A&E on Thursday announced the air date for Leah Remini's two-hour special about Jehovah's Witnesses. The program, which will air Nov. 13 at 9 p.m., will precede the premiere of season three of Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.

The preview special will include Remini speaking in depth with former Jehovah's Witness members. "I thought Jehovah's Witnesses were just nice people knocking on doors," Remini says in a teaser. "We have received many letters, [saying], 'Please look into the Jehovah's Witnesses.'"

The Jehovah's Witness religion was founded in the late 19th century in Pittsburgh. According to a 2016 census posted on its official website, the religion boasts more than 8 million followers globally. The faith is different from most denominations of Christianity because followers don't believe that Jesus is part of the Holy Trinity; they believe he is solely the Son of God.

Along with adherents' refusal to celebrate birthdays and religious holidays like Easter and Christmas, the religion's reputation has been marred over the last several years by reports of alleged cover-ups of sexual abuse. According to a press release for Remini's special, the religion works to "subvert and exploit belief." However, the official Jehovah's Witness site insists the group is "far from being a dangerous cult."

Weeks after the Jehovah's Witnesses special airs, Scientology and the Aftermath will return Nov. 27 at 9 p.m. on A&E. Season three includes eight new episodes and four specials. Although Remini is delving into the practice of Jehovah's Witnesses, the ex-Scientologist is still "curious" about her former religion.

"Yeah, I’m fucking curious," she says in a second teaser, before bringing up Scientology leader David Miscavige's wife, Shelly Miscavige, who has been missing from the public eye for nearly 10 years. "I'm curious where the leader of Scientology's wife is."

The actress adds: "IÂ’m curious why someone would have to disconnect from their own daughter because your church thinks theyÂ’re enemies. IÂ’m curious why you have your members sign nondisclosure agreements and then claim you have nothing to hide. IÂ’m curious why Scientology continues to have tax-exempt status."

Scientology has vehemently denied claims made by Remini on her show, calling the project "nothing more than a scripted, rehearsed, acted and dramatized work of fiction." The Scientology TV Network was launched this spring.

She is perceived as a major threat by the Governing Body

For men who claim to be directed by the one true God to lead his one true religion, you would think they would be fearless in professing their organization's practices and policies to the world.

Talk to the website. ?

Leah Remini says she wants to do more shows on Jehovah's Witnesses

“We got Tweets, messages on Instagram, Facebook, emails asking us to look into Jehovah’s Witnesses and it was becoming too hard to ignore,” said Remini.

“Right now we’re doing it as a special as part of our Aftermath show, but I’m going to hopefully talk to A&E about doing more.”

Interesting that Leah Reminis Twitter acct is fraught with accusations that she only interviewed fmr DUBS and not active ones. But she begged the GB for interviews... and they declined.

I think Leah must have said she wanted an interview re JW beliefs. And the answers are of course on the jw.org website. If she asked to interview about something NOT on the website, then I suppose, she had her day!  Maybe at the very least, a 'responsible' brother will be willing to be interviewed.

Here in the United States we have Cable TV with such things as "History Channel", "Discovery Channel", "Scifi Channel", and "A&E" the "Arts and Entertainment Channel".  Apparently around November 13 of this year they had a famous (?) TV star, Leah Remini,  who had been a Scientologist since she was eight years old turn Apostate, and she has done at least two TV seasons exposing the ills of the Church of Scientology", do an Expose' of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I do not watch TV as a rule, and missed it, and I spent a few days looking for it and trying to download a copy.  It was not on YouTube, but I did find it under "Aftermath Jehovah's Witnesses" on the Russian equivalent of YouTube, "Rutube.ru". It would not download with my usual download software, so I had to find a free screen capture software, which took about four hours to get the settings just right, and I was able to download the two hour program from my monitor, as it was playing.
Therefore, I watched the TV program three times, as I experimented with the settings to get a good screen copy to my hard drive..
I could see both sides of the program viewpoints presented, and did not find us to be misrepresented in any way whatsoever ... but if there was EVER a clear example of the Law of Unintended Consequences, the horror the Governing Body has caused in disfellowshipping the way that it is currently done ... by ripping families apart, and creating  irreparable damage that can never be corrected with reinstatement, was chilling, and puts us in the same class as Scientologists ... which completely disregarding the horror and hardsip, and cruelty without any mercy whatsoever it creates locally, shames Jehovah's Name and Reputation over the whole planet.
I don't believe there is anything a local Jehovah's Witness could do ... rob a bank ... have a harem ... have sex with horses ... etc., ad nauseum ... that would besmirch Jehovah's name and reputation globally as much as our current blatantly cruel public policies of destroying whole families for the sins of one person.
I am very glad to have the education I have to know that the TRUTH is still the truth .... even though the 85% drivel has rotted and fermented into rotten sewage.
Most JWs do NOT have this educational advantage ... so their lives are permanently destroyed.
I don't expect much from people, and almost NOTHING from groups of people .... so for me, like getting one of those great salads at the Olive Garden Restaurant, and finding a big chunk of solid sewage in it ... I hold my nose, and eat around it.
This TV Special is global news .... what could I possibly say to the average person that would clear the Name of God, that the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, NOT THE TELEVISION PROGRAM, has corrupted by its Pharisaic policies that have real world consequences?
The exact same thing happened in ancient Israel, and a system that God blessed and supported for a thousand years and more was abandoned by God.
      The exact same thing.

From the A&E channel. This episode deals with countless cases of child sex abuse within this organization. Hear the experience of a former member as well as a former Jehovah's Witnesses volunteer who worked at the Watchtower corporation headquarters for years until she saw the governing body religious leaders refusal to respond in a supportive manner to thousands of complaints.

Romy Maple and Barbara Anderson expose the horrendous child sexual abuse cover ups.
You know it's bad when the program starts with this:
