

After all, it's got a lot to celebrate after Axios reported it's raising $250 million. That comes at just the right time for Lime, considering its main San Francisco rival, Bird, is planning to raise $200 million at a $1 billion valuation.

But if you're not a hipster urban commuter, here's your primer on the recent e-scooting craze:

Lime claims over 4.2 million rides on its scooters to date, with nearly 8-12 rides per scooter per day.

Is this the future of transportation? Ride-hailers seem to think scooters will play a role, considering Uber and Lyft have both showed interest in the market.

But it's not all smooth sailing

Some careless riders scatter their scooters all over city sidewalks. It's so bad, San Fran's transportation authority proposed a rule that would limit the city to 2,500 e-scooters.

For now though, the company will celebrate with whatever that drink is that goes best with Lime.

E-bikes would be the ideal form of transport for the elderly if it were not that the greater number have lower balance control. An alternative could be a three-wheeler such as the 'Pedago Trike' which also has a back rest and a small boot at the rear.

However, South Africa has no clear laws for the use of these machines. Seems they have to be registered and licensed.

The solution to all of that is a giant riding mechanical spider

The best part is, It never needs to be recharged.

It makes it's own Soylent Green from indigent street people.

The advantage of these is they are not wheeled vehicles, so they would not need to be registered as vehicles, as nowhere are there laws against riding mechanical eight legged spiders ... PLUS .. for those who can run fast, the loud clattering noises scare them out of the way!
