  1. The significance of this is speculation is whether the flood occurred before or after the building of the Pyramids. It's a game changer for Watchtower teachings.
  2. David Splane and Doing the Math Do the Math In the September JW Broadcast David Splane gave a talk on the above title. In it he raised the question whether Noah and Abraham knew each other. He claims that doing the math could help you answer that question. He begins by stating that, according to Insight on the Scriptures, we know for a fact the flood occurred in 2370 B.C.E. He lived for 350 years after the flood so that means he died in 2020 B.C.E. Abram entered Canaan in 1943 B.C.E. At the time he is 75 years old. Add 75 to 1943 means Abram was born in 2018 B.C.E. so, doing the math helps us to establish that Abram was born 2 years after Noah died. In Genesis Chapter 11, it gives a genealogy from Shem all the way down to Abram. And it says how old each person was when their son was born. It says that Arpachshad was 35 when his son was born, and Shelah was 30 when his son was born. But what David Splane did not take into consideration is that modern translations of the Bible are translated from the Hebrew Masoretic text, which is not the original Hebrew. But rather, a copy of the Hebrew, called the Leningrad Codex, which was produced in the 11th century A.D. But the Greek Septuagint was translated more than 1,000 years before, in 250 B.C., and would not have been translated from the Hebrew on which the Masoretic Text was based. But rather, from an older Hebrew text, which is no longer available. The Samaritan Pentateuch also pre-dates the Masoretic text and would also have referenced an older copy of the Hebrew. The Jewish historian Josephus agrees with both the Septuagint and the Samaritan Pentateuch. In the Greek Septuagint it says that Arphaxad was 135. And it says that Shelah was 130. The Greek Septuagint has an extra 100 years on those ages in the six generations from Arphaxad down to Serug. Also, the Masoretic text says that Nahor was 29 years old when he fathered Terah Abrams father. The Septuagint says he was 79. The Greek Septuagint has an extra 100 years on each one of those ages. But it's not just the Greek Septuagint. The Samaritan Pentateuch includes those extra hundred years and so does Flavius Josephus. That means there is an extra 650 years of history between Arpachshad and Serug. Noah lived 350 years after the flood. (Gen.9:28) Arpachshad was born 2 years after the flood. (Gen. 11:10) According to the Septuagint: Arphaxad 135 years until Shelah Shelah 130 years until Eber Eber 134 years until Phalek Phalek 130 years until Ragau Ragau 132 years until Serouch Serouch 130 years until Nachor Nachor 79 years until Thara Thara 27 years until Abram Adding the above gives us a total of 897 years between Arphaxad and Abram. Adding two years between Arphaxad and the flood gives us 899 years. Subtracting 350 years of Noah’s life after the flood means Noah died, not two years according to Splane, but 549 years before Abram was born. This is the result if you “do the math” based on the Septuagint. Interestingly, accepting these figures calls into question another statement of David Splane. In a previous broadcast he commented on the age of the Sphinx as dated to 2,550 B.C.E. by historians being wrong because it conflicted with the Bible account of the flood. But that’s only if you accept the Masoretic text figures as being correct.
  3. Basic symptoms of Narcissistic disorder grabbed from google Grandiose sense of self-importance. ... Lives in a fantasy world that supports their delusions of grandeur. ... Needs constant praise and admiration. ... Sense of entitlement. ... Exploits others without guilt or shame. ... Frequently demeans, intimidates, bullies, or belittles others. Gets irate if someone leaves them suddenly. Accepts no responsibility, no accountability. Lies. Can be charismatic at times. Yes, proof of this was at the 2019 "Love Never Fails" regional convention. The last talk on Sunday Geoffrey Jackson made the claim that WW2 was started because of Satan's desire to attack Jehovah's people in Germany. Keep in mind that nearly 50 million died during the war. 10 million Jews died in concentration camps. Less than 5000 JW's died from surrounding European counties, NOT ONLY GERMANY. Yes still the JW's find a way to make it about them. That, is the definition of a narcissist. Takes no real responsibility as an organization and puts all the burden on it's followers. If I got my facts wrong, it's your fault. If you can't accept my abuse at it's worst, you aren't worthy of my abuse at it's best
  4. Preacher had multiple rape allegations May 26, 2017 Their victims are girls between the ages of 12 and 13. The authorities have not disclosed to which congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses the accused belongs. More than five rape complaints filed by children between the ages of 12 and 13 had the prosecution against Roger Abraham Flores Diaz (45), the Jehovah's Witness preacher arrested last night in San Pedro Sula, authorities said. Flores Diaz was arrested in Barrio El Centro by agents from Agencia Técnica de Investigación Criminal (ATIC), where he had a cell phone business. According to the authorities, he deceived the girls by offering them money. Agents reported that the detainee is charged with the crime of special rape to the detriment of several minors. Although the rape complaint was filed by a single person (protected witness), the authorities also investigate other complaints against him for the same crime. So far, the authorities have not disclosed to which congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses the accused belongs. 6. The Catholic Church in Australia is participating in the redress scheme which simplifies claiming for victims, is a private process, limits liability for institutions and avoids the need for lawsuits. Watchtower is one of the few on the list that does not intend to join. They prefer the courts, which isn't sensible as it does not limit liability and is highly visible to the public. https://www.nationalredress.gov.au/institutions/institutions-have-not-yet-joined
  7. The Catholic Church here in Australia yesterday admitted in the Supreme Court that they knew about priest Ridsdale’s molesting hundreds of boys as far back as 1975. Thereby admitting liability. They just shifted him from parish to parish so he could continue molesting children. They have opened up the door to hundreds of lawsuits here in Oz and it will cost them millions of dollars in compensation and no doubt cause many faithful to abandon their religion...
  8. “Hello Nintendo? I would like to report an infringement on your intellectual property.“
  9. The bear with the strawberry tree is the symbol of Madrid. I noticed a few other references to Madrid as well like the bull and the city gate. Which is strange to me because of how we're supposed to be no part of this world and not at all patriotic, for them to include multiple patriotic symbols into their own game.
  10. My guess is one of two things. Maybe someone filled out a prank "contact me" form from their site (these are awesome by the way and a great prank). And the guy should have identified himself and explained as much. Maybe the young girl with him, placed something there casually a few weeks earlier, and took a "mature brother" with her to the RV? I mean it doesn't appear nefarious......just stupid. And that's pretty much on par.
  11. The letter addressed to all congregations that they read at the meeting this week that said to be careful of Ring doorbells makes A LOT more sense now...
  12. https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/mom-confronts-stranger-asking-to-see-her-daughter/983338603 Around here JWs mine the obituaries for easy marks. Intrusive is the least offensive word I can label a common witnessing tactic. Wouldn't be at all surprised to find that social media is fair game for targeting. The JWs admitted he was one of theirs: The person's neighbors stated that he had NOT approached THEM (to "Share the good news of the Kingdom!") I see that he did take a younger JW woman with him when he attempted to contact the 15-year-old, but the situation still comes across as damned perverted and stalker-ish.
  13. The worst 'answered prayer' story i have heard, is about a couple. They did well for themselves, husband worked hard and made a bit of money. Wife pioneered and what-not. They have some money invested here and there, but decide to take most of their money form the various investments and put it all in to a hotel somewhere in the Caribbeans. They spend years planning, and building a resort on one of the beaches, but of cause the husband is away for months on end, the marriage is strained, wife spirituality is dropping, husband's non existed. When the husband is home, he out drinking and making dealings because it costing more and more. CO pays them a visit, and they agree that they need to make a change. So later that night they pray, "jehovah, help us out here, do we finish the resort and sell it? Do we get out now and cut our loses? please help us?" The words of that brother telling me this where, "at that exact moment, a hurricane changed direction", it wasn't going to make land fall. But at that moment they prayed it changed course and head straight to they resort and destroyed it. Yes, that was their answer to their prayer. God sent a hurricane to show them that they must leave the resort. Never-mind the lives lost because of it making landfall, or the damaged it caused. It was the answer god sent. Even as a PIMI it didn't sit right with me. However, they did make great changes to their lives, i believe he even become a elder. I still can't believe that they thought god would answer a prayer in that way.
  14. What about all the kids praying to stop being sexually abused? All the faithful servants praying that their cancer goes into remission? I think its clear God has no sense of priorities.
  15. Serena Williams praised her daughter as her “greatest accomplishment” as she rang in her second birthday with a touching tribute on social media. i She wrote alongside a picture taken on the day of Olympia’s birth: “The last 2 years have been my greatest accomplishment (sic)” Williams and Alexis Ohanian are Jehova’s Witnesses and so they don’t celebrate birthdays, but the Reddit co-founder still took to Instagram to ring in Olympia’s second “cake day”. He wrote: “How has it already been two years? Happy cake day @olympiaohanian. Thank you for being the greatest thing we’ve ever done. (sic)” Last year, the 37-year-old sports star honored Olympia’s birthday with a video that was taken while she was still pregnant, on the day she went to the hospital, where she was given an emergency C-section after her heart rate dropped dangerously low during her contractions. Just days previous, she had insisted she wouldn’t be celebrating Olympia’s first birthday for religious reasons. She had said: “Olympia doesn’t celebrate birthdays. We’re Jehovah’s Witnesses, so we don’t do that.” The brunette beauty, who on Sunday, Sept. 1, Williams defeated Petra Martic at the 2019 U.S. Open to advance to the quarter-finals on Monday, has been a Jehovah Witness since her mother Oracene converted to the religion in the ’80s but she’s only just got more “into it.” She said last year: “Being a Jehovah’s Witness is important to me, but I’ve never really practiced it and have been wanting to get into it. “Alexis didn’t grow up going to any church, but he’s really receptive and even takes the lead. He puts my needs first.” Williams regularly attends church and is convinced she wouldn’t have to success she does today in her sporting career if she didn’t believe in God. She explained: “I am Jehovah’s Witness. If you don’t believe in God — I think if you don’t believe in God, it’s going to be tough to live life because pretty much that’s the basis of life, it comes from God. “And so being a Jehovah’s Witness, obviously we believe in God and the bible. And without Him, I wouldn’t be here right now. I really thank him for everything.” https://rollingout.com/2019/09/02/serena-williams-posts-touching-tribute-to-mark-daughters-2nd-birthday/
  16. If the co-founder of reddit is a JW, is he obligated upon pain of excommunication to share with the Watchtower any and all information they ask for about his company?
  17. After Russell died, people's reverence for him grew. The Finished Mystery said that he was the "Laodicean Messenger," the angel to the congregation of Laodicea in Revelation 3. The book said each church messenger or angel was someone god sent to bring a message to the church in a particular time period. I think John was on the list, as was Wycliff and Martin Luther. Basically, he was being elevated. There was an advertisement in a WT from like 1916 or 1917 for people to get pictures of Russell to hang in their homes or in the buildings in which they met to worship. Some brothers tried to mimic his dress and style, trying to act reserved and genteel. Their clothes were somber and in muted colors. The org calls this creature worship. So Rutherford wrote an article in like 23 called "character or covenant- which?" Basically criticizing this stuff as being creature worship and that it was an outward show of piety, rather than being active in the newly pushed ministry under an appointed service director. Rutherford was a dick and want to redirect all attention to himself. So beginning in 1919 (with both the Golden Age and the Harp of God) he began to "write" (likely Franz did most of it) books to replace the studies in the scriptures. These were the rainbow series (for all the colors each book came in. Not because it was LGBTQ friendly 😉). Bit by bit, he had every vestige of attention that had been directed toward Russell directed toward him as the head of the organization. Interestingly enough, by 1930 a sizable amount of Russell's followers had left the organization, including one of the men who went to jail with Rutherford in 1918. The org had changed too much for them. It was likely at this time that the cultural ban on beards began. Who was the prison buddy who left? So I knew it was Fisher from when I did research in this maybe 8 years ago. In searching for my source, I found this. The source is The Herald magazine, which I believe was publisher by the Bible Students. For the most part, it seems fairly accurate. Fisher urged German congregations to disfellowship Rutherford in 1926. Date is interesting because in 1925, The Birth of the Kingdom article was published, completely rejecting Russell's view of Revelation 12 (as compiled by Fisher and Woodworth in The Finished Mystery) that the woman was the Catholic church and the child was the Pope's peace plan. The article said it was the kingdom and moved its birth from 1874 to 1914. (My opinion is this was a Franz article, beginning his role as the oracle.) Given Fisher cowrote the book, it seems likely he took issue with all these new changes. It seems that Robison also left the Watchtower though I don't know the circumstances. Woodworth stayed on as editor of the Golden Age (with its quackery and psuedoscience.) All the other stuff I have the references to as well, if you'd like. I extracted all those articles I referred to (16, 23) from digital copies of the volumes. Had spent a few weeks going through the volumes from 79 to 49 and found them (and other gems.) The character or covenant mimicry of Russell is mentioned in the JV book. The replacing of Russell era books and teachings is STILL THE LATEST understanding of the 1335 days of the last verse in Daniel 12. That era (22-26) was evidently important enough to have been foretold 2500 years ago 🙄🤮 The Daniel book gives a brief outline of that explanation. and hasn't been replaced with any "new light". Rutherford was a colossal dick and wanted to erase Russell from the picture. In that context, the beard thing makes sense. - Sigh2Sigh
  18. Not so fast Mr. Librarian! Sept.2019 JW broadcast propaganda makes it clear: JW’s don’t want new recruits with beards. Last April of 2018 I made an observational post about a reoccurring drama we were seeing be played out on JW Broadcasting. It was a series of videos regarding a devout JW wife and her non-witness husband named Thomas. Throughout this series over the last year, every time we have seen Thomas, he has sported some kind of neatly trimmed facial hair. I ended my observations by asking the following questions: “Since WT gets to control this narrative, it will be interesting to see what happens with Thomas. Will he finally accept a bible study, make progress to baptism and most importantly...will he sacrifice his personal freedom and style to be part of a cult? The real question is, will WT let him keep his proven affinity for a "neatly trimmed beard”?” Over a year later, we finally get our answers to those questions. In WT’s most recent narrative, Thomas finally accepts a bible study and when we see him at his first meeting … he ONLY has a mustache, a style option we have not seen him make in any of the previous videos. In this staged scene, Thomas is surrounded by seven clean shaven male congregants. The message is clear, he is conforming and therefore acceptable. Despite WT putting in print that in some cultures beards are acceptable, respectable and that even some appointed brothers have beards, they have yet to show this in any of their written or video propaganda. What are the chances in a culture where beards are obviously acceptable, that Thomas would have thought to shave his before going to the KH? Clearly WT still has a bias against men fashioning beards and spend more time alerting their susceptible followers to be weary of men that are not follically approved, rather than child sexual abusers that look the part!
  19. How dare that Mother attend her Son’s wedding! We know that it’s wrong because 8 men out of 8 billion people living on this earth that have the direct support of God SAYS that it’s wrong. It doesn’t say it in the Bible.... it says it in the Bible PUBLICATIONS....
  20. I'm a 21 yo PIMO on the West coast. My family and I attended a wedding this past Saturday and I was completely disgusted by my family's and congregation's behavior. The couple that got married are both studies, so they didn't get married at the Kingdom Hall. However they requested an elder to give the wedding ceremony talk (and I call it a talk because it was 95% scriptures and 5% about the couple) and they invited mostly JWs aside from their families. Everything was going pretty well, until about 40 min after the ceremony. I just finished eating when my dad whispered to my brother and I that we had to leave because there was a DF'd woman that was invited. I sincerely apologised to the couple for leaving because I felt awful that I had to play along with all of the invited JWs and awkwardly leave the wedding so soon. Once my family was in the car, I asked my dad who the woman was. He revealed to me that it was the groom's mom. Apparently a couple of elders went and talked to her and asked her to leave. She refused, so they let her know that we'll all be leaving. I was shocked and appalled at the insanity of the situation I found myself in. This couple isn't even baptised and they invited more JWs than family to their wedding only to have them all leave because the groom's mom is in attendance. To top it all off, the brothers afterwards were saying stuff like: "I can't believe that she could be that selfish" and "Aw that poor couple, because of ONE person, everyone had to leave. She totally ruined their wedding". The indoctrination is insane in this cult, of fucking course the groom is going to invite his own mother to his wedding. I can't believe that I'm expected to feel offended at the mother for refusing to leave her son's wedding. I really hope that the newlyweds see this as crystal-clear evidence that this is a cult. - Contributed -------------------------------- Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?" He said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise... Unless they're dfed then leave em to die." -------------------------------- Their actions are codified as follows: *** w81 9/15 p. 30 par. 23 If a Relative Is Disfellowshiped . . . *** "There is no point in looking for some rule as to family members being at gatherings where a disfellowshiped relative might be present. This would be something for those concerned to resolve, in keeping with Paul’s counsel. (1 Cor. 5:11) And yet it should be appreciated that if a disfellowshiped person is going to be at a gathering to which nonrelative Witnesses are invited, that may well affect what others do. For example, a Christian couple might be getting married at a Kingdom Hall. If a disfellowshiped relative comes to the Kingdom Hall for the wedding, obviously he could not be in the bridal party there or “give away” the bride. What, though, if there is a wedding feast or reception? This can be a happy social occasion, as it was in Cana when Jesus attended. (John 2:1, 2) But will the disfellowshiped relative be allowed to come or even be invited? If he was going to attend, many Christians, relatives or not, might conclude that they should not be there, to eat and associate with him, in view of Paul’s directions at 1 Corinthians 5:11." No rule given LOL, gotta love Watchtwer's constant plausible deniability wording.
  21. Sex slave In Judges 19 we read about a Levite man who took a concubine, she escaped from him, he found her and took her back. He also lent her to a group of Benjamites so they could gang rape her. In Genesis 29:29 Rachel is given a slave girl named Bilhah. Later on, it specifically calls this slave a concubine “pilagesh” in Hebrew (Genesis 37). We also have middle eastern references that show us concubines were not wives. Middle Assyrian law 47 states: If a man wants to veil his concubine, he must assemble five or six of his neighbors and veil her in front of them, and say, “She is my wife.” In this way she becomes his wife. A concubine who has not been veiled in front of witnesses, or whose husband has not said, “She is my wife,” is not a wife; she is still a concubine. Concubines still exist in Saudi Arabia and they function as sex slaves. The son of a concubine's appointment as ‘deputy heir’ stirs up Exodus 21:7-11 English Standard Version (ESV): When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. If she does not please her master, who has designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has broken faith with her. If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter. If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, or her marital rights. And if he does not do these three things for her, she shall go out for nothing, without payment of money. The Bible does not condemn the use of concubines King David had 10 of them. Note:The Bible also uses the word “Concubine”(Pilagesh) in the masculine form “Pilagshehem”. Another reason why this word can’t mean “wife” as some people have stated. This appears in the verse Ezekiel 23:20. Look it up, it’s an interesting read! https://qr.ae/TWymMp
