  GOURMET MONKEY

Native hunters in Africa have found a clever way to trap monkeys. They cut a coconut in half, dig it and, in one half of the shell, dig a hole big enough for the monkey's hand to pass through. They place an orange in the hollowed coconut. They tie the coconut to a tree with a rope, retreat into the jungle and wait.

Soon, an unsuspecting monkey passes by, smells of delicious orange and discovers it inside the coconut. The monkey slides his hand into the small hole, grabs the orange and tries to pull it out through the hole. Of course, the orange will not come out; it's too big for the hole. The persistent monkey continues to shoot and shoot, never realizing the danger it is in. While the monkey wrestles with the orange, the hunters are content to enter and capture the monkey by throwing a net over him. As long as the monkey keeps his fist around the orange, the monkey is trapped. The monkey could save his life if he only dropped the orange. However, it is rare for a monkey to realize that he can not have both orange and his freedom. This seductive orange becomes a death trap. Greed is one of Satan's favorite traps.

Are we smarter than monkeys?
