On May 24, 2019, Markus Grübel, the German Commissioner for Global Freedom of Religion, spoke in connection with the fact that the Russian appellate court upheld the sentence of Dennis Christensen. “I regret the decision of the court that rejected the appeal in the case of Christensen,” said Markus Grübel. “I am concerned about the situation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia. Freedom of religion and ideology is an important human right. Every state should respect it. Religious freedom is indivisible and is valid for all religious communities.”

      RUSSIA / DENNIS CHRISTENSEN ..
      Õ•Õ•Õ•Õ• (From: Eduardo Diaz) Õ•Õ•Õ•Õ•Õ•
         April 9, 2018.
The lawyer Bogvadov who takes the case of Danish Dennis Christensen in Russia accused of "Religious Extremist", requested time in court on the day of the trial, to be able to review the material available for his case, since due to circumstances beyond his control only I had been able to examine 8 of the 12 available folders. Nor was Christensen familiar with the available evidence collected by investigators, such as photographs, and video recordings, as well as some objects seized as a result of the search. To this request, the public prosecutor Fomin was against to grant time to Christensen, because I consider it something intentional to leave the case. But shortly after some negotiations with the translator Uskov about the technical possibilities in the legal field, to allow the lawyer and the accused to become familiar with the available materials of the case. The Judge granted a partial motion to the defense. Giving Dennis Cristensen and his lawyer the opportunity to review and become familiar with the 12 folders but not with the available evidence. The trial will resume on Monday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m.
At the end of the session, the audience was allowed to be composed of his wife and, in large part, by friends and brothers, who could confirm his love and affection as well as share words of encouragement and tell him how the whole brotherhood supports him, since he is in thousands of prayers all over the world, Dennis was grateful for such expressions of affection.

The Oriol Court extends the preventive detention of Dennis Christensen
On February 22, 2018, Judge Aleksey Rudnev, of the District Court of Zheleznodorozhniy in Oriol, decided to keep Dennis Christensen in preventive detention until August 1, 2018. Mr. Christensen is being prosecuted for organizing the activity of a religious organization that has been declared an extremist. In fact, he was arrested while attending a Christian religious meeting that was assaulted by the police in May 2017.
The preliminary hearing began on February 19, the period during which the judge deferred the decision on motions that both parties presented. However, at the February 22 hearing, the judge denied all motions filed by Mr. Christensen's lawyers and decided to extend his preventive detention. The criminal trial will be on February 26 at 2:30 p.m.
Jehovah's Witnesses around the world are concerned about Mr. Christensen's well-being and pray that his wife, Irina, can persevere with the support of her husband. He has already been in preventive prevention for nine months.
On February 26, 2018, the start of the main hearings on the criminal case against Denis Christensen was scheduled. He is accused of continuing the activities of the Jehovah's Witness organization, which was liquidated by the court. In fact, Christensen has nothing to do with this organization. He only used the right that "everyone" is guaranteed by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, that is, the right to have religious beliefs and to act in accordance with them.
NOTE FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THIS GROUP:
I feel a deep shame for the theatrical show that is giving the Russian justice, a simple puppet in the hands of the government and the Russian Orthodox sect. Thousands of Russians gave their lives in World War II to reign democracy and freedom of religion in their country. The current government, mamporrero of the Orthodox sect, has destroyed this registry of martyrs. Our brother Denis is being TORTURED in a demonic way for serving the Almighty Jehovah. Pray for him and others unjustly treated.

Our brother Dennis Christensen, imprisoned in a Russian jail since May 2017 awaiting trial, has been sentenced to another 3 months, so he must be locked up in difficult conditions until 23 February 2018. He can then be sentenced to several more years.
Judge Andrei Tretyakov during the 3-hour hearing did not satisfy the defense's request to replace the preventive measure in a softer one, such as house arrest. In addition, the court did not take into account the formal guarantees of the Royal Danish Embassy (the brother is a Danish citizen) who, for humanitarian reasons, has given assurances that he does not provide a new passport for Christensen captured by the investigators and is not going to Promote your trip outside the Russian Federation.
      Dennis Christensen is completely innocent.
I will persist in denouncing the shameful repression on this and all the other Russian witnesses, with an attitude towards defenseless and innocent people. - https://jw-russia.org/news/17112020-262.html

"Memorial" recognized the political prisoner of the believing Jehovah's Witness from Denmark Dennis Christensen
The case against Christensen is one of the first in the campaign to prosecute Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia.
Denmark's national Dennis Ole Christensen, a believing Jehovah's Witness who lives in Orel, is charged with committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 282.2 (organization of the activity of a religious organization in respect of which a decision was made to liquidate in connection with the implementation of extremist activities) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, Christensen heads the religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in Orel.
FSB officers detained Christensen on May 25, 2017 during a meeting in a building on Zheleznodorozhnaya Street, where the Oryol Jehovah's Witnesses together read the Bible. On May 26, Svetlana Naumova, a judge of the Sovietsky District Court of Orel, decided to select a preventive measure in respect of him in the form of detention.
The case against Christensen was one of the first in the campaign to prosecute Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, which intensified sharply after the Supreme Court on April 20, 2017 decided to recognize the Jehovah's Witnesses' Center in Russia as an extremist organization. Moreover, Christensen became the first in the modern history of Russia, a Witness of Jehovah, who was deprived of his freedom due to religious affiliation.
The decision to select a preventive measure against Christensen states that he allegedly "committed organizational actions aimed at continuing the illegal activities of the IDPs of Jehovah's Witnesses" Eagle "and expressed in the convocation of meetings of JWO Jehovah's Witnesses" Eagle "..., the organization of preaching activities, the distribution of financial Funds of IDPs of Jehovah's Witnesses "Eagle".
In our view, the charges against Christensen only on the basis that he is a believing Jehovah's Witness are discriminatory and violate international legal acts, in particular the right to freedom of religion. The decision of the Oryol regional court to recognize the extremist local religious organization (LRO) of Jehovah's Witnesses "Eagle" and its liquidation and the decision of the Supreme Council to recognize the Russian "Jehovah's Witnesses" as an extremist organization and ban its activities in the country do not have legal grounds and contradict Art. 28 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation guaranteeing the right to freedom of conscience and religion.
We demand an immediate end to the persecution of Dennis Christensen and other Jehovah's Witnesses who are persecuted for their religious affiliation.
Recognizing a person as a political prisoner or being persecuted for political reasons does not mean either the consent of HRC "Memorial" with his views and statements, nor the approval of his statements or actions.

    • John Houston said: Sure it was. Read any decent books on geology and paleontology. The earth formed about 4.7 billion years ago, the earliest traces of life are at least 3.5 billion years old, macroscopic life with hard parts first appeared about 550 million years ago. Within a short time predators appeared. Do you not accept this? Ah, you're a young-earth creationist. No wonder you say such things. So if scripture said the moon is made of cheddar cheese, would you believe it? So you think the Bible trumps science and the fossil record. Most predators are both scavengers and active hunters. Problem solved. Predators that also scavenged. The fossil record records plenty of examples of predator/prey interaction. For example, many trilobites, up to 520 million years old, exhibit bites taken out of their shells. A few of these exhibit partially healed bite marks, showing that they survived an attack and lived on. That is not possible in a young-earth creationist view. So again, which do you accept? The fossil record and science, or the fallible biblical interpretations of a few religious leaders?
    • I would like to say this... when I read about the creation, life was not created as "red in tooth and claw" as you put it. Life was not eating each other to exist. At death maybe, but no life form was hunting another for food in the beginning. Things have to make sense if one believes in scripture. Can't believe in one concept and not another. If it is written that life was to eat, and that was ALL LIFE, green vegetation, then common sense would tell me, the only meateating was going on at death, scavengering a carcass. No, wild ferocious dinosaurs as science think they know from bones. But ask yourself, what cleaned away these massive bodies after they died? We have sharks in the seas, what is left over it settles on the bottom for scavenging. And we see that today. Animals not created to live forever had to be removed, cleaned up after, who,did that Adam? Come on think about it.
    • And yet the Prism and South of Baghdad says otherwise.
    • Yes. But with no change to the meaning or interpretation of the term "high crimes and misdemeanors" as we can see by every example of those officials who were impeached during the years when that phrase still held the British meaning. And we can also compare every example of those officials who were impeached in Britain during the centuries and decades leading up to the US Constitution, and beyond. I should also add that I think Trump is guilty of many abuses of power. If he was right about the way that he says Obama was guilty of abuses of power (and I think he was) then Trump must be guilty by his own admission. I also think that Trump definitely had in mind a quid pro quo with Ukraine. This doesn't mean that he got his way, however. The people around him often tend to reel him in, or just end up doing the more politically legal thing, even if Trump is ready and proud to do something illegal or unethical. Even if Trump only did the right thing after he was "caught" as Democrats would like to say, it doesn't make the desire to do the wrong thing, or even the request "impeachable" on its own. Trying to do the wrong thing, is not the same as doing it. One can point out the fact that aid was held up, and even that it was held up so that he would get something he wanted of personal benefit. But if the other side did not give him what he wanted, then we don't have the crux of the quid pro quo anyway. Personally, I don't even think it's the right thing to give aid to Ukraine. The whole point is to paint Russia as an evil adversary or enemy when we are not at war, or shouldn't be. We keep a proxy war going through Ukraine only because we (and especially Democrats) love the idea of a powerful bullying empirical power that shows it wants to stand up to Putin, even if this teases out a WWIII. The Democrats want to look even stronger against Putin, because they are still stuck on this missed chance to make it look like Trump is weak on Putin, or somehow in cahoots with Putin. Trump actually tends, most of the time, toward a foreign policy that is less hawkish than Democrats. Of course, that probably doesn't sit well with several of the military agencies and contractors who "need" more war. Many of Trump's "walkbacks" have been over times when he wanted to scale back military operations and expenditures, but came back the next day to show that it wasn't a real scaling back. Some say they can see a pattern which was especially predictable with Bolton, Pompeo, etc. As his advisors and cabinets change personnel, his own statements will still always be unpredictable, but his "walkbacks" are less so.  After listening carefully to a few minutes of the testimony today, I'm thinking that Biden's son was picked by Burisma for the same reason that a corrupt company like Theranos put Reagan-era George Schultz on its board. It is a way to pay for some credibility or even protect from too much inquiry or investigation. And after watching him become the most hated mayor in America, Giuliani is just about the kind of person I would expect to be looking for these same kinds of deals for his friends and relatives. Also I got the impression that the phone transcript of Trump's "perfect" call is not the full transcript. There was too much legal activity going on immediately after the call to make sure that transcript would become legal. There were some hints in the way legal-savvy people word their answers that raised some flags for me.
    • And, as I remember, the Colonists thought the British Interpretation of how things should be handled that was an onerous burden to them ... sufficient enough to go to war against the mightiest  army and navy of that time period.
