  1. (To AnonymousBrother) So you say that Brother Kotsos who was wrongly accused and wrongly disfellowshiped must show repentance not only with words but also with deeds? This is how works the love of Christ in the congregation of the Jehovah's witnesses? And those men who ask from Jehovah's flock commandments Jehovah never gave, how do we call them? faithful and discreet slave ? or maybe like Jesus himself said it : 48 But what will happen if that servant is evil and thinks his master will not come back soon? 49 He will begin to beat the other servants. He will eat and drink with others who are drunk. 50 Then the master will come when the servant is not ready, at a time when the servant is not expecting him. 51 Then the master will punish that servant. He will send him away to be with the hypocrites, where people will cry and grind their teeth with pain. -Matt 24:48-51 You said we are not Jehovah to judge hearts and minds then how we can know from before that the Gay brother needed at list 3 years of isolation to be a better Christian ? The Acts 26:19-21 is out of topic, Apostle Paul is talking about the Jews the people of God and the gentiles.. The worldly people, the people who didn't even knew about Jah and his Messiah. If what you say is true... then we must apply disfellowshiping tactics to the worldly people even today when we go, we preach, and they do not "performing deeds in keeping with their repentance" if they repent at all in the first place. So your conclusion: "Paul's words indicate a "waiting" period for full re-instatement is *not* unreasonable." ... Oh yeah Brother is very unreasonable, because the Apostle never meant your commentary words. 2 Cor 7:11-12 is out of topic also because the organized religion "helped" very much in the translation of the bible in English. In order to control the flock of God they even invented hell... an imaginary place of torture. Same way in order to control the disciples of Christ translated the word "συνεστησατε" that means "presented" as "gave proof" that gives an entirely different meaning to the text. This is the past time of the verb "συστηνω" ... We use this verb to introduce one another. http://www.wordreference.com/gren/%CF%83%CF%85%CF%83%CF%84%CE%AE%CE%BD%CF%89 A Greek English lexicon of the New Testament Joseph Henry Thayer 1881 S C Woodhouse Greek English Dictionary 1910
  2. This question is for the religion of the Jehovah's witnesses in my area. I personally did not post it here in "Christianity". I try to repost it in again here http://forum.theworldnewsmedia.org/forum/23-questions but someone delete it sorry
  3. Because my question became argument for out of topic subjects I would like to refine this question: why someone who disfellowshipped for a reason that no longer exist must come back to the congregation ask for forgiveness and wait some time to be reinstated? I will give you the reason of the offense, because I am sure you will not understand me otherwise. There is this brother called Kotsos a Greek brother (and later immigrant in Germany because he lost his job here) who needed kidney transplant around 1975 and in 1978 had been disfellowshiped for making the kidney transplant. Around 1985 he came back to the congregation and the elders did not accept him without some kind of punishment ( by punishment I mean to come for some time in the congregation nobody to talk to him so he will show remorse for his action). There are also other examples too. In the Greek Watchtower of 1970 page 766 we read about a homosexual brother who disfellowshipped for 3 years in advance. So in that 3 years he had no right to repent !!!
  4. "judicial committees" were held in the gates of the city and later in front of all the congregation."Since the local court was situated at the city gates, there was no question about the trial being public! (Deut. 16:18-20) No doubt the public trials helped influence the judges toward carefulness and justice, qualities that sometimes vanish in secret star-chamber hearings." -Awake 1981 Jan 22 p.17 I think not only we will never have had problems with pedophiles but many other problems would be solved if trials were held in the front of the congregation.
  5. In the light of bible verse Acts 15:19: "Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles", is it scripturally correct to use unnecessary and unscriptural strict rules inside the congregation? for example to press the brothers in the congregation to remove all facial hair (beard) except the moustache? In my area we have very much pressure from elders to abide to any given personal rule (given verbally and never written). This behavior reminds me the Amish community. They tend shunning technology and they suffer because of that, because technology is cheap and makes life easier. Maybe are we becoming also religious extremists ?

  7. I cannot agree more with Joe Smith. When The Almighty spoke through Jeremiah about the future covenant, He said: "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts". If you want to keep a record of whom you visit and for how many hours is up to you. Now if you want to share this record with some earthly organization this is up to you too. But one thing is clear: Do not be good to others just because someone told you you must fill up some hours of visits. You must do it because the Law of the Almighty is in your heart not written in some paper. If you ask my personal opinion ... that is you can write this hours and every hour that glorifies JAH and His king our Lord Jesus. Continue to do good and be blessed !
  8. Who spoke about superstition? you are speaking. not me... I asked you what is the pronunciation of the Holly Name. Do you know, or you don't know?
  9. Hey Eoin don't be mad at me because I want to learn. And what is this ""Unfortunately, 3 strikes and out"" some kind of game in American schools? surely is not scriptural. because you say goodbye and you don't care for my answer. It is so important for you to be right all the time? What if you make some mistakes? you don't need correction...never? Anyway goodbye and may God be with you. 1st strike ... "You don't know what I agree with" ... ok why don't you tell me ! 2st strike ... " Can't find that statement " Is there they say that we don't know how to pronounce the name "Yehoshua", when already the name "Ιησούς" was given to us in the new testament. 3rd strike ... "You missed the point made in that paragraph completely" ... like a good Christian you are why you don't help me find the point ?
  10. Dear Santo, forgive me for my English, I am sure I am making many mistakes and some times I am confused as well just like you say. But the zeal for my God will eat me alive if I don't speak the truth about all matters. If I asked Eoin for his opinion is because he answered with my own verse and I was offended on his behalf. Are we so poor spiritually so we cannot find even a bible verse to support our beliefs? then what we believe so many years? you say : "I do not think that having an 'open' judicial hearing, as you seemed to suggest in the other post, is a wise application of Bible principles or shows respect for the wrongdoer." is not about what I think or what you think or about how the wrongdoer feels. Is about how God wants us to handle things and how we will bring justice and glorify His Name by the way we handle things. what do you think is more good for the wrongdoer, to hide his sin from his brothers in the congregation or to meet real justice according to God's will ?
  11. Why are you avoiding on referring to the bible verse (Matthew 3:8)? And to whom this words were addresses to? to the Pharisees maybe? so in today's parallel that would be the Elders maybe? so when John says "bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance" he talks to the leaders of the people of God ! Because he said this words the moment he saw them (the Pharisees) and continue to talk about them after this verse also. so only from this verse that talks about works of Pharisees meet for repentance you understand that someone must be disfellowshipped at list for one year? (Watchtower 1963 Aug 1 p.473). About the example you bring about lepers in Leviticus , I hate to say it but this was about Israel only. In new testament we find no such example, because these commandments were very harsh, even the Apostles admitted that they could not carry them. In your 3rd paragraph you say: "Spiritual sickness needs spiritual attention. In the case of unrepentance over serious sin, this is a symptom of serious spiritual sickness. This spiritual sickness needs the additional precaution of isolation from others to avoid infecting them, hence the disfellowshipping arrangement." I dont know why you stepping far away from my question maybe because you want to justify disfellowshipping arrangement.... but my question is for those who repent and they come back. Those who want to be with God's people. my question to you now is why like the second brother in the parable of the Prodigal Son you have a problem on accepting your brother who repent and wants to come back, why you want to punish him for what he did in the past? you forgive him or you dont forgive him.... the rest is words and words of people who want to demolish and not to build. Dear Eoin do you want to trip-up your brothers ? Why are you insisting on rules and teachings beyond of the words and spirit of Cristianity? Why so suspicious when we talk about sheep who want to come back? do you think they will want to come back if you treat them unscripturally? if the master says take them back ! who are you to question the master? (they murmured against the landlord - Matthew 20:11) the verse Galatians 6:1 says ((αδελφοι εαν και προλημφθη ανθρωπος εν τινι παραπτωματι υμεις οι πνευματικοι καταρτιζετε τον τοιουτον)). Firstly the apostle adresses the whole congregation of gallatians, secondly to those who are spiritual (this is the meaning "pneumatikoi" and not "spiritual qualifications" like if the belong to a corporation with titles and degrees). And again here the apostle talks about people who dont repent. And I am wondering why so much persistence with brothers who dont want to repent. My question is for those who repent and want to come back to God? I would love to hear from you some bible verses that will not be out of topic. I mean a verse about those who repent and not those who dont repent. Look the matter is very serious, It has to deal with human lives. That is why I persist on getting to the very core of the subject.
  12. Thank you Eoin Joyce, May God bless you. In page 1731 the bible ( New World Translation 2013 ) tells us that the name of God occurs some 7000 times as YHWH in the old testament. NOT AS JEHOVAH ! In page 1732 the Bible NWT2013 show us a picture of the dead sea scrolls where we can see again YHWH but we cannot see JEHOVAH anywhere again. In page 1733 the Bible NWT2013 gives us the example of Jesus by saying that we also do not know its original pronunciation. But this is a BIG LIE. The new testament was written in Greek, not Hebrew. and everything is pronounced the way the apostles pronounced it 2000 years ago ! In page 1734 the Bible NWT2013 gives us the reason why we do not know how the Name of God was pronounced. The reason is superstition. Again not only I see no proof of using the substitute name JEHOVAH. but in the middle of the 1734 page I read: "However, there is no reason to be dogmatic. We simply don't know how God’s ancient servants pronounce this name". So the bible you suggested to me agrees with me not with you Eoin Joyce. In the end of the page 1734 we read :only in "1530 William Tyndale’s translation of the Pentateuch used the form Iehouah" I don't know the reasoning here really. So if William Tyndale used that Name that It must be ??? NO proof again. In page 1735 we read about the meaning of the divine name and that many scholars disagree and have various opinions.... But AGAIN NO PROOF of the word JEHOVAH that is preferred to be used by NWT2013. In page 1736 the Translation Committee of the NWT2013 Bible goes further than just translating. Because there are no existing manuscripts to support the use of God's Name in the New Testament ( for a Name that we still don't know how to pronounce) the Committee invented them by imagining that in the 2nd century the name was erased. In page 1737 the Committee concludes that if Jesus referred to God’s name The Committee is free to decide where to put God's Name in the New Testament. And yes yes... they decided to use It some 237 times arbitrarily In pages 1738 and 1739 again pictures of the Name in ancient manuscripts in the form of YHWH and one picture of the 1950's New World Translation. And personal opinions of some scholars. Opinions are no proof because for every opinion you can find another 10 opposite. SADLY NO PROOF ! In page 1740 we have a picture of the Name JEHOVAH from the Emphatic Diaglott of the year 1864, but again NO PROOF of how from the 4 letters YHWH we got that the best pronunciation is JEHOVAH. In page 1741 we have a very strong proof: so many other translators do it, why not us? says the Translation Committee of the NWT2013 Bible. Sorry but this is NO PROOF ! In page 1742 finally the Translation Committee of the NWT2013 Bible gives us an example of the IMAGINARY name JEHOVAH in every language. I urge you to look how the same Committee translates this Name in Hebrew. Oh is very very interesting. and the name of God is.... YHWH not Jehovah ... sorry Eoin Joyce but the answer your Bible gives is no reasonable at all. In coclusion I would like to add that if the Almighty God don't want us to know how to pronounce His Name, we must respect that and not to make up with our minds fake pronunciations. It is also notable that the Translation Committee dont say anything about Masoretes and that Hebrew vowel points of Adonai were added to the Tetragrammaton by them.
  13. Thank you Eoin, But I am sure you have an opinion of your own. You know I had to go to wikipeadia to learn about your name. My name is John son of the diamond (idis=son, Diamandi = diamond)
  14. Hi am writing from Greece. i read the bible so many times, both Hebrew and Greek and i cannot find the name Jehovah... just four letters YHWH. How can we be sure that Gods name isnt Yahawaha? i read in wikipedia "The Hebrew vowel points of Adonai were added to the Tetragrammaton by the Masoretes"
  15. Thank you all for your comments, but since here in Baeria where I live first we examine the scriptures, I made the question again. http://forum.theworldnewsmedia.org/topic/916-reinstatement-no2/ Dear Eoin Joyce thank you for your comment but the scriptures (Ecclesiastes 7:8) you provided was Out of topic. Dear housedoctor many questions indeed, but you are wrong about the "There is no specific time given before a person might be reinstated". The watchtower is clear : "one year" (Watchtower 1963 Aug 1 p.473).| Dear Librarian thank you for your comment but again as a person from north Greece that I am, I would like some scriptural proof. Dear anke adolphi your name means sister in my language. Nice to know that in Germany Brothers are suffering dearly but my question remains. Dear Raymond Sommerfeldt nice to know how some Brothers are suffering down under. Since you mention that "Jehovah then is the final judge" I would like seeing you using HIS word for once. Dear Santo Mengoli, from what you 've said I doubt if you ever read the scriptures. You say "The elders on the judicial committee, as an act of love, will not discuss the details of the case even with other elders on the body." where you found this on the scriptures? are you bringing new teachings? I suggest you to read both the old and new testament where you will find that the "judicial committees" were held in the gates of the city and later in front of all the congregation."Since the local court was situated at the city gates, there was no question about the trial being public! (Deut. 16:18-20) No doubt the public trials helped influence the judges toward carefulness and justice, qualities that sometimes vanish in secret star-chamber hearings." Watchtower 1981 Jan 1 p.17 ....also read the book new Creation pages 289-290....and the Awake magazine (8-1-1947 p 27). Dear b4ucuhear thank you for admitting that you was an elder and in many cases you wrongly removed/disfellowshipped brothers. in a case like this and because the flock belongs to Christ I think all elders responsible for the lose of even one of the little ones know exactly what to do. (If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea) - Matthew 18:6, Luke 17:2, Mark 9:42.
  16. Since nobody understood my previous question ( because everybody says his/hers opinion, I will make it more general. And this time I want you to prove it from the scriptures -2 John 1:10) : Is it Christian NOT to accept someone who comes to the congregation and asks for forgiveness ? When the Prodigal Son in the parable of our Lord Jesus came back home the father accepted him. His brother didn't want him back but the father corrected the second son: “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found". -Luke 15:31. Imagine the father question his first son's motives for coming back... imagine - instead of making a party - telling him "I will not speak to you till you will show proof of remorse" ... "you must come here every Wednesday and Sunday for at list a year, no body will talk to you but you must come here to prove you are not proud". "Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him". - James 5:14.
  17. Hey Admin, i live in Greece and first i learn about him just 2 years ago, is good that exists piratebay, because Greeks do not apriciate this kind of series... but i am crazy about him i also like Jesse stone...
  18. thank you dear brothers and all the Jehovah's witness comunity worlwide for trying to protect us from bad cats !
  19. My friend wanted to be reinstated last month. The reason of the DF doesn't exist anymore but Elders told him to wait for at list one year. Is that scriptural ?
  21. i had a friend who was DF because he talked to his brother father, and one other because he knew too much for the presiding overseer... you see is very common here in greece to DF people if they know too much. God didnt gave us this oportunity. only the organization knows... i think we should kill those people... they are dead anyway in the eyes of the JW organisation
