Wie jedes Jahr suchen wir ab etwa März/April 2017 eine weibliche Kraft für mehrere Monate für Arbeit in unserem Hotel und Restaurant.
Irena ist Ende November wieder nach Polen zurück, nachdem sie, wie schon etliche Jahre, auch 2016 wieder einige Monate bei uns gearbeitet hat. Leider wird sie wohl 2017 nicht kommen können.
Neben dem Verdienst - so bemessen, daß er unter der Steuergrenze bleibt - werden unsere Kräfte angemeldet und bekommen Kost und Logis frei.

Zeugen Jehovas verkaufen ihren Königreichssaal in Grenzach-Wyhlen
Zum Preis von 340 000 Euro ist der Saal im Internet ausgeschrieben. Streben nach größeren Einheite.
Im Lindweg 14 in Wyhlen treffen sich die Zeugen Jehovas aus der Umgebung. Jetzt steht der Konigreichsaal für 340 000 Euro zum Verkauf. Gemeindemitglieder werden in Lörrach und Rheinfelden integriert. | Bild: Eva-Maria Klassen   Die Zeugen Jehovas verkaufen ihren Königreichssaal im Lindweg. Das 1971 erbaute Gemeindezentrum mit dem 1986 erstellten Anbau wurde vor zwei Jahren renoviert und befindet sich laut einer Immobilienanzeige im Internet „in einem sehr gepflegten Zustand“. Grund für den Verkauf ist unter anderem eine Neuausrichtung der Gemeindestrukturen der Zeugen Jehovas.
Für 340 000 Euro ist das Gebäude mit einer gesamten Nutzfläche von 260 Quadratmetern ausgeschrieben. Das Grundstück ist 549 Quadratmeter groß. Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich der Hauptsaal, zwei Toiletten und eine Garderobe im Eingangsbereich, im Untergeschoss sind zwei größere Besprechungsräume sowie weiterer Lagerplatz. Zurzeit wird das Objekt noch als Gemeindezentrum mit insgesamt 185 Sitzplätzen in den drei Räumen genutzt.
Der Königreichssaal ist der zentrale Treffpunkt der Gemeinde und wird in einer Information aus der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit der Zeugen Jehovas im Zweigbüro Zentraleuropa in Selters im Taunus als Kirchengebäude bezeichnet. Als Grund für die Aufgabe des Königreichssaals vermeldet die Zentrale in Selters „einerseits in näherer Zukunft anfallende Renovierungsarbeiten“. Andererseits wolle man auch Königreichssaalgebäude im näheren Umkreis besser ausgelastet wissen. Aus diesem Grund werden die ungefähr 80 Glaubensangehörigen der sogenannten Versammlung Grenzach-Wyhlen, also vergleichbar einer Kirchengemeinde, in die beiden Nachbargemeinden Lörrach und Rheinfelden integriert.
  Bereits im September 2015 hatte die Versammlung Weil am Rhein ihr Gebäude veräußert, das die Lörracher Freikirche Gemeinde Gottes erworben hatte. Als Grund für die Aufgabe des dortigen Saals der Zeugen Jehovas war unter anderem auch die Parksituation genannt worden, die im Lindweg auch eine Rolle spielt, wie im Gespräch zu erfahren war. Zwar gibt es mehrere Parkplätze am Saal, aber nicht so viele, wie zuletzt benötigt worden seien. Zudem hieß es in einem Artikel über den Weiler Verkauf, dass die Zentrale in Selters, wie auch die katholische und evangelische Kirche, bestrebt sei, größere Einheiten zu bilden. Die Gemeindemitglieder der Zeugen Jehovas aus Weil wechselten nach Lörrach.
Der Verkauf des Wyhlener Königreichssaals ist auch eine Folge des Bestrebens nach größeren Einheiten. „Aufgrund der guten Lage und den vorhandenen Parkplätzen wäre eine Nutzung des Hauses als Büro, Praxis, Schulungsräume oder ein Gewerbe mit Platzbedarf umsetzbar, wobei eine Umnutzung vom Käufer beantragt werden muss“, heißt es in der Verkaufsanzeige. Laut Informationen des Bauamts Grenzach-Wyhlen handelt es sich beim Lindweg, der im gleichnamigen Bebauungsplan bauleitplanerisch geregelt wird, um ein allgemeines Wohngebiet. Bürgermeister Tobias Benz war auf Anfrage von dem anstehenden Verkauf noch nichts bekannt.
Dabei schaue sich die Gemeindeverwaltung grundsätzlich Objekte an, ob sie eventuell auch für eine öffentliche Nutzung geeignet sein könnten. Ob dies auf das Objekt der Zeugen Jehovas zutreffe, könne er nicht sagen.
Bei den Zeugen Jehovas ist man jedenfalls zuversichtlich, das Gebäude bald verkauft zu bekommen. Es gebe durchaus Interesse daran. Informationen über eine mögliche Nachnutzung würden aber erst möglich, wenn dies feststünde.
Stefan Petryna, als Koordinator der Versammlung Grenzach-Wyhlen sozusagen ein Gemeindeoberhaupt, ließ schriftlich mitteilen: „Wir haben uns im Lindweg sehr wohlgefühlt. Hervorzuheben ist das jahrelange harmonische Zusammenwirken mit den Nachbarn. Dafür möchten wir uns schon jetzt herzlich bedanken.“

Success—Despite Opposition
Translating and printing was one thing. Getting the Bibles to Britain was another. Church agents and secular authorities were determined to prevent shipments across the English Channel, but friendly merchants had the answer. Hidden in bales of cloth and other merchandise, the volumes were smuggled to the shores of England and up into Scotland. Tyndale was encouraged, but his fight had only begun.
On February 11, 1526, Cardinal Wolsey, accompanied by 36 bishops and other church dignitaries, assembled near St. Paul’s Cathedral in London “to see great basketfuls of books cast into a fire.” Included among them were some copies of Tyndale’s precious translation. Of this first edition, there are now just two copies extant. The only complete one (lacking just the title page) is in the British Library. Ironically, the other, with 71 pages missing, was discovered in St. Paul’s Cathedral Library. How it got there, nobody knows.
Undaunted, Tyndale continued to produce fresh editions of his translation, which were systematically confiscated and burned by English clerics. Then Tunstall changed tactics. He struck a bargain with a merchant named Augustine Packington to buy any books written by Tyndale, including the New Testament, in order to burn them. This was arranged with Tyndale, with whom Packington had made an agreement. Halle’s Chronicle says: “The bishop had the books, Packington had the thanks, and Tyndale had the money. Afterward when more New Testaments were imprinted, they came thick and threefold into England.”
Why were the clergy so bitterly opposed to Tyndale’s translation? Whereas the Latin Vulgate tended to veil the sacred text, Tyndale’s rendering from the original Greek for the first time conveyed the Bible’s message in clear language to the English people. For example, Tyndale chose to translate the Greek word a·gaʹpe as “love” instead of “charity” in 1 Corinthians chapter 13. He insisted on “congregation” rather than “church” to emphasize worshipers, not church buildings. The last straw for the clergy, however, came when Tyndale replaced “priest” with “elder” and used “repent” rather than “do penance,” thereby stripping the clergy of their assumed priestly powers. David Daniell says in this regard: “Purgatory is not there; there is no aural confession and penance. Two supports of the Church’s wealth and power collapsed.” (William Tyndale—A Biography) That was the challenge Tyndale’s translation presented, and modern scholarship fully endorses the accuracy of his choice of words.
