Thought for the day: Jehovah is God's name. It was originally in the Bible in over 7,000 places but has been removed by various bodies due to superstition etc. Micah 4:5 For all the people will walk, each in the name of it's god, But we will walk in the name of Jehovah our God forever and ever.

Romans 13:1-8, particularly note verses 6 and 7: "That is why you are also paying taxes...render to all their dues, to the one who calls for tax, the tax;..." 2 Cor 8:14 is speaking of contributions made so that those with more could equalize with those that had less...that calls for contributions, which is how we arrive here, our contributions are used to offset the needs of those that have less. I am more than happy to contribute donations for my brothers and sisters that may have needs that I don't. Jesus said the widow that dropped two small coins in, dropped in more than all the rest that dropped in out of their surplus, but she dropped in all she had, ergo, there were contributions being made, always have been. Mark 12:43 Hahaha...our buildings are not ornate, hahaha...thank you for that chuckle, they are clean, well kept and free of idols. I have to tell you, I am not manipulated by anyone to part with my cash. Again, the scriptures are replete with examples of donations given to further the worship of God. I can get into that if you like but I feel sure you already know.

We are fully aware that Jehovah brings salvation and that when that time of judgement arrives, we will all be judged individually. If there are those that someone here referred to as PIMOs (physically in, mentally out), they will be judged accordingly.

Apollos needed to adjust what he knew, don't miss the point. Ah well, we'll be able to find out what Priscilla and Aquila taught him in the new system. Are you considered an apostate? I understand that my dedication and baptism identifies me as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization. A reminder to work with God's spirit-directed organization. If I call myself one of Jehovah's Witnesses, others will reach the conclusion that I'm associated with Jehovah's organization.

Have a read of Acts 18:24-26. Here was Apollos, a Jew, well-versed in the scriptures and although he was speaking and teaching accurately the things about Jesus, he was acquainted only with the baptism of John, so what did Aquila and Priscilla do? they took him into their company and explained the way of God more accurately to him. Milk = what all of us learn at the start, Solid Food = what we come to learn over time.

Ah I see, your emphasis is on Christ alone with Jehovah in the background? We live by Christ's teachings, that is what it means to be a Christian.

The book is absolutely right, they do not beg for money. Maybe some brothers and sisters might come by some kind of windfall and choose to donate, that is their choice and nothing to do with you or me. I've been a JW for .....years, certainly long enough to know what goes on and I've never been begged for what belongs to Jehovah to begin with. What's your story? Still waiting for your proof concerning riches.

What makes you think I'm angry with you, not at all. All Christ's teachings are important. Throughout scripture Jehovah has given instruction, often more appropriate at a certain point in time than another. I suspect that the term core teachings, covers the basics and anything else may be what is learnt at a time more appropriate than another. Milk and solid food for example.

Why would we find some of Christ's teachings "less important", that is the sort of thinking that paves the way for going beyond it.

You have yet to provide some kind of proof for your claim concerning riches. If you cannot, then you fit your own bill written here.

The "light getting brighter" requires humility that waits on Jehovah to give His servants their food at the allotted time. It also allows for a refining of His people. What an absolute genius Jehovah is. 1 Cor 2:14
