  1. Really ? I don't think so. What I've seen is people hiding behind a fake 'new personality'. And, what i've seen in more than one congregation is, adultery, dishonesty, misuse of power, lies and immorality. And of course CSA would not be a part of serving Yahweh with love and truth. But JWs on here are so frightened of anyone being an individual and serving Yahweh through Yeshua. Just look above at what Mr Rando accuses me of, and he is supposed to be a JW. Many of them are rotten right through, especially Elders that love the little bit of power. The one thing that stands out about JWs is that they need a material aim in their life. They need a physical thing to worship. Hence they worship the GB and the Org. You have proven this by asking for another organsation to compare it with.
  2. And now I'm accused of being part of a cult of pearl doxey. @The Librarian Please warn this commenter of thier wrongful behavior
  3. I have reported MR Rando and hopefully @The Librarian or @JW Insider or some other moderator will give him a warning and hopefully make it clear to me that Mr Rando has been given a warning. JWI made comment to Mr Rando but I would prefer Mr Rando was given a proper warning. I have been warned and asked to be polite, and i see no need for the insults and accusations I have received from Mr Rando. I hope this incident will be attended to. Back on topic. It has been proven that the name Jehovah IS a made up name and hopefully i will not need to use. It has also been proven from their own words in print, that the Watchtower leaders admitted that the name Yahweh was more reliable as correct than the name they chose to use, just because jehovah was commonly known at the time. Peace and love to all. We will all be judged by Yeshua.
  4. http://www.yhwh.com/jehovah.htm A Detailed History of the name "Jehovah" Researched (and greatly appreciated) for The Church of Yahweh By Jeroen Ashton In 1278 a spanish monk, Raymundo Martini, wrote the latin work PUGIO FIDEI (Dagger of faith). In it he used the name of God, spelling it Yohoua. Later printings of this work, dated some centuries later, used the spelling JEHOVA. Soon after, in 1303, Porchetus de Salvaticis completed a work entitled VICTORIA PORCHETI AVERSUS IMPIOS HEBRAEOS (Porchetus' Victory Against the Ungodly Hebrews). He spells God's name IOHOUAH, IOHOUA and IHOUAH. Then, in 1518, Petrus Galatinus, a Catholic priest born in the late 1400's, published a work entitled DE ARCANIS CATHOLICAE VERITATIS (Concerning Secrets of the Universal Truth) in which he spelled God's name IEHOUA. Now, the direct answer to your question: the name "Jehovah" first appeared in an English BIBLE in 1530, when William Tyndale published a translation of the Chumash (the first five books of the Bible). In this, he included the name of God, usually spelled IEHOUAH, in several verses (Genesis 15:2; Exodus 6:3; 15:3; 17:6; 23:17; 33:19; 34:23; Deuteronomy 3:24. Tyndale also included God's name in Ezekiel 18:23 and 36:23 in his translations that were added at the end of THE NEW TESTAMENT, Antwerp, 1534), and in a note in this editon he wrote: "Iehovah is God's name... moreover as oft as thou seist LORD in great letters (except there be any error in the printing) is is in Hebrew Iehovah." (Please note as I told you previously, there was no "J" in English at this time; the J is a product of a stylized I; thus giving us the current Jehovah rather than the Old English Iehovah. The "u" used in the above names is also a reminder that there was no "v" in Old English, as you can read David in the original King James version was written "Dauid".) In 1534 Martin Luther published his complete translation of the Bible in German, based on the original languages. While he used the German "Herr" (Lord or Sir) for the Tetragrammaton, in a sermon which he delivered in 1526 on Jeremiah 23:1-8, he said, "The name Jehovah, Lord, belongs exclusively to the true God." Subsequently, Jehovah was used not only in the "Authorized" King James version of 1611, but the Spanish VALERA version of 1602, the Portugese ALMEIDA version of 1681, the German ELBERFELDER version of 1871, and the American Standard Version of 1901. It appears that the Jerusalem Bible was the first one to used Yahweh instead of Lord and Jehovah. ENCYCLOPÆDIA BRITANNICA (used without permission) Yahweh the God of the Israelites, his name being revealed to Moses as four Hebrew CONSONANTS (YHWH) CALLED THE TETRAGRAMMATON. AFTER THE EXILE (6TH CENTURY BC), and especially from the 3rd century BC on, Jews ceased to use the name Yahweh for two reasons. As Judaism became a universal religion through its proselytizing in the Greco-Roman world, the more common noun elohim, meaning "god," tended to replace Yahweh to demonstrate the universal sovereignty of Israel's God over all others. At the same time, the divine name was increasingly regarded as too sacred to be uttered; it was thus replaced vocally in the synagogue ritual by the Hebrew word Adonai ("My Lord"), which was translated as Kyrios ("Lord") in the Septuagint, the Greek version of the Old Testament. The Masoretes, who from about the 6th to the 10th century worked to reproduce the original text of the Hebrew Bible, replaced the vowels of the name YHWH with the vowel signs of the Hebrew words Adonai ("Lord", editor) or Elohim ("God", editor). Thus, the artificial name Jehovah (YeHoWaH) (emphasis ours, ed.) came into being. Although Christian scholars after the Renaissance and Reformation periods used the term Jehovah for YHWH, in the 19th and 20th centuries biblical scholars again began to use the form Yahweh. Early Christian writers, such as Clement of Alexandria in the 2nd century, had used a form like Yahweh, and this pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton was never really lost. Other Greek transcriptions also indicated that YHWH should be pronounced Yahweh.
  5. No i can't. I am 72 years old and my concentration / deep research ability has long gone. ( The letter 'W' started during the Middle Ages, with the scribes of Charlemagne writing two 'u's' side by side, separated by a space. At that time the sound made was similar to 'v. ' The letter appeared in print as a unique letter 'W' in 1700. ) When I started being brainwashed by JWs (in the 1960's) I was told that the tetragrammaton was YHWH. Having done a little research I find that most people agree with YHWH. I also read for myself in JW literature way back then, that the leaders of the religion believed that God's name was Yahweh, but that the name Jehovah was more acceptable and that is why they used it. The Leaders of your religion said it was YHWH, and they said it was YAHWEH. Many many people that have studied the Scriptures will agree it is YHWH and Yahweh. But, your religion were frightened to be honest. They had NO faith to use God's true name. Or, they were controlled by a wicked spirit to use the false name instead of the true name. It now seems that the ancient Egyptians, that had no reason to lie, gave proof of God's name being Yahweh.
  6. Hello rambo, I see you are being your normal JW self. Being as nasty as ever. Reminds me of a certain other religion being called the religion of 'peace'. By the way, I was born in 1949, and the letter J did exist then, but I don't expect you to think that deeply. The letter J was first distinguished from 'I' by the Frenchman Pierre Ramus in the 16th century, but did not become common in Modern English until the 17th century, so that early 17th century works such as the first edition of the King James Version of the Bible (1611) continued to print the name with an I. https://www.christianity.com/jesus/is-jesus-god/names-of-jesus/yeshua-yashua-y-shua-or-jesus-which-is-right.html Quote Origin of the name "Jesus" - Hebrew or Greek? Since the entire New Testament is written in Greek, not Hebrew, it suggests that God does not consider it inappropriate to use a name or title for Christ in keeping with that of another language or culture. The New Testament repeatedly calls the Hebrew Messiah by Greek names, several of them. The inspired writings of the apostles refer to Yashua with other linguistic renderings pronounced differently. Yeshua and the Jewish apostles frequently quoted from the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures, which was frequently read and studied by Jews in the New Testament era. Yashua vs Yeshua Yashua is not an undisputed form, but due to the absence of Hebrew vowels is variously rendered YESHUA or Y'SHUA or YAHSHUA. My messianic friends mostly call Him Yeshua. But I am happy with any of these since they refer to the same person, my beloved Savior. When I spent time in China the believers did not call the Messiah either Yashua or Yeshua or Jesus. There are more than two hundred Chinese dialects and each one has a different pronunciation. In Mandarin, the two characters for Christ's name are read "YE-SU," in Cantonese "YE-SOU," in Taiwanese "YA-SAW," and in Hakka "YA-SU." And isn't it just lovely to see how @Arauna approves of rambo's insulting comments. Doesn't it just show how this 'loving' false religion works. By their works you will know them. Yes indeed, by their false religious ways, lies and insults, we do know them.
  7. Oh dear. Are you all pretending that you do not use any foreign words ? I think one of @Arauna's favourites is M. O. modus operandi which is Latin. Modus operandi is a Latin term used in English-speaking circles ............. Then there is 'cul-de-sac' meaning dead end road. It's French but English speaking people use the term. So why would anyone not want to use the correct name for Almighty God, YAHWEH. And why not YESHUA for the Son of God. English speaking people do not have to use only English words.
  8. Almighty God = YHWH most likely Yahweh The Son of God = Yeshua
  9. I don't know if these are your own words or quotes from elsewhere but the name YAHWEH seems to occur a lot. Can you give me a 'good reason' why there is any need to change YAHWEH into Jehovah ? Surely YAHWEH can be used in English so why would it need changing ? Could it not be seen as blasphemy and against scripture to remove God's real name and then put in a 'made up name' for God ? Doesn't God tell us it is a sin to remove or to add anything to scripture ?
  10. You seem to be showing your true colours now, and I can now understand why I was d/fed from this forum before. Spoken like a true Elder. And if I did the above you would d/fed me again.
  11. Quotes from the said article HOW early in history does the divine name, Jehovah, or Yahweh, appear in sources outside the Bible? Some scholars confidently answer: As early as the 14th century B.C.E. Why do they say that? When archaeologists discovered that temple, they found an Egyptian hieroglyphic that appears to show the Hebrew Tetragrammaton—YHWH, The list of subjugated lands displayed at Soleb includes one that has variously been read “Yahwe in the Shosou land,” “The Shasu land of Jahu,” or “Land of the Shasu-yhw.” Egyptologist Jean Leclant says that the name that appears inscribed in the shield at Soleb “corresponds to the ‘tetragram’ of the god of the Bible, YHWH.” Soleb is not the only place in Nubia where the name Yahwe appears in Egyptian hieroglyphics. the hieroglyphic for “Yahwe in the Shosou land” appears close to those for other Shosou territories, This article proves YAHWEH is correct BUT then the article completely changes direction and says :- "Unlike the names of other gods that appear in ancient inscriptions, the name of the God of the Bible, Jehovah, is still widely used and revered." How could anyone with a Christian conscience prove that YAHWEH is correct but then pretend that the name Jehovah is the same ?
  12. I didn't mean the location or the column. I meant is his explanation correct, as @Arauna seems to dispute it. If you look at @Arauna's comment dated Thursday 6.35 you will see that she has doubts. I am now stuck in the middle as I'd love to believe that God's true name is YAHWEH but Arauna seems to think these early hieroglyphs are not being represented properly. This sentance needs an explanation but you'd probably want to do that elsewhere. Origins of which Name ?
  13. *** New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures, 1950, Foreword, p.25 *** While inclining to view the pronunciation "Yah-weh'" as the more correct way, But Mr Carroll still advertises the company name.
  14. CURRENCY and FAMILIARITY = MAN MADE TRADITION CUSTOM = man made tradition. And then JW org / GB / Watchtower, pretend to be 'no part of this world' SO WHY FOLLOW TRADITIONS OF MEN. we have retained the form "Jehovah" because of people's familiarity = MAN MADE TRADITION, or worse. Moreover, it preserves, equally with other forms, the four letters of the tetragrammaton JHVH. Now I was taught by JWs that YHWH was the four letters of the tetragrammaton. So one of them has to be a lie. And all the time they admit that While inclining to view the pronunciation "Yah-weh'" as the more correct way,
  15. Dear, @The Librarian it appears that @Arauna is telling you that this video is twaddle. I do keep saying that it is difficult to know what is truth and what isn't. Oh well, I'll keep using YHWH and you lot can use that false name you love so much. YHWH seems genuine but some here might not even agree with that.
  16. Seriously, I can't make out if you are agreeing, being sarcastic, or calling Egyptians liars. I haven't researched the video to find out how old this video is but I trust @The Librarian to have researched the authenticity of it. @The Librarian mentions in the title "Yahweh" (Tetragrammaton) aka "Jehovah" in Modern English. Why do you need a modern name for Almighty God. God who has always existed. God who will always exist. God who's name has such important meaning. Why would you need to change God's original name. In fact WHO would want to change God's original name. The only one that would want to wipe out God's original name is Satan the devil.
  17. And now I suppose you will call the Egyptians liars too. 1500 B. C. E. Egyptians say God of Israelites in YAHWEH. But JWs will continue to use a false name.
  18. Seriously, I can't make out if you are agreeing, being sarcastic, or calling Egyptians liars. 19. Thank you. Fantastic video. Proof that God's name is YAHWEH What more proof do you JWs need ? YHWH = YAHWEH. Remember that is from the 15th century B.C. The EARLIEST mention of God's name. Doesn't that contradict the Yehovah idea ? YAHWEH the only True God. Praise be to Yahweh through His son Yeshua.
  20. And still these pretend Christians sing the same old song, lies. Mr Caroll still spouting the same old lies about God's name, and still serving the Org. Arauna saying that is it Yehovah but still using Jehovah. Mr Rando coming up with many different names on his comments, but still thinks it's Jehovah. BUT it's still YHWH, and His son Yeshua. And look at that book stand in above comment. Do you see one Bible on offer ? NO. What you see on that stand is the words of men. JWs are just puppets offering the words of their GB. And the orgs logo, JW org. They have reduced the name of their god to just one letter, 'J'. Isn't that an insult ? Who do your serve ? JW Org. Who do you serve ? JW Org. Who do you serve ? JW Org. Who should you serve ? YHWH through Yeshua.
  21. I've never seen so many pathetic JWs as there are on here. All acting like children in the playground. All singing the same song. "You are apostates, you serve satan" The JWs sing it over and over again. No real answers so they sing this silly song. Then, instead of giving praise to GOD through Christ, They give praise to the JW org. So who really are the apostates ? Who really have turned their attention away from YHWH and Yeshua, and are now serving an organisation ? It is you that need to be careful.
