  1. Former CEO Stumpf signed and certified documents with the regulator in 2015 and 2016, while he should have been aware of their misleading nature, the SEC said.
  2. Rather than adopting a comprehensive lockdown approach, Gounder told CNBC that state officials should focus on implementing tighter restrictions in regions of the country where there’s a high risk for the virus to spread, such as restaurants, bars and gyms, and aim to keep their schools open for students. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/13/biden-advisor-dr-gounder-says-covid-advisory-panel-doesnt-support-full-us-lockdown.html Why kill the businesses and then allow the children to mass gather in schools? INSANITY.....
  3. Wells Fargo’s former CEO and a top exec were charged by the SEC with misleading investors about the performance of the bank’s core business. https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/sec-charges-wells-fargo-former-ceo-top-exec-misleading-investors-2020-11-1029801623?utm_source=morning_brew
  4. Chevy is advising Bolt owners to change the charge settings on their vehicle to enable either “Hilltop Reserve” (for 2017 and 2018 model year vehicles) or “Target Charge Level” (for 2019 model year vehicles) using their vehicle’s infotainment center. Changing these settings will temporarily limit the vehicle’s state of charge to 90 percent. Customers who can’t make these changes should avoid parking their car in their garage or carport until after they have visited their dealer, Chevy warns. https://my.chevrolet.com/how-to-support/safety/boltevrecall
  5. “This is another insanely big story,” said Davis, referring to recent crypto adoption announcements by firms such as PayPal and Square. “It’s a big story for adoption, especially considering this is a Chinese state-owned bank that is officially accepting bitcoin in exchange for their bonds.” However, Davis questioned the fiscal wisdom of trading bitcoin for paper – many analysts believe bitcoin will be worth six figures in a year’s time. https://asiatimes.com/2020/11/worlds-second-biggest-bank-embraces-bitcoin/
  6. This is good for the environment AND will save a few lives in the process. This might not be good news for gold mines somewhere in Nicaragua however. I don't expect this to happen overnight though.
  7. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/nasa-moon-announcement-today-news-water-lunar-surface-wet-b1346311.html looks like there's more water than we expected on the moon, and hopefully that'll be useful for future astronauts!
  8. 22 September 2020 https://doi.org/10.1111/andr.12907 "This review obtained clues from basic research on other viruses to understand how the novel SARS‐CoV‐2 virus might generate pathogenic effects in male fertility. We highlighted that male fertility might be highly vulnerable to SARS‐CoV‐2 infection. Infection with this novel virus not only seriously threatens an individual's overall health, but also might lead to male infertility."

    Covid-19 + USA

CDC reports nearly 300,000 more deaths in 2020 than were expected Overall, an estimated 299,028 excess deaths occurred from late January through October 3, 2020, with 198,081 (66%) excess deaths attributed to COVID-19. The largest percentage increases were seen among adults aged 25–44 years and among Hispanic or Latino persons. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6942e2.htm
  15. The superbug is a yeast that can infect the ears and open wounds, and it can also enter the bloodstream to trigger severe infection throughout the body, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The yeast clings to surfaces and spreads easily in health care settings, especially among patients with catheters or other tubes that enter their bodies. Hospitals were keeping quiet about it as to not scare away patients for elective procedures
  16. Superbug may be spreading in hospitals overrun with COVID-19 https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2020/10/drug-resistant-superbug-candida-auris-thriving-hospitals-coronavirus-era/ “The doctor asked me to take a look … I thought, how bad can it be?” recalls Rhodes, an infectious disease expert at Imperial College London who studies antifungal resistance. Rhodes stepped in to help one of the world’s top cardiology hospitals identify the pathogen and clear it from the premises. The germ was Candida auris, little known at the time. What she saw stunned her: “You think COVID-19 is bad until you see Candida auris***.”*** Moreover patients who have tubes that go into their body, such as catheters or ones for breathing or feeding, are at the highest risk for C. auris infections, and these invasive procedures have become more common because of the respiratory failure associated with COVID-19.
  17. El Paso, Texas, issues stay-at-home order due to surge in COVID cases, says "all area hospitals have reached capacity" Also saw a story yesterday about how El Paso is airlifting some patients to other hospitals in Texas Hospitalizations in El Paso are up 300% in the past month hospitalizations in El Paso have increased 3x in the past two weeks alone. The latest official update from the Texas Department of State Health Services said the entire El Paso region had only 13 ICU beds remaining. For the 22nd largest city in the United States. So while there might be discrepancies/uncertainties in the exact number of beds remaining, the fact remains that COVID-19 inpatients are rapidly consuming an increasing amount of limited hospital resources. The public health intervention should have begun weeks ago once it was abundantly clear there was another outbreak occurring.
  18. Last Thursday (yes, 22 October), the health minister said that "without any new measures, there would be more than 50k cases/day in two weeks" and they've already reached this number. They thought they could control the virus while helping the economic recovery, when the test-trace-isolate system already had major problems. They're proposing authoritarian and inefficient measures, undermining the people's defiance towards the health measures. No support to telecomuting (Macron said "it isolates people", yeah it's useful in a pandemic mate) and low health protocols in schools (to avoid closing schools).
  19. People are now hosting parties at home.... in Spain people lower their masks to kiss and embrace.... The behavior shown above lasted only a short time sadly..... and now 1,000/day are dying in the USA.
