  1. I have no idea about his morality, Moise, but he mumbled something that almost sounded like ‘Wallkill Bethelite’ at the beginning, then proceeded to speak as if he had no inside idea of: 1) what disfellowshipping is; carries on as if it is a permanent state with no way out 2) Repeatedly refers to JW’s as a cult 3) Signs off with an audible “Ex-Wallkill Bethelite“ 4) Repeatedly: speaks negatively about JWs and proposes legal or community action against JW’s because of their religious beliefs and practices. To save anyone from wasting their time listening to this, this man is an Apostate.
  2. Well, I don’t know what they are. I do know I try to become all things to all people or whatever Paul said about that.
  3. I’m with you on that ungrateful relative situation! Too many times I, also, have taken a ‘down and out’ woman into my home, only to be shocked at how they take advantage of it or have standards that I can’t handle in my home. We all have our strengths, weaknesses, idiosyncrasies. You rather remind of “the Sons of Thunder” whom Jesus chose to be among the 12: James & John. *** Insight, Vol. 2, p.91 *** “Early in their ministry as apostles, Jesus gave the surname Boanerges (meaning “Sons of Thunder”) to John and his brother James. (Mr 3:17) This title certainly does not denote any soft sentimentality or lack of vigor but, rather, dynamism of personality. When a Samaritan village refused to receive Jesus, these “Sons of Thunder” were ready to call down fire from heaven to annihilate its inhabitants. Previously, John had tried to prevent a man from expelling demons in Jesus’ name. Jesus gave reproof and correction in each case.—Lu 9:49-56. The two brothers on those occasions showed misunderstanding and, to a great extent, lacked the balance and the loving, merciful spirit that they later developed. Nevertheless, on these two occasions the brothers manifested a spirit of loyalty and a decisive, vigorous personality that, channeled in the right direction, made them strong, energetic, faithful witnesses. James died a martyr’s death at the hands of Herod Agrippa I (Ac 12:1, 2), and John endured as a pillar “in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in company with Jesus” as the last living apostle.—Re 1:9. When James and John apparently got their mother to request that they sit next to Christ in his Kingdom, they demonstrated an ambitious spirit that made the other apostles indignant. But it afforded Jesus a fine opportunity to explain that the one great among them would be the one who served the others. Then he pointed out that even He came to minister and to give his life a ransom for many. (Mt 20:20-28; Mr 10:35-45) However selfish their desire was, the incident reveals their faith in the reality of the Kingdom.“ Plus you provide more laughs than a barrel of monkeys. And don’t we need that in these ‘critical times hard to deal with?! 😱😭🤕🙏 😂😂🤣🤣
  4. Doesn’t sound Christlike to me… “The one who loves God should be loving his brother also.”—1 John 4:21 *** w68 10/1 p.592 *** What, though, is involved in loving fellow Christians? What is a proper relationship with them? How should we view our association with one another in the Christian congregation? The worldly view often is to seek friends or associates on the basis of what they can do to enhance one’s prestige and image. It is common for worldly persons to consider themselves superior or more important than others. Many times their attitude is to use others, to cheat or tread on them before others can do the same to them. But how different is the balanced Christian view! Note the inspired admonition of God’s Word: Do “nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with lowliness of mind considering that the others are superior to you, keeping an eye, not in personal interest upon just your own matters, but also in personal interest upon those of the others. Keep this mental attitude in you that was also in Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God’s form, . . . emptied himself and took a slave’s form.”—Phil. 2:2-7.
  5. @Anna@Allen Smith@Pudgy It’s 1am here, but I’m doing Zoom Mtg tomorrow at 10am. Being a night owl, I got back up realizing that I actually had been commenting while having missed a lot of the comments fixing dinner and then putting together my ever-disappearing ‘answers’ to Pudgy’s rhetorical questions. Were the questions real or a trap? Set others up with insincere questions, then mock and demean them as they try to answer? 🤷‍♀️ Regarding “sons of destruction” who will inherit Gehenna, like Judas did, the Scriptures also call the clergy, the ‘man of lawlessness’ by that term. Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
  6. Actually, Anna said the above… _________________________________ What about Judas Iscariot? Jesus said he was the “son of destruction” = will inherit destruction. When I was with them, I used to watch over them on account of your own name, which you have given me; and I have protected them, and not one of them is destroyed except the son of destruction, so that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 17:12
  7. I remember one of the Society’s articles on this subject stating: A person who commits suicide removes his problems from himself and puts them onto others. I was thinking along those lines today as I pondered what happened to Sister Suicide’s house, belongings, clothes, bills, yard work, car… She and her husband had owned that small, but tidy, house for probably 30+ years. Following his death in 2019, she rented a room and/or shared the house with a middle-age sister of modest means who was pioneering. I really never inquired or heard whether her brother had to travel out from the west coast and spend time dealing with it…Did her roommate inherit it? Her suicide occurred about the time I was laid off from work, on false pretenses, and I was dealing with my own issues.
  8. @Allen Smith Not sure if you were referencing my comments, but if so, read it again. I was saying that neither Sampson nor Christ were committing suicide. Christ told that he could have prevented his death by calling upon legions of angels. Sampson, very likely, could not know whether pulling down the pillars would mean his death or if Jehovah might spare his life miraculously.
  9. @Pudgy Did you see my scriptural responses, Pudgy? I was primarily trying to communicate with you - you kept wanting to consider Scriptures relevant to the deaths of Judge Samson and King Saul.
  10. @Pudgy@Allen Smith@Anna@Thinking@TrueTomHarley Judge Samson was not suicidal, nor was Jesus Christ. They both were carrying out commissions assigned to them by our Life Giver and Ultimate Judge. Prior to Samson’s birth, an angel appeared to his mother telling her that her son would be assigned a Nazarite role from birth and “take the lead in saving Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.“ (Judges 13:1–5, 24; 16:17) Jehovah spirit was operative upon Samson many times during his life and he remained faithful until his death as we find him listed in Hebrews 11:32-34. Rightly there, among men of faith. We have no reason to believe that when Samson prayed for power to avenge himself, for the ghoulish gouging which resulted in the loss of both of his eyes, and braced himself to push down the pillars in the Temple of Dagon, where the Philistines were taunting him, that he understood that he would die in the process. 1 Samuel 16:14–23 Jehovah may have delivered him from those fiends in that way. Source: Insight Book Samson __________________________________________________________________ The Israelites that were sent into multitudinous battles were not suicidal. Jehovah assigned them as Executioners and Cleansers of the Promised Land. He showed his power through them and removed his power from them as some sort of object lesson. _________________________________________________________ King Saul sinned presumptuously against Jehovah multiple times. He was rejected by God and “a bad spirit from Jehovah terrorized him”. Having withdrawn his spirit from Saul, Jehovah made it possible for a bad spirit to gain possession of him. (1 Samuel 16:14–23) In this demonized state, King Saul became murderous toward faithful David. (1 Samuel 23-27) Saul turn to spiritism (1 Samuel 29:3) A transgression worthy of death (Leviticus 20:6) When Saul chose to end his death by suicide, no one could say that he had Jehovah’s favor. Source: Insight Book Saul
  11. Such arrogant and demeaning banter, Pudgy. I’m really surprised. I thought Allen Smith was doing an excellent job in representing the Scriptures accurately and some basic Christian ethics were being overlooked by his contenders. From Young People Ask, Vol 2, p 307 What does baptism symbolize? Being immersed and raised up means that you have died to a self-seeking course and are now made alive to do Jehovah’s will. Not one of us, in fact, lives with regard to himself only, and no one dies with regard to himself only. 8 For if we live, we live to Jehovah, and if we die, we die to Jehovah (Romans 14:7, 😎 What does it mean to dedicate your life to Jehovah? It means to give up ownership of yourself, promising to put the doing of God’s will ahead of all else. It’s fitting that you make a formal dedication in prayer to Jehovah sometime before your baptism. Then Jesus said to his disciples: “If anyone wants to come after me, let him disown himself and pick up his torture stake and keep following me. (Matthew 16:24) I will ask answer your questions Pudgy — (I am going to Save this first because I just lost about 30 minutes of work on my iPad trying to answer it previously)
  12. Since the hairs on our head are numbered, he is infinitesimally aware of our aches and pains… The Bible repeatedly prohibits murder and defiling of one’s body. As our loving life-giver, He has offered to support us through ANYTHING 💖 “For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power” 🙏 Philippians 4:13 He would be very hurt if we trashed our gift of life…💔 As would be the brotherhood and our friends to a lesser degree 💔 Our fleshly family 💔
  13. Last September, our congregation lost a loving, exemplary sister, aged 61, when she gassed herself to death in her car! She had struggled with bi-polar disease her entire life. When she and her Elder husband attempted a permanent Bethel assignment, her illness prevented them from staying. They were happily married and zealous for 30-some years. He died of cancer in September of 2019. Then her JW mother died w dementia in Feb 2022. I thought: “Now she’ll see what life is like for single sisters w no family in Truth (she did have JW bro and sis-in-law in Oregon).” She was left not needing to work secularly, but the losses played along with her illness and she caved.
  14. Except Moise. He said the other day that he did not have access to the Closed Forum.
  15. Where is your respect for truthful speech?! Every single news report told that Police said that they were MARRIED and FORMER MEMBERS of the Congregation. Why the contentious spirit? Who are you?
  16. @Pudgy@Anna@TrueTomHarley@xero@Thinking@Moise Racette Denver7News did an update tonight. They sound like more than disfellowshipped, but what police term ‘issues with the congregation’ and ‘couple was not welcome at KHall’ might be ‘disfellowshipped’ explained by worldly person. According to JW.org, there are 3 congregations meeting at that Hall: 2 English & 1 Spanish. The Congregation that meets at 9:30am Sunday is the Sherrelwood Congregation. They responded with condolences as was reported in earlier news report. Couple that died outside of Thornton Kingdom Hall had 'issues' with congregationhttps://www.denver7.com/news/local-news/couple-that-died-outside-of-thornton-kingdom-hall-had-issues-with-congregation-were-no-longer-welcome
  17. @Pudgy@Moise Racette “You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear…” But don’t misunderstand, I have no idea what you guys are talking about! 😜
  18. @Moise Racette@Anna@Pudgy@Thinking @TrueTomHarley Then why do we all know… What Noah’s daughters did to him? What Saul did to David? What David did to Uriah and Bathsheba? What Amnon did to Tamar? How Peter betrayed his Lord? What Ananias and Sapphira did with the profit earned from sale of their field? The list is extensive. Isn’t there is a double standard when Jehovah is so honest and his people are secretive and deceitful? It seems to be more a game of asserting one’s privilege and power to be “in the know” on matters, like this of general fellow feeling and concern for safety going forward. Aren’t we admonished to be imitators of God?
  19. @TrueTomHarley Apparently the ‘message‘ was not for you, Tom, because you don’t seem to have a clue! LOL
  20. @xero@Anna@Pudgy@TrueTomHarley @Witness There is some interesting and telling commentary on the TWITTER feed of the THORNTON POLICE DEPT, a local Police department which is one of the law enforcement entities involved in the investigation. GO TO BOTTOM OF NEWS STORIES BELOW TO SEE LINK TO TWITTER CONVERSATION / opt to follow this Police Dept on Twitter. Copied off local Denver news station, 9News.com, online website: 3 incendiary devices found after murder-suicide at Jehovah's Witness Kingdom HallA woman was shot and killed by her husband, who then killed himself Sunday morning in Thornton.https://www.9news.com/mobile/article/news/crime/active-shooter-jehovah-witness-church-thornton/73-d3e16d55-2169-40aa-9af1-896f63ce35dcArticle shared from the KUSA app, download the app today at https://www.9news.com/appredirect/.
  21. Well put, Scripturally based statements….But this is more than a tragedy. This is a strong MESSAGE - inherent in the actions that played out on that Kingdom Hall property in Denver. The MESSAGE is a HIGHLY SYMBOLIC EXPRESSION OF RAGE, EXASPERATION, DESPERATION and ANGUISH!! The perpetrator left behind evidence of this: 1) His murdered wife 2) His murdered self 3) Three incendiary devices found at the scene 4) A 911 phone call at 9 AM telling that there was a fire at the Kingdom Hall I was told that at a nearby Kingdom Hall Meeting yesterday, it was announced that the murder was carried out by people who were not Jehovah’s Witnesses and it was coincidence that it occurred on Kingdom Hall property. This defies logic. This appears to be deceit without regard for truth and accuracy. I posit that it would be more constructive for the members of the two congregations that use that Kingdom Hall to ask themselves: Do I need to be supplicating Jehovah for mercy in any neglected shepherding or lack of love shown to these desperate souls? Did the Shepherds seek the lost sheep as Jesus and Jehovah instruct? Was Justice given to their situation? Both local news sources, Denver7 and 9news, told in their original stories, which have not changed for over 24 hours, that the Police stated that the two murdered adults were former members of a Jehovah’s Witness congregation at this Kingdom Hall. Why else was this Kingdom Hall chosen as a murder site? Why else was this Kingdom Hall chosen to be set on fire? The perpetrator was sending a message to Somebody (singular or plural) who attends THIS Kingdom Hall. Let he who has ears, listen… BTW I do attend and am a member of a Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Denver metro area. That does not mean that I know more than the police on site investigating the case. Irrespective of my geographic location, I am able to hear A VERY STRONG and MOST EMPHATIC message being sent by the perpetrator. @xero@Anna@TrueTomHarley@Pudgy
