AS the '607' topic was going way off topic I thought it best to start a new one.
Jesus directed His followers to preach the 'Good News of the Kingdom'. JW's pretend to do this but....................
In the '607' topic there has been much debate (off topic) about true teachings or false teachings. Some JW's only believe some of the GB's teachings and just let other teachings go by. Some of the JWs call this being a mature Christian. Other folks call it being physically in / mentally out. I would call it being physically in but spiritually out.
BUT here's the rub. What does a JW do if they do not believe some teachings from the GB, but that same JW has to teach those teachings to others. ?
This happens in many ways.
It would happen on the door to door work by distributing magazines promoting those false teachings.
It would happen on the Cart / Trolly work by encouraging members of the public to take books and magazines promoting those false teachings.
It would happen in a study, that pretends to be a Bible Study, for a newly interested one. I say pretends, because it is really a study of a book written by the GB's writing department. The book would be promoting the false teachings and the JW would be encouraging the interested person to believe those false teachings.
It would happen by inviting an interested person to a Meeting where the false teachings are preached from the platform.
It could be happening if a JW is posting out magazines to address given them by their Elders.
And all this encouraged by JWs that do not believe those false teachings themselves.
Hypocrisy ? I think so. But obviously JW's see it as being a mature Christian. Do any of you JW's here promote false teachings ?
Do you promote teachings that you yourself do not believe ?
( It was a secondary reason for me to leave the JW Org. My Christian conscience would not allow me to teach lies to innocent people ).

Virus-hit Wuhan has two laboratories linked to Chinese bio-warfare program
Virology institute there has China's only secure lab for studying deadly viruse
---------------------
Here is more info from reddit user DodgeyEdgey:
Here you go. In 2015 there was a test done at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. It was headed by Ralph Baric. https://www.the-scientist.com/news-opinion/lab-made-coronavirus-triggers-debate-34502 The purpose of the lab test was to manipulate a bat coronavirus to see if it could infect humans. It was discovered that it could. https://www.nature.com/articles/nm.3985
One of the people who co wrote the paper was a Chinese researcher by the name of Xing-Ye Gi. Google scholar shows Gi has written or co-written numerous papers on SARS, ebola and coronavirus. https://scholar.google.co.uk/scholar?as_q=&num=10&btnG=Search+Scholar&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_occt=any&as_sauthors=%22Xing-Yi+Ge%22&as_publication=&as_ylo=&as_yhi=&as_allsubj=all&hl=en Gi works in Wuhan.

couple things to put in perspective.
we have only eradicated 2 diseases from the planet, smallpox and rinderpest.
the bubonic plague is still around. there was another case this year in the us. antibiotics have rendered the once greatest plague in history almost an afterthought.
H1N1 was the common flu strain in 2018. that is the same viral lineage that spawned the spanish flu of 2018 and swine flu.
these plagues continually fade away and resurface. So yes, covid will fade, but it may come back a later date. the key is keep an eye out for aggressive strains, and take appropriate actions to contain them.

Trump Delivers on Promise to Advance Religious Freedom Abroad
This week, President Trump issued a historic executive order that ensures international religious freedom will be a major piece of his legacy. The new directive gives the U.S. government more tools than ever before to advance religious freedom globally and to penalize foreign nations that perpetrate or allow religious persecution.

https://www.zerohedge.com/health/perpetual-crisis-now-who-telling-us-covid-19-may-never-go-away
The truth is that this pandemic could still potentially be in the early chapters. The Spanish Flu pandemic lasted for three full years, and we could possibly be facing a similar scenario.
And this week WHO official Mike Ryan warned that this virus could even become “endemic”, and if that happens it “may never go away”…
In other words, Ryan is saying that this virus could become like a flu that keeps reappearing year after year.
So what are we going to do if that happens?
Are we supposed to have shutdowns every year whenever a new wave of COVID-19 infections starts happening?

There was a twitter rumor going around in the last 48 hours that Zhengli SHI the chief scientist from the Wuhan institute of virology who used to study the different bat coronavirus, that she escaped China and is currently in Europe, specifically in France with her family seeking asylum and protection in the us consulate there.
The same rumor also mentions that she has thousands of documents with her showing that the virus in need come from the lab (though she herself publicly denied this couple of months back when the lab leak runour started spreading likely due to CCP pressure).
Since all this is rumor we have to take it with a grain of salt, however if this were true and she essentially becomes and whistleblower and defector from China with information that can prove the criminal negligence (or intentional) by the CCP, this can lead to the fall of the CCP as we know it and radical change to CCP vs the world relations.

"Morning worship announcement at Bethel.
In the United States, 9,000 of our brothers have contracted the Corona Virus, 2,500 have recovered, 563 are hospitalized and unfortunately 219 have fallen asleep to death.
This was mentioned April 14, 2020 in the morning worship in New York's bethel. It was asked that this be shared with the brothers so that we continue to pray for the entire association of brothers and understand the reason that the governing body has taken the measures that have been taken so far. Cheers!"
By the way I am just quoting someone. This info is not from me personally.

France and Australia first reported a spike in domestic violence figures since the outbreak of COVID-19 and issue of stay-at-home orders. Research has shown that a forced domestic life and isolation only spurs domestic violence within the household, considering factors like financial stability and unemployment which are both rising concerns during the pandemic.

Dr. Joshua D. Raninowitz, M.D., Ph.D told ABC News, “When you get exposed to the virus, your immune system immediately starts mounting a response. At the same time the virus starts spreading within the body. An outcome depends on which wins the race, viral spread? or the immune response? When you start with a high dose of virus, it gives it a head start in the race.” Dr Rabinowitz was the NIH Pioneer Award recipient in 2016 and is a researcher and professor at Princeton University (scholar.princeton.edu/rabinowitz).

I have noticed many friends seem to be stressing about the acquisition of the memorial symbols during the coronavirus lockdown. There have been quite a few discussions on social media and in person.
These discussions were mainly regarding the necessity for memorial symbols if such became troublesome to purchase and if no one in the household was a partaker. The elders sent out information, one of which was the 85 WT 2/1/ p. 31 "question from readers" (
Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. )which says in part: "On occasion, raging storms or floods have prevented a congregation, or some of its members, from meeting together as planned. In rare cases, martial law has been in effect with armed soldiers barring citizens from being out-of-doors after sunset. Other Christians have not been able to be at the congregation’s celebration because of being hospitalized or seriously ill. What can be done in such instances?
While it is fitting for the whole congregation to unite for this important event, circumstances such as noted above may make that impossible. When extreme weather, a natural disaster, or the like, absolutely prevents a family or a portion of a congregation from meeting with the congregation, the isolated ones can meet and discuss Scriptural accounts such as found in Luke 22:7-23, 28-30 and; 1 Corinthians 11:20-31, as well as discussing the meaning of the occasion. Similarly, if an enforced curfew makes it impossible for a congregation to gather on the appropriate night, meeting in Congregation Book Study groups or neighborhood groups might be the best alternative, the sum of those in attendance serving as the congregation’s attendance report. A brief talk may even be given if a capable, dedicated brother is in the group. There need not be concern that no suitable emblems are available as long as no one in this emergency situation previously partook of the bread and the wine as an anointed Christian".
It made me think about the whole topic a little bit more. To observe the memorial was a command by Jesus for the anointed, and as far as I am aware, there is nothing in the Bible commanding the great crowd to observe it, even as spectators. However, at the beginning, before the great crowd was identified, all were partakers. After that, the emblems kept being passed, and those who were anointed partook, and those who were not obviously didn't. Fast forward to today, in a congregation setting, even if we "know" that currently no one partakes, that can change. So while all the anointed are not sealed yet, we cannot assume, and stop passing along the emblems on the account that we think no one is anointed in our congregation. No one is asked beforehand if they are going to partake, that only becomes evident when the emblems reach them, and they eat the bread and drink the wine. That way, no one is put on the spot. Of course, on top of that, since we are one flock, and we support the anointed in everything, we observe the memorial with them, as spectators, and also to show appreciation for what Jesus did for us. But, under lockdown circumstances if we know for sure no one is going to partake in our family, then there is really no need for the emblems. That's how I see it anyway. But some prefer to have the emblems to help them visualize things better. Although we are supposed to be walking by faith, not by sight...😀
I like how our website puts it: "The purpose of the Lord’s Evening Meal is to remember Jesus, showing our gratitude for his sacrifice in our behalf. (Matthew 20:28; 1 Corinthians 11:24) The observance is not a sacrament, or a religious practice that imparts merit such as grace or the forgiveness of sins. * The Bible teaches that our sins can be forgiven, not by a religious rite, but only through faith in Jesus".—Romans 3:25; 1 John 2:1, 2.
Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. Unfortunately, it seems like some are viewing the memorial as some kind of religious ritual, and are even going to pass the emblems among themselves as if touching them somehow makes all the difference....Because I come from a Catholic family, I find this kind of reasoning a little disappointing...
Also, I don't know if anyone has listened to the memorial talk, the brother says that Jehovah's Witnesses would risk their lives to be at the memorial. In view of all the above, isn't that statement a little far fetched?
Any thoughts?

the title is inaccurate. According to la Repubblic the 40 didn't test positive to the antibody tests, but rather to antigen tests.
Edit:
Antigen is a part of the virus (think a protein in the virus’ capsule). If that’s present the infection is likely still ongoing.
Antibody is your body’s defense.
——————-
Keep in mind that an ANTIBODY test can be made for 2 types of antibodies: IgM (short term immediate defense) or IgG (long term defense).
If you’re negative for IgM but positve for IgG, you’re probably immune. If you’re positive for IgM but negative for IgG, you’re probably still dealing with the infection.
SO: You can only be sure that an asymptomatic patient won’t develop symptoms if they’ve overcome the infection - and that is measured by IgG+IgM, not by single antigen test.

Coronavirus: Jehovah’s Witnesses Cancel Historical Evangelism In UK
With the apparent failure of the western powers to contain a further spread of the contagious coronavirus, a religious organisation, the Jehovah’s Witnesses (
Hello guest! Please register or sign in (it's free) to view the hidden content. ), has cancelled its historical mode of evangelism across the United Kingdom.
For fear of the disease, the Christian religion organisation, for the first time in the history of its existence, announced the cancellation of its evangelism activities, including house-to-house, street and literature cart witnessing in the entire UK.
The cancellation was coming for the first time in 139 years since the religion sect got to London in 1881 and the opening of its first branch there in 1900.
A source based in London told Tribune Online that the JW has further announced the cancellation of their usual Sunday meeting gatherings in their entire place of worship, known as Kingdom Halls, in the whole of the United Kingdom. “Local congregation body of elders now awaits further directives from JW headquarters and branches in what will unfold in the coming weeks,” the source further revealed.

So these were pictures of people collapsing were posted on social media in the past few days til yesterday (2/23) but no mention in the news. This makes sense because there is no freedom of press in South Korea and everything gets censored. (I know this first-hand because I worked in public radio for half a year in Seoul) The situation may be even worse than what is reported considering these photos are all in very recognizable spaces in Seoul, not Daegu. What's crazy is that I have personally walked by all of these areas shown on this pictures as have most people from Seoul. As of this moment only 31 people are confirmed to have SARS-COV-2 in Seoul.

I thought this was pretty interesting, as I was unaware of how common pneumonia really is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidemiology_of_pneumonia#United_States
Given that there are about 1.86M emergency room encounters with pneumonia per year, consider that everyday over 5000 patients show up with pneumonia in US ERs.
Goes to show how difficult it must be to separate signal from noise when it comes to early detection of COVID19 cases in the absence of mass testing!
Further, I was unaware of how deadly regular non-COVID19 pneumonia already is, with 5%-10% of all hospitalized patients dying: https://www.medicinenet.com/pneumonia_facts/article.htm

The first suspected case of the novel coronavirus has been registered in Honduras on Wednesday, Trend reports citing Sputnik.
According to the Heraldo portal, a 48-year-old female tourist landed at Toncontin Airport. She flew from Los Angeles with a transfer in Honduras. She reportedly was recently on vacation in Taiwan.
The woman showed symptoms such as cough, runny nose, and sneezing, so the tourist was sent to a specialized hospital in the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa, where she is now under surveillance.
According to a deputy health minister, if the test results after 48 hours confirm the disease, the woman will be isolated.
