Srecko Sostar got a reaction from JOHN BUTLER in What concept/concepts is behind the term "inspired"?
Inspired ....spirit-driven.... spirit-guided.....motivated.....to have spirit of....lead up by spirit....to feel that spirit leads us ..... spirit impelled him .... he came in the spirit....sent out by the spirit....spirit did not permit them.....bound by the spirit...he was in the spirit....carried him away in the spirit... and many more other phrases in the Bible.
Why JW's mostly, generally think that "inspiration" is action reserved only to JHVH and Jesus or devil and demons?
"Inspiration" is state/condition of some person soul, mind and emotions.  The biblical / religious state of inspiration comes mainly out of the will of the people. But do you think how this is something that can be  achieved/put on/force upon only by the actions of superhuman powers?
JW's are very occupied with their religion in own life and have specific relationship to this word and have specific (organizational) understanding of the concept about this special word - inspired. They think, I think that they do think :)), about this word only in religious sense and consider how it is about or only about some sort of divinity or divine holiness (or devil evil) in background.
Because they attach great importance to this word in only one direction, they forget that there is also a very powerful influence of another force. It's the spirit of man. JW's must recall themselves more often that people are created on the image of God. And that all people in themselves have a strong spirit (of divine source by birth and genetically inherited). This human spirit is powerful and can inspire other people (earthly spirits) around them. You, as individual can be inspired by people around you or by people about whom you hear about, you are watching, you read about.
Also it is interesting how some other things can inspire people. For example; nature, music, poetry, stories, events, animals, imagination.
Please, join to this topic and give, express your thoughts. Let your spirit free and let's inspire others :)))

If I was you, TTH, I would worry less about Gregg G. Stafford's efforts to turn Jehovah's Witnesses' life, culture, and theology into museum pieces, and more about the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses doing just that.
The efforts of the GB cause millions of people to "come into the Truth", but they also chase millions of people away, after they do.
It's like a person who makes his fortune in New York City, and finds that the City and State do not consider him to be a citizen, as much as they consider him a cash cow.
There is nothing more portable than people with money who are tired of being treated badly by State and local governing bodies, and when they find they have no voice at all to protest this treatment, they realize that they can vote with their feet, and take their wallets with them, leaving the States and Cities to become museum pieces in a slow, tragic death spiral.
Detroit is a classic example ...one of many.
The same is becoming more and more true about Jehovah's Witnesses, who often, unless they are mindless sycophants,  chafe and tire of the uninspired and erroneous, and heavy handed (in a silk glove) treatment they get in pursuing equity and Justice, and Truth.
So ... they take the Truth they have with them, and their wallets with them, like spilled gold dust disappearing  through cracks in the floor.
They too ... vote with their feet ... and their wallets ... leaving the Organization to be surrounded with sycophants, admiring their Telly Awards, and cartoon evangelizers.

Srecko Sostar reacted to Evacuated in What concept/concepts is behind the term "inspired"?
Actually they don't. They are quite happy with the secular definition of the English word Inspiration  (Click to view)
However they do believe that the Greek word θεόπνευστος (theopneustos), translated as "inspired of God" is a word used uniquely of the Holy Scriptures. The English rendering used in the NWT2013 is quite  acceptable. It is self explanatory really, as the word literally translates as god-breathed, being a compound of the word Theos, God and pneo, to breathe.
The word used to describe demonic teachings or utterances is a little different, but the concept of wicked spirits using complicit humans for the transmission of lies and propoganda is an acceptable Biblical teaching.
The use of the English word "inspired" with appropriate qualifiers is quite clear in it's specific application to Biblical concepts as it is also in a variety of secular contexts. The dictionary definition makes these clear.
All such definitions are acceptable and in regular use by Jehovah's Witnesses.

Srecko Sostar reacted to JW Insider in Helicopter crash landed on "my" building
For several years I worked for the same company, and when I moved into 787 7th Avenue, I had my first corner office on the 40th floor. An incredible view of Central Park and the Hudson River. The building is over 50 stories, and they used to have a company subsidized restaurant with several chefs to accommodate staff meetings and high profile clients on the top floor. I could get fantastic meals and make appointments with friends and family to come on up and show off our "Windows on the World" private restaurant. Then a French company bought our company out for a few billion, and all those expensive (and wasteful) perks disappeared, but I got to keep my nice corner office for a few more years.
So I'm retired now, and haven't been in the building for a while, except to pass through the marble lobby as a scenic shortcut, and check out an art museum they still keep in it.
But today, a helicopter crash-landed on the roof, and it killed the pilot. It also started a fire and a full evacuation ensued. They say it took half-an-hour just to get down from the 29th floor, so I can imagine what it would have been like from the 40th or 50th. It must have felt like 9/11 to some of them.

@TrueTomHarley  Um, the GB / org do not do social media, ok. But they do broadcasts.
But I'm sure I've seen evidence that when people want to talk to the GB face to face, to ask questions ect, the GB have refused interviews and conversations.  The GB seem to live behind locked gates. So how is a person to express their feelings or ask questions ?  Obvious answer is social media.
Plus, many of us feel the need to warn other people about the dangers of the JW Org. Where is better than social media ?
My FB page about Ex JW's has just reached :-  You've just reached 900 Page likes. Good job!
It's not a lot but i don't promote it and hardly upload anything to it. People are finding it. People are talking about it, so it does a small amount of good. If I can give a few people a little information about the problems in the JW Org the n I'm happy to do just that.
We can agree on this one thing  “wisdom is proved righteous by its works.” Hence its easy to see that the GB are not wise in a spiritual way.  Of course they may have the 'wisdom of the world' with their high paid Lawyers doing their dirty work for them, just as the Romans did the dirty work for the religious leaders of the Jews, buy killing Jesus.
Quote : The common view of opposers is that the Witness headship is telling members what to do,....
Tom, do you really forget that most people you call 'opposers' are actually Ex JW's ?  They have been there, witnessed it all. It's not hearsay it's real experiences. You know, more real than those 'experiences' they do on the 'platform'.  Who are you trying to fool  Tom ? Yourself maybe.

work alongside people we don't necessarily trust. Children do it all the time. Some people say Look at those children playing together', but when you look closely you will see children playing alongside each other. Each child is doing their own thing.
The secret is not to get emotional about it. Life can be very practical. Being retired I can choose what I do and when I do it. My wife chooses what she will do and when she will do it. Sometimes we choose to go places together. We share the housework. She cooks I wash up. She visits her mum and the children, i work on the cars and do the garden :)
None of it involves trust or love. It is just practical living.
As for people outside, I have no need to trust anyone, I'm quite independent at the moment.  Mixing with people does not involve trust. I go to auctions to view and sometimes buy,  i converse with the staff and others there but it does not involve trust.
Think deeply for a while, how many things truly involve trust? Most things in life are just practical or natural things.

Literalness. Unlike paraphrased translations, the New World Translation renders words literally as long as doing so does not result in awkward wording or hide the thought of the original writings. Translations that paraphrase the Bible’s original text may insert human opinions or omit important details.
Um, I think this has been disproved. I think the word BIAS comes in somewhere.

Then you are right back to the points you were making with Outta Here about whether "spirit-directed" means the same as "inspired."
This is a big topic to explore:
It would be easy to imagine that the two words mean the same thing. We wouldn't be surprised at all if we looked up "inspired" in any dictionary and found one of the definitions to be "directed by the Holy Spirit" and perhaps another to be "directed by evil spirits." In fact the expression "borne along by holy spirit" in the Bible means inspired. Some translations say "carried along by Holy Spirit." The NWT now says:
(2 Peter 1:21) . . .For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit.
The word translated "moved" refers to "being driven" (in fact the German word fuhren, to drive or to be conducted, is allied with the Greek word phero used here). If you conduct something, like a cow through a field, you are directing that cow. If you are blowing wind into the sails of a toy boat, you are driving or conducting or directing that boat. So being moved by holy spirit means being spirit directed, and here, it also means inspired.
In our definitions among JWs, we treat the idea of spirit and holy spirit a lot more passively than the NT does.  We no longer say that a specific person is spirit directed. Only that the organization as a whole is spirit directed.
There was a time when "we" (Bible Students and early Jehovah's Witnesses) might even say that Russell or Rutherford was spirit directed. But we didn't stop there. We even thought that Russell was himself spirit directing the Society after he died. (Therefore he could even write a book post-humously and be considered the author, even though only about half of what was in there was actually based on his own earlier writings.) A woman could be spirit-directed in writing a book supposedly directed by one of the fallen angels who came down before the Flood of Noah's day. With a few corrections, her book could be re-packaged, promoted and sold through the Watch Tower Society. Just a few years ago Brother Herd from the Governing Body recommended the book as interesting reading after he found it in the Bethel Library.
A politician in England who agreed with Rutherford could be considered to be have the spirit of the Old Testament prophets, and be a prophet just like Rutherford was considered to be. There was no shame in stating that Rutherford had the spirit of the Old Testament prophets. There was no shame in stating that Russell was the "angel of the church of Laodicea" the "seventh messenger" of Revelation, and that he was personally the "faithful and wise servant" who provided food to the domestics at the proper time.
Then, in Rutherford's day, there were those "flashes of light" in Jehovah's temple. Not always considered to have been from Holy Spirit, but at least considered to have been directed from angels. We considered "1935" and the new understanding of the "great multitude" (great crowd) to be one of those flashes of light in God's holy temple, and we considered the new understanding that the "higher powers"/"superior authorities" were no longer the secular authorities to be another of those "flashes of light." But then we changed our view on the latter "flash" completely (180 degrees), and changed many of our views on 1935 too.
The Watchtower publications have explicitly stated that they do not feel that the translation (NWT) is inspired. But (and this is mostly for John and Billy) the Watchtower has found scholarly support for the translation in general. See here for example:

Because..... the whole organization with all guardians of doctrine who has made approval, gave green light for, of every Bible edition ......  is spirit-directed......supposedly.

I think how in this complexity of Trust Issue (on various fields, in various places and with various people) things are in so wide specter of colors with much/lot, lot of white and black too.
But, main thing is thus, if you not trust someone , or have lost your trust in someone ... wall is very big/high.

@JW Insider  Quote "Those who have seen the evil in people up close and personally may actually have a keener "intuitive" sense of potential evil. Or perhaps that "intuitive" sense has been destroyed for the same reasons. I have no idea, so I am not trying to answer John directly on this topic."
In a nutshell. I suffered 3½ years of sexual abuse, physical abuse and emotional abuse in a Children's Home, from age 13 to 16½. It was suffer and keep quiet, or be moved into an Approved School, which i was assured was 10 times worse.  We didn't have sex education back then so i was very nieve, and I was under the 'care' of the council (local government) so could not just walk away from it. I could not report it to the police as they were all part of the same system and i would have been 'moved'.

@BillyTheKid46 Quote  " The irony, you attack the GB when your heart in no better than the soulless being you present, not just here but elsewhere. "
The difference being that i don't pretend to know the truth, and i don't want power over others. I don't make rules for others to follow. I do not mislead anyone as I do not try to 'take the lead' in any way.
I do not pretend that i am the 'Faithful and discreet slave' of God through Christ.
And I'm not frightened to admit that i have no love or trust in anyone.
But then i don't hide pedophiles either, and I don't tell people how tight or loose their clothes should be. I don't make up rules about who can speak to who. I don't write magazines that tell deliberate lies about what God requires of us. I don't make up rules about the use of blood and then change those rules at a later date.
I am only responsible for me. Your GB has made itself responsible for millions of people, but they have no proof that the responsibility is guided by God or Christ.
Your GB has no love of people, only love of power over people. Your GB does not care about the victims of Child Sexual Abuse, they only care about 'their' money being spent in compensation.
Your GB is prepared to sacrifice innocent lives to cover up the wickedness of the W/t and the JW Org.
Your GB 'cleans the outside of the dish or bowl, but leaves the inside full of disgusting things'.
And you Billy just worship your GB so much that you are completely blind to it all.

An elder told my son once that obeying the “slave” no matter what is taught, is a means to an end.
What is the end?  A good reputation with God?  Eternal life?   How does one receive life from blind doctrine and made up rules such as, “counting time” in the ministry?  What does that prove, but that the organization needs to tweak things here and there to stay afloat?
This poor elder struggles against his very conscience of what is right and what is wrong.  He chooses the wrong, thinking he will be rewarded by his obedience to men who have convinced him that they are appointed by God.
It is so disheartening.  When would God ever expect us to listen to lies?

    @JOHN BUTLER
Idea is not just "stupid" but also impossible. Read again last sentence conclusion that @Anna made by quoting WT magazine.
In an effort to protect their intellectual and copyright law (ahahaha) and to blur the vision of the reader or the believer / follower, to justifies all past and future failure in any, any matter they reached for The Words that Jesus never said, according to Bible, OT or NT scriptures !!!!!
Another funny idea can be filtered from the way they made explanation; Jesus did not tell us. From this we can make funny conclusion, but who knows, maybe editor of article truly believes in possibility that Jesus somehow told them with some Voice from Heaven, in a Dream, before this edition of WT magazine went to printing; I never told you and never promised you that i will supplied you with perfect spiritual food!
Today's WT study (Nov 2016) p.15 par.9:  "Some may feel that they can interpret the Bible on their own. However, Jesus has appointed the ‘faithful slave’ to be the only channel for dispensing spiritual food. Since 1919, the glorified Jesus Christ has been using that slave to help his followers understand God’s own Book and heed its directives.’"
    And
WT Feb.2017 p.26. par.12 " The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, the Watch Tower Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870".
It seems that the key to making sense of these 2 seemingly opposing quotes is in the above paragraph if we continue reading: " Of course, Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food".

If people follow such teachings and kill themselves, it is loss of their own lives and wasted effort.
But when people, as in example you gave with Uriah, successfully implement to kill somebody (spiritual or literal dead) because of teaching aka instruction from some men ...... than is not enough to make just intellectual disagreement and do a job.... but refuse to do so.

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”  1 John 4:1
Jesus gave us complete directions on how to do “test the spirits”.  Notice what Jesus said:
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  Every branch in me that does not produce fruit he removes, and he prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  Remain in me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.
My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be my disciples.”  John 15:5,8

This “fruit” that Jesus speaks of, is the teaching of pure, clean truth.  It cannot be a “present truth” or a past truth, or a “let’s suppose” type of truth, or “evidently” a truth.  It is sourced in the vine, the Head of the anointed Body. Eph 5:23; Col 1:18
Can we be fooled into thinking that all anointed priests are attached to the vine of Christ?  In my years in the organization, I was greatly fooled.  In fact, these scriptures held little deep meaning for me.  I simply believed that “nourishing spiritual food” was made available in the form of magazines and oral presentations; and I could count on the governing body to provide this food, which was then dispersed by the elder body.  What I didn’t realize, is that the word, “truth” became generalized, all-encompassing, by including the opinions of men that became “doctrine”.
This is not what Jesus meant when he said, “bear much fruit”.  The opinions and doctrine of men cannot bring us life.  Only the Holy Spirit that flows through the vine, is life-giving.

Jesus is the TRUE "vine"...those anointed in union with him, are the "branches" (John 15:4,5).
What they receive from Jesus (the "nourishing sap" -Rom 11:17; Rev 22:16), is holy spirit (Rom 5:5).
The branches are to express that spirit (Luke 5:45), as God (the "vine's cultivator -John 15:1) has determined and distributed (1 Cor 12:4,11,18,28; 7:7; Eph 4:7; Heb 2:4).
Those branches are then expected to produce fruit (John 15:2,6; Matt 7:19; Gal 5:22,25; Eph 4:29,12,16; Luke 6:45,44)...which include sayings of life... fruit which is filled with that living water/holy spirit sourced in Christ, the true vine (Rev 22:17). Those who eat the fruit of the true vine and it's true branches, will live!
This is why, not only is Christ the Tree of Life,
his 144000 also are (Rev 22:1,2; John 13:20).
So, when God's spirit is sent out into the earth (in order to examine hearts, give understanding, provide life, judge, etc.), it is channeled through the person of Jesus Christ. He is the mediator between God and man (including Adam) (1 Tim 2:5,6,4), even back in Eden   (John 1:1-4,18) (Gen 3:8).
    (Pearl Doxsey – “The Garden of Eden/New Creation/Seven Spirits/Tree of Life/The true Vine, 4womaninthewilderness)
If religious leaders deceive us by saying truth includes men’s theories and doctrine, and with it expectations to uphold any and all teachings, we most certainly should conclude their teachings are not “sound”. We may surmise that another vine exists with branches producing an abundant deadly fruit, source in another spirit – the spirit of deception.  2 Tim 4:3,4; Titus 2:7,8; 2 Thess 2:9-12

Pearl’s words:     Wine is a product of the "vine" (see John 15:5,16; Heb 13:15). Yes, without Jesus Christ the true vine...sending Holy Spirit to those branches that remain "in union" with him (John 15:5B; 1 John 2:28) there will be no "fruit" (Matt 7:20,17; 12:33,35,37; John 7:16-18).

That spiritual fruit produced (teachings, sayings)
and it's wine (fruit made ready for spiritual ingestion)
are the end product of Holy Spirit being poured out upon anointed prophets
    (1 John 2:20,27; John 16:13; Exod 4:12; Matt 10:20; Rev 11:3,4; Zech 4:14; Mark 9:4).

That wine can be fine truths sourced in God's holy spirit...
or the false prophets who bear rotten fruit (Matt 7:15,16; 12:33,34; John 7:18). The false prophets will offer poisonous wine...doctrines leading to death (Jer 2:21; Deut 32:33,32; Ps 140:3; Rom 3:13).

God tells us the future of these anointed who leave the "True Vine" Christ, in order to mislead for the profit of their own power and glory(John 7:18A; Jer 25:30,29; Rev 18:3,4; 14:18,19)   These forbid partaking of the True "olive oil and the wine" (Rev 6:6; 13:17).
The scriptures tell us of another vine where the branches are leaders and priests who have left the “True Vine” Christ.
    Deut 32:28,29,32,33:
Israel is a nation lacking sense
    with no understanding at all.
     If only they were wise, they would comprehend this;
    they would understand their fate.
For their vine is from the vine of Sodom
and from the fields of Gomorrah.
    Their grapes are poisonous;
    their clusters are bitter.
    Their wine is serpents’ venom,
    the deadly poison of cobras.
The Bible speaks of spiritual “Israel” today as also a nation “without sense”, drunk on the poisonous wine of wayward teachings.  Heb 12:15; Rev 8:11;  Jer 51:7; Rev 18:3  Its fruit produced, is according to the wishes of men in a “city” compared to “Sodom and Egypt”. Gen 13:13; Isa 1:2,10; Rev 11:7,8
What comes from eating fruit from a branch of a vine other than Christ?  Freedom?  No, the scriptures say that this fruit is offered with a price; slavery and oppression with no chance of compromising without losing all that one may have known. Luke 21:24; Col 2:8; Rev 13:10; Matt 24:15; 2 Thess 2:4; Rev 9:3-5,10; 13:6,7,15
However, should any of us compromise when it comes to living truth?  John 17:17
“Calling the crowd along with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his stake, and follow me.  For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me and the gospel will save it.  For what does it benefit someone to gain the whole world and yet lose his life?  What can anyone give in exchange for his life?  For whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”  Mark 8:34-38
The Bible tells us that this city is steeped in harlotry, where God and “organization” rival for one’s devotion and service. Isa 1:21; 2 Cor 6:14,15; Rev 17:1,2; Rev 13:11,15,4  Jesus cleanses and restores a repentant remnant who perceive the distinction between the vine of Sodom leading to darkness and death, and the true vine of life in Christ. Rev 3:18,19; Isa 1:25-17; Mal 3:3; Rev 18:4-8    Rev 3:18,19; Isa 1:25-17; Mal 3:3; Rev 18:4-8

    Israel is a lush vine;
    it yields fruit for itself.
    The more his fruit increased,
the more he increased the altars.
    The better his land produced,
the better they made the sacred pillars.
    2 Their hearts are devious;
now they must bear their guilt.
The Lord will break down their altars
    and demolish their sacred pillars.
In fact, they are now saying,
    “We have no king!
For we do not fear the Lord.
What can a king do for us?”
    4 They speak mere words,
taking false oaths while making covenants.
    So lawsuits break out
like poisonous weeds in the furrows of a field.
    I will discipline them at my discretion;
nations will be gathered against them
    to put them in bondage
    for their double iniquity.
The high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, (Aven definition, “Bethel and its calf worship”)
    will be destroyed;
thorns and thistles will grow over their altars.
They will say to the mountains, “Cover us!”
and to the hills, “Fall on us!”
    Sow righteousness for yourselves
    and reap faithful love;
    break up your unplowed ground.
It is time to seek the Lord
until he comes and sends righteousness
    on you like the rain.
    13 You have plowed wickedness and reaped injustice;
you have eaten the fruit of lies.
Because you have trusted in your own way
and in your large number of soldiers  Hos 10:1-4,12,13

    Love Never Fails.
... and you don't need three days and 20 videos to explain it.
Remember the Elders that counseled Job for three days?  After three days they had said NOTHING of value, worth recording in what later became Scripture.
  20. Thanks

Translation is an ART ... not a science ... and some are very good at it ... and some are very bad at it ... and most are somewhere in the middle.
The 2013 NWT ( Silver Sword)  began using the term "brazen conduct" for the first time, to conform to the 2010 Super Secret (NOT!) Elder's handbook, which FIRST used that term, without any scriptural basis, referencing the OLD NWT ... or any (repeat ANY) other Bible translation in existence.
It's not in "The Emphatic Diaglott" by Benjamin Wilson ... and it's not in the "Kingdom Interlinear Translation" by the Society.
The Scriptures in the dumbed down 2013 "Silver Sword" NWT were changed to conform to the Elder's handbook, published THREE YEARS EARLIER.
Since I cannot comprehend Greek, I have to trust those two interlinear translation  books ... BOTH now published by the WTB&TS, by the way.
When I go out in Field Service, I take the "American Standard" version of the Bible, ALSO now published by the WTB&TS ... NOT the NWT.
    ( From Wikipedia ...)
" The ASV has also been used for many years by Jehovah's Witnesses. The reasons for their choosing of the ASV were twofold: its usage of "Jehovah" as the Divine Name, which was a translation of the Tetragrammaton (YHWH) into English as some early Bible scholars had done before (i.e. Tyndale at Ps. 83:18[9]). They also derived their name from Isaiah 43.10, 12, both of which contain the phrase, "Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah." Also, there was a perception that the ASV had improved the translation of some verses in the King James Version, and in other places it reduced the verses that they found to be erroneously translated in the KJV to mere footnotes, removed from the main text altogether.[10]
Jehovah's Witnesses' publishing organization, Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, had printed its own edition of the King James Version since 1926, but did not obtain the rights to print ASV until 1944. From 1944 to 1992, they printed and distributed over a million copies of the ASV. By the 1960s, the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, made by members of their group and the rights to which they controlled, had largely replaced ASV as the Bible used most by Witnesses.[11] Though now preferring the NWT, Jehovah's Witnesses' publications frequently quote from other translations, including ASV."

@JW Insider Quote "But there is another thing about this particular verse in Revelation 17:14. It's not translated correctly in the NWT."
I can't remember the scripture that says something about 'Anyone that adds to or subtracts from the scriptures, will suffer for it '. I know that is not exactly what it says but .......
Now, are you saying that the GB / Writing dept' deliberately mis-translate scripture, even adding in words, to suit their own purposes ?  Because that is what it looks like to me.
( Reminds me of 'torture stake' which I believe is not a true translation. )
Is that why the GB say not to get educated. Educated people can use Greek and Hebrew to English translations, and not just stick to the one NWT Bible.
It gets worse. Even the JW Bible cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Your words JWI  "It's not translated correctly in the NWT."

I appreciate your scholarship, JWI ... but I think I have PTSD, and no longer care.
I have been "Gogged and Magogged" to death over the last 50 years, and find, at least for me, there are MORE IMPORTANT things to occupy my attention ... down here, where the "rubber meets the road".
Things like Justice, Fairness, Equity, Gentleness, and Compassion.
Whatever the case is .... soon enough ... we will ALL KNOW,
    ... perhaps TOO SOON.
