) Even as late as 2014, one of the elders testifying at the ARC expressed similar sentiments to one of the two adult survivors who wanted to testify, by asking her: "why would you want to drag the organization through the mud?". To keep child sexual abuse from the authorities however has never been JW policy. But Tom, you can't reason with the unreasonable. Thankfully, as we know, the ARC turned out to play a key part in what we all see as a welcomed improvement. Not so much in our policies, but in their clear transparent presentation to ALL Jehovah's Witnesses (and anybody else who is interested).

Dear Tom, when JW religion come to be ONLY religion in the world (as you hopes) than this religion would destroy any potential danger of other way of religious thinking, and not only DFD opponents, but make them to disappear. Or perhaps deport them to some island (New Australia maybe , haha). In that i find tragedy and irony about WTJWorg "future system". Today, WT members want all Religious Freedom ...for all (first for self) . Tomorrow, WT members will persecute all opposite religious opinion, another way of Worship and give NO Religious Freedom to future generation people in NW System/Order. Today WT implements spiritual killings in shape/model of dfd and shunning. Tomorrow ....?? That is main problem ... not my feelings about different religious affiliations.

Here we have Russian Government who working their job in protecting their Nation from this and that. But this is also somehow similar to Malawi when GB instructed brotherhood in that country not to buy ID card aka Party card, because of "neutrality". With such "command" they was responsible (cca: 50% or more GB and 50% or less JW members) for bad outcome for all those who suffered and been killed. WT aka GB, GB aka WT was responsible for people's health and life. There, in Russia, similar situation took place. Secular authority made decision, justice or injustice, to ban one Religion/Corporation. What choices JW members have. To obey Secular authority or to obey GB? Or to find third way? If they find Third way, out of GB instructions, i am very sure how JHVH God will be last Person in Universe who would blame them for Alternative Decisions/Choices.

I’m glad you brought it up. Who should be blamed for condemning Jesus to death? "While going up to Jerusalem, Jesus took the twelve disciples aside privately and said to them on the way, 18 “See, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death. 19 They will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked, flogged, and crucified, and on the third day he will be raised.” Matt 20:17-19 Paul equates this to the Jews killing Christ. "For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of God’s churches in Christ Jesus that are in Judea, since you have also suffered the same things from people of your own country, just as they did from the Jews who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us. They displease God and are hostile to everyone” 1 Thess 2:14,25 As Jesus predicted – "Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they treated them the same way. 37 But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and seize his inheritance.’ 39 So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. " Matt 21:36-29 And Peter said, “Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him among you, even as you yourselves know, him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed” Acts 2:21,22 Although the chief priests of Israel had “no right to kill anyone”, they were responsible for his death. John 18:31 It is amazing to me how similar it is in the organization when an anointed priest speaks out against the organized religion of their people, the “chief priests”/ Pharisees, (GB) hand them over to “uncircumcised” spiritual “Gentiles” – “lawless men”, to be “killed” - disfellowshipped. It is the elder body/Man of Lawlessness, who treads down and rules over God’s Temple/priests. 1 Cor 3:16,17; 2 Cor 6:16; 2 Thess 2:3,4; Rev 11:1,2 This is extremism.

Russian JW bro and sis love each other, i guess, and want to show it in a way to not say names of fellow believers. It is understandable. I guess they are "ready" to give their freedom, health and life for other JW. But in dry administrative words, we all can agree in idea, how this JW Russian people EXPECTED all this "persecution" and talking to each other about it and talking to people in Field Service how time will come when satan with his people will imprison, kill and beat JW, not only in Russia but in a whole World. Even Convention Programs Alarmed all JW people around the World how such time is very close. And that day has come, for Russian JW (come again in Russia, after USSR era ban and isolation). In countries where there is no such problems, JW people "eagerly" waiting Armageddon, but when this sort of Armageddon comes on JW people, than all come to be unhappy and blame satan, evil Government, Police, President etc. Going to UN, OSCE, Strasbourg for help and religious freedom. WT pressing charges and similar. Why, if "prophecies" must be fulfilled? Why if Bible say, "happy are those who are persecuted" ? But for what reason? For Justice, Righteousness. Of Christ. "Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires". Not for WT, human religious corporation and organization, requires. Again, it is not about to have "JW religion", organization. It is about to have Spirit and Truth, as Witness very well emphasized in her comment.

Did a foreign nation want Jesus killed, or was he persecuted by his own people? On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?” 27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind (Deut 6:8); and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’(Lev 19:28)” 28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” That isn’t an empty promise, is it? However, is it possible to love God in this way, when a towering organization requires servitude, devotion and love as well? Why would Christ’s teachings need any adjustment by men? Why would we need further decrees developed by anyone other than those of Christ and the apostles. We have the Bible, which is all we need. Deut 6:8 - Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 17 Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. 18 Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors, 19 thrusting out all your enemies before you, as the Lord said. Deut 6:17-19 Lev 19 “‘Do not steal. “‘Do not lie. “‘Do not deceive one another. 12 “‘Do not swear falsely by My name and so profane the name of your God. I am the Lord. 13 “‘Do not defraud or rob your neighbor. “‘Do not hold back the wages of a hired worker overnight. 14 “‘Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the Lord. 15 “‘Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly. 16 “‘Do not go about spreading slander among your people. “‘Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord. 17 “‘Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. 18 “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord. 19 “‘Keep my decrees. “‘Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the Lord.’” Lev 19:11-19,37 Has the Watchtower followed all of the above? What about disfellowshipping those who refuse to serve an organization? What about perverting justice to victims of abuse? What about teachings and prophesies that have deceived its members? And the list goes on. Israel grew fat and kicked; filled with food, they became heavy and sleek. They abandoned the God who made them and rejected the Rock their Savior. 16 They made Him jealous with their foreign gods and angered Him with their detestable idols. 17 They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God— gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear. 18 You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth. 19 The Lord saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters. 20 “I will hide my face from them,” he said, “and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children who are unfaithful. Deut 32:15-20 WT 85/3/15 p. 10 - “GOD’S ORGANIZATION.” That expression was used by a member of the Watch Tower Society’s editorial staff during the daily Bible discussion at the Bethel dining tables over 60 years ago. How it thrilled the headquarters family in Brooklyn, New York! That UNIQUE PHRASE, “God’s organization,” served to GUIDE THE FUTURE THINKING, SPEECH AND WRITING of those Bible Students. It broadened their spiritual VISION with regard to all creation and greatly influenced their attitude toward the marvelous Organizer of the universe, Jehovah God. w89 12/15 p. 24 - To render acceptable sacrifices, we must cooperate fully with God’s organization. Who says? God? Jesus? Or men? w11 1/15 pp. 3-7 - Still, as a people, “the chosen ones” and their loyal companions will physically survive the end of apostate Christendom by taking refuge in Jehovah and his mountainlike organization. Isn’t God our Rock? Is there another? Fear the Lord your God, serve Him only and take your oaths in His name. 14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you;15 for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land. 16 Do not put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah.17 Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. 18 Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors, 19 thrusting out all your enemies before you, as the Lord said. Deut 6:13-19 God never abandoned the nation of Israel when His decrees were followed. The organization has proven it cannot rescue anyone in times of adversity. It is heart-wrenching to see this persecution exist, because people are trusting in a “unique” vision instead of trusting fully on God. During this time period, those that give their testimony to Christ in front of their own people must expect persecution. “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. Who does he mean by the “world”? 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. He spoke truth to his people and they rejected him, they killed him. When anointed and companions speak against a false god, its leaders and its lies; turning completely to their Rock and their Savior, they are persecuted and rejected by their people. They are considered spiritually “dead”. They are following in the path of Christ. John 16:2; Rev 13:14-17 WT 17/10 - “In these last days, Jehovah’s people have been able to do a great work. This has been possible because of Jehovah’s blessing and Christ’s leadership. We are happy to be part of a STABLE, SECURE, AND EVERLASTING ORGANIZATION, and we know that Jehovah’s purpose for pure worship will come true.” “Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial (“spiritual”) foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so. 11 The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. 12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate (of Jerusalem) to make the people holy through his own blood. 13 Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Heb 13:9,10,11-14 Srecko is speaking of worshiping in the Spirit and in Truth: John 4:23,24 “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” And you are faulting him for it, for following Jesus’ words? I would guess he has already suffered greatly for his stance against his own people, where spiritual “Israel” reside. We do not have an enduring physical organization established in the world of Satan, that will lead us into the Kingdom. We have Christ. John 10:7-10 Hear the word of the Lord, You who tremble at HIS word: “Your brethren who hated you, Who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, ‘Let the Lord be glorified, That we may see your joy.’ But they shall be ashamed.” Isa 66:5

      Hello guest!
This comes in a time, where the political atmosphere is changing for the worse in Spain. The people might once again ally themselves with the axes of evil as they did before. Whatever the case may be. No true witness should weigh in as to the legality of the intent. It seems one person here has not just become a judge, but also a supporter of the government. Perhaps that kind of thinking is best served in the JW ONLY forum, where people are free to be as judgmental and cynical against the Watchtower as much as they want. Having said that, it appears the rules have changed in Spain. The Health System in Transition (HiT) profile on Spain was co-produced by the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, the Spanish Association of Public Health and Health Care Administration (Sociedad Española de Salud Pública y Administración Sanitaria, SESPAS) and the Institute for Health Sciences in Aragón (Instituto Aragonés de Ciencias de la Salud, I+CS). Spain will have to prove what provision the Watchtower violated under international law.

Here some points I noted not sure if these r different from the previous edition: medical marijuana is a personal choice Any allegations of child sexual abuse r to b given to the legal department to tell the elders how to proceed. Also specific instructions to not make abused persons face their accuser The elders should all b made aware of any sexual predators and if they move the new congregation elders should b made aware including parents of children in the congregation. This is only done if the legal department says to. Victims of abuse or their parents r to b advised that they can go to the police and r not to b discouraged from doing so. Masturbation is not pornia and is not really covered. Not sure if this is new and the org is backing away from discussing it. Probing sexual questions r to b avoided during a judicial committee Sexual offenders r not to receive any major privileges in the congregation, possibly minor ones such as handling mics after an extended time has passed. The elders r to clearly tell people that they r being invited to a judicial committee and what the meeting is about up front. Things they r still clinging to: Still sticking to the two witnesses rule for child abuse it says that attempted suicide victims may b subject to a judicial committee ( someone that has mental illness should not b subject to more trauma I find this to b so disgusting) Of course all the other ridiculous invasive restrictions we all have experienced Highlights from the book above (2019 links added) The three year rule is re-iterated without specific mention of "three" An elder or MS will be removed if he allows his adult DA'd child to move into family home An elder can be removed for filing for bankruptcy The language around the definition of rape is better - no more references to the woman having to scream The stayover rule is still there. If you stay in the house of a member of the opposite sex, and two people know about it, it's a judicial matter. "Abhorrent" forms of porn are now a DF offense. Gay, Lez, child, violent, bestial. Gluttony is now listed as a DF offense. Not sure if it was there before They have narrowed the definition of apostasy: " Deliberately Spreading Teachings Contrary to Bible Truth " the end of that sentence used to read "as taught by Jehovah's Witnesses" I think this the first time they explicitly stated that marking talks can be given based on misconduct from unbaptized minors There's a whole new section on CSA. It seems like an improvement overall and includes the child no longer having to confront her rapist in most cases, but it still doesn't have the promised female representation from Jackson's promise to the Australian court. Willingly taking blood remains an automatic disassociation offence. Reinstatement is "several months, a year or even longer" Ownership of kingdom halls. They make clear that regardless of what it says on the title, a congregation does not OWN their own kingdom hall. jw.org email - all correspondance between elders is now via the elders private account on jw.org. I guess they want to make sure they know EVERYTHING Congregation file: Still they say the best place to keep it is at the KH. Therefore, paper records of all judicial matters should be in those files. ALL CSA RECORDS HAVE "DO NOT DESTROY" WRITTEN ON THEM Here's the entire section on legal action as a result of judicial action. I think it's worth noting that it demonstrates that they will leave you alone if you write a legal letter: IF THE ACCUSED THREATENS LEGAL ACTION 18. If the accused threatens legal action against the elders, the elders should suspend proceedings and promptly telephone the Legal Department. 19. If a member ofthe media or an attorney representing the accused contacts the elders, they should not give any information about PREPARING FOR JUDICIAL HEARINGS CHAPTER 15 “SHEPHERD THE FLOCK OF GOD” the case or verify that there is a judicial committee. Rather, they should give the following explanation: “The spiritual and physical welfare of Jehovah’s Witnesses is of paramount concern to the elders, who willingly provide spiritual assistance to congregation members. The elders extend this spiritual assistance confidentially. This makes it easier for those who seek the elders’ help to do so without worrying that what they say to the elders will be divulged later. Consequently, we do not comment on whether elders are currently or have formerly met to assist any member of the congregation.” If there is a need to do so, the elders may obtain the inquirer’s name and phone number and inform him that their attorney will contact him. The elders should then promptly telephone the Legal Department. 20. Ifthe authorities request confidential congregation records or ask that elders give testimony regarding confidential congregation matters, the elders should promptly telephone the Legal Department. This seems like a big change below as it codifies what we have all been hearing about ownership of KH's: OWNERSHIP 2. A Kingdom Hall is dedicated to the worship of Jehovah. Whether the property title, or deed, is held in the name of a local corporation or by means of a trustee arrangement or it is held in the name of a legal entity managed by the branch office, no congregation should conclude that it “owns” the Kingdom Hall. However, it is the responsibility of the congregations using the property to care for it and see that it is used in harmony with Kingdom interests. 3. As many as three or four congregations may be assigned by the branch office to use the same Kingdom Hall auditorium in order to make full use of the facility and to keep expenses to a minimum. The branch office will generally correspond with only one of the congregations using the facility regarding legal, property, and related matters. Usually, this contact congregation holds the documents related to the Kingdom Hall and the property on which it is located. This is for practical reasons only and does not provide a basis for the contact congregation to make unilateral

It looked to me like there was more to the government's case. Apparently the brothers assigned to do the HLC work in Spain were creating a database of doctors sympathetic to bloodless surgery. But it was done by compiling information gathered from questioning doctors, questioning staff, and questioning the experience of Witness patients with those doctors. The amount of cooperation in the way they answered questions, and the patient experiences were all used to produce a list of those assumed to respond well in situations listed. The data from both patients and doctors was used to make assumptions about how those doctors would treat cases assumed similar by the the HLC. It was being shared without permission. This had come up before and the HLC had been called out for this in 2014 and 2017. So the HLC promised to destroy the database. A followup shows that the HLC is still making use of the database that they never destroyed, and they are still collecting data. I think the penalty is especially for lying about the destruction and (dis)continued use of the database.

In Spain, legislation is extremely protective and protects individual liberties and the rights of citizens. One of these rights is the "protection of personal data". That is, when a third party wants to obtain my information (name, address, for example) or much more importantly (my religion, medical issues, financial issues) I have to authorize him. Otherwise it is prohibited and is punishable. That's why in Spain we do not use the forms of preaching records to record "not at home", return visits, etc. We did it on personal sheets, and lately we are recommended to do it on the mobile or tablet to be more discreet. Still, legally, if I write down "Ms. Maria, street x, interested," you should ask her for permission to have that information. In short, a real problem. None of us do that. And that brings us to the fine. What the Hospital Liaison Committees have done is illegal. They have done it in good faith, but it is illegal. They have interviewed doctors and collected information from patients (Witnesses) and, without their consent, they have taken note of these data, they have collected them in an electronic file, and (of this I am not sure) they have transfer this data to third others. All this is penalized. Here when you enter the door of a doctor the first time the first thing they do is to extend a form where you authorize the query to keep your data. What saddens me in particular is the lack of orientation that the headquartes has given to the brothers who attend this work. Only a small form would have sufficed, asking the interested parties if they give their consent to the fact that the interview information could be collected and stored for later use. Let's see if they do it in the future, because this fine affects a small community in this country, but luckily the government agency has not investigated the rest of Spain.

Thanks for the increased clarity on this @JW Insider and @ComfortMyPeople. Seems to be the unauthorised compiling and sharing of a sort of "best buy" consumer rating list of doctors who are 1. willing to engage in non-blood medical management. and 2. having a good "bedside manner". I don't know much about data protection laws in Spain, but it does seem in the context of the news report to have been a rather ill-advised venture.

They kept a database of doctors who do bloodless surgery/medical care. Under EU, that's not legal - in EU opinion.

Poor old Tom. He makes statements that he cannot prove. He paints all ex-JW's with the same colour as he is too frightened to look at them as being individuals. He generalises so much that he makes himself look stupid. And for an author that wants to be taken seriously he really lets himself down with his over emotional rant. Anyone taking Tom seriously and anyone believing Tom's words needs to get back into the real world. It would be too easy to shoot Tom down on what he has written above, but for those that want to believe Tom it would not make any difference. It looks to be out of emotional guilt that he needed to write so much. Poor Tom.
