To date, Con Edison has invested $3 billion in solar and wind projects. In September 2017 it was announced that the company would invest $1.25 billion in “renewable energy production facilities over the next three years.”
The company’s “renewable portfolio” contains more than 1.5 gigawatts of operating capacity. Seventy-five percent of that capacity comes from solar energy. Clean energy accounts for around eight percent of the company’s earnings, as of fall 2017.
Footage from the surveillance video shows the pedestrian crossing the road while the garbage truck just arrived intersection. Out of nowhere, the blue dump truck comes into the picture after making a U-turn. The back end of the dump truck just misses the pedestrian, but it crashes into the driver's side of the garbage truck. The dump truck then flees the scene of the accident. While the pedestrian escaped the accident unscathed, the driver of the garbage truck suffered a head injury as a result of the crash. According to the police, the slippery road may have been the cause of the accident.
