ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REMINDERS - July 2018

Coordinator of the body of elders: The announcements and reminders for the congregation should be read at the next midweek meeting and thereafter posted on the information board for one month.

FOR THE ELDERS ONLY

  1. Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Scripturally Based Position on Child Protection (cpt-E 4/18): All elders should review and become familiar with this document which is available on jw.org (NEWSROOM > LEGAL DEVELOPMENTS > LEGAL RESOURCES) and replaces the Child Safeguarding Policy for the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Also, the letter to all bodies of elders of January 1, 2017, on Handling Matters Related to Alleged Child Abuse has been removed. Please note that the letter “Protecting Minors from Abuse” dated September 1, 2017, still applies.

2. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): Each congregation should add their congregation name to the Congregation Record of Processing Activities form (available on jw.org in the “Forms” section) as the “data controller” and keep it in the congregation file. You should be prepared to provide it to any data protection authority upon request.

3. Delivery of Literature and Magazines: As of August 6, 2018, we will return to a monthly delivery of literature and magazines for all congregations in Britain and Ireland. The cut-off dates for requesting literature on jw.org will be adjusted accordingly. (Please see jw.org/ congregation/ Bethel Truck Delivery Schedule.) Congregations still having their literature and magazines delivered by Bethel trucks will gradually be moved over to commercial delivery. You will be notified before this change is made.

4. Branch Relocation – Visitor Centre News – Summer 2018: Please print out the second edition of the visitor centre newsletter in full colour and place on the noticeboard, removing the previous newsletters that are pictured below.

FOR THE CONGREGATION

  1. Branch Relocation – Visitor Centre News – Summer 2018: The second edition of Visitor Centre News will be posted on the noticeboard after the meeting. Included in this update is information on construction scheduled in the upcoming months and instructions on how to book a tour.
