You take my often expressed sentiments out of context ... In context, Jehovah's Witnesses are the "Best Game In Town", because all the others are so much worse. It is clear from the Bible that God works THROUGH the Congregations. What do you suggest is BETTER than what I have now? Please tell me, and I will transfer in an instant (upon verification, of course ...) Without that ... your arguments are specious and useless. Because that, and that alone .. is where the "rubber meets the road". Humans...ALL humans are seriously flawed. You expect diamond hardness from sticks of chalk.

I have no idea what the "constant feature is" ... nor do I care ... but that brings out the STRANGEST of circumstances ...... I am COMPLETELY immune to false hopes and false predictions, and disappointments of ANY kind, in that regard. ..... Life CAN get really simple, peaceful, and sane.

I am 301 pounds of spring steel, and rawhide ... albeit with some rust and scuff marks. Think of a more handsome blend of the Incredible Hulk, Jack Reacher, and Sean Connery. I used to be able to leap tall buildings with a single bound, but now it takes a good running start, several bounds, and a nap.

Thanks for your reply, TTH ... I suppose that things one learns at an Assembly depends a lot on insight, and experience, as well as motivation. I too, look to Star Trek reruns for inspiration and symbolism, and I don't have to drive 150 miles each way. Have you seen the "Star Trek - Next Generation" episode "The Sins of the Father"?, (Season Three, Episode 65... which is on YouTube) where Worf is unjustly "disfellowshipped" from the Klingon Empire? It "encouraged" me when in order to protect his people, he accepted unjust discommendation without a whimper, for the greater good of the stability of the Empire. ..... insight is where you find it. You are wise, Grasshopper, but the only problem with that is I do not want to run anything. One day an ex-wife was watching me clean my firearms, covering the dining room table, and looking down, disapprovingly asked "What would you do if nobody ELSE had guns?" I turned and looked up at her and said "Rule wisely." ... but I was just kidding. ... too much work.

For the irrational and the sloppy, TTH, the heart determines what it wants and then entrusts the head to devise a convincing rationale for it, giving the appearance that it is the head running the show. That's why there are GOOD detectives .... and there are BAD detectives. ....... bad detectives do not detect much.

I think If I had been in that great crowd of people with Moses, wandering around in the desert for 40 years .... and after passing the same landscape every 2-1/2 years, over and over and over ...and burying my grandparents, and then parents, and possibly some children in the desert sands, I would have seriously considered taking my family and heading North. ....especially if I understood that once we reached the promised land, my sons would have to fight and probably die to seize it from the people already there. ....just sayin' . .... and then, in the quiet of the night, I wonder why all the lands around Israel have abundant oil .... except Israel.

It is my understanding that a Memorial can be properly done with only one person, if necessary. (?) I seem to remember people in prison doing it alone, and with what materials they could scrounge, or none at all. Also I seem to remember that if circumstances prohibited, it could be done a lunar month later, on the next full moon. comments?

He did ... he owns a huge piece of wooded property where the road that serves Warwick HQ Tees into the main State road .... PERFECT for motels, gas stations, or a strip mall. This can be researched through county courthouse records on line.

I thought as you do, and rented a house for eight years, and the rent was $56,000 for the eight years. Then I realized that instead of recouping those expenses when I moved , and more because of Real Estate appreciation over time, ... all I had was receipts and cancelled checks. It is much better to be able to move, with $70,000 in your pocket ... worth educating yourself on the many creative ways to buy a house with little or no money down.

I like the greeting each member of a society gave each other. in a Science Fiction story I read about a half century ago. They would, say, meet on the street, wave ...smile, and one would say say "MYOB!" The other would wave, smile and say "MYOB!". Toward the end of the story it turned out "MYOB" meant "Mind Your Own Business" I think I also remember the Bible saying something about not being a "busybody", concerning other peoples' activities.

TTH: I posted the " ...If a JW votes in a national election ... will there be congregational sanctions against him? ", here, a carryover joke from the "JWs Only" closed club." as a running gag because in ONE MONTH (starting tomorrow) many people have commented about this-and-that in the closed club... as you did just now .... and NO ONE has answered the question asked, even with a simple "Yes", or "No"., and quite frankly I find that incredibly sad, and also somewhat funny, as missives and epistles have been generated to AVOID answering that very simple question .... just as you just did, in the preceding post. I was going to make this a three paragraph long run-on sentence, like the Apostle Paul is famous for, but it unexpectedly came to an abrupt stop with that observation. I had someone once ask me, about my making jokes about EVERYTHING, seemingly, with " .. do you EVER turn off?" I answered " No, I don't think I do ..." and then over they years I meditated on WHY I seemingly never "turn off" my attempts to see humor in everything, and after awhile, it dawned on me why I am like this. It is so hard to extract honesty from anyone ...anyone at all ... on any subject whatsoever, that if I did not laugh about it, I would never stop crying about it, as I have a desperate hunger for honesty and straightforwardness that apparently will never be satiated. Not even with something as simple as getting an official, honest, dependable, reliable direct answer to .... "If a JW votes in a national election ... will there be congregational sanctions against him?", asking it here on these two forums, viewed by perhaps 400 and more JWs, and after a dozen or so unsuccessful tries.

If protection against Covid-19 is cost prohibitive for you, I am in the process now of inventing a device that will instantaneously break the protein coat of ANY virus, and is equally effective with Coronavirus, or Covid-19, and projected MSRP is only $19.95. My inventian bypasses and overcomes the natural or acquired resistance virii have to things like hexochloroquinine, or chloroquinine phosphate. I am testing it on myself, now, laying down on my stomach, on an impervious, non absorbent surface, like a wood floor, or linoleum ... not something fragile, like ceramic tile, and using an asthma rescue inhaler as an initiator, with by head turned to the side and parallel to the floor, coughing onto the floor. Then I hit it the virii with a hammer. Guaranteed to work EVERY time. -
That would make it a gross prophet margin .... I have heard of that!

This ties in with what I expounded on earlier. Everything we can see through telescopes of every sort, is the "vicinity of the Earth". I good thought experiment to prove this is as follows: If an Astronaut is on the Moon, on Mars, or on one of the asteroids in the asteroid belt ... or living snugly on one of the moons of Saturn, does Satan's influence still affect them? Of course it does ... and through mishap or accident they may die there, or in transit. THAT ..... defines what Jehovah refers to as " ... the vicinity of the Earth." So, the "Earth" (as opposed to the domain of Jehovah, Christ, and Angels, etc.) is EVERYTHING we can see when we look up. As an aside ... Jehovah always considered sterilization a misfortune, or something lamentable, so the idea that after Armageddon, we will fill the Earth, and suddenly become sterile is nonsense. There is a LOT of Real Estate out there, folks ... and humans LOVE to explore and colonize.
