  1. Hello QE - I did understand where you were coming from ! [ No offense was taken at all ] Back here in my part of the world this has become a very serious theme among the Bro's already ! "its a sign ...." etc etc Regards
  2. In what way should the fact that on Wednesday morning we will have the better of 2 Dodo's in the Oval Office be a "newer" sign of the end of the world ? 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time. 26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
  3. 1 Tim 2:5 :- For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) . . .For I received from the Lord that which I also handed on to YOU, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was going to be handed over took a loaf 24 and, after giving thanks, he broke it and said: “This means my body which is in YOUR behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” 25 He did likewise respecting the cup also, after he had the evening meal, saying: “This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood. Keep doing this, as often as YOU drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as YOU eat this loaf and drink this cup, YOU keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives. By celebrating the Lord’s Evening Meal, we are obeying a direct command of our Lord Jesus and thus “proclaiming the death of the Lord until he arrives”. Is there any mention of an observer class? Does Jesus, in commanding us to commemorate his death by partaking of the wine and bread instruct us that this only applies to a tiny percentage of Christians? Does Jesus instruct the vast majority to abstain from partaking? Does he command them to merely observe? This is simple order; a straightforward, unambiguous command. We are expected to obey. Anyone reading this can grasp the meaning. It is not couched in symbolisms, nor does it require the study of a Bible scholar to decode some hidden meaning.
  4. Is Jesus your Mediator? Is he my Mediator? Why are the Annual Memorial partakers numbers increasing - offer your opinion.? 1 Cor 11.....23For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. NIV Does this scripture apply to you? Why do you so answer? John 6:...53Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. 57Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” 59He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. How do you apply this Scripture?
  5. The "refusal" by all others present to partake of the Emblems has got to be the most undignified act of all at the Memorials !
  6. Who dictates whom one should pray for ? That's what I ask myself -
  7. So are you saying that he Bro Rutherford caused his arrest due to some arrogance on his part? That's very disturbing considering that I have been taught that the incarceration of our brothers in 1918 was a vital component of the fulfilment of Bible prophecy [as well documented in one of our most studied publications: the Revelation: Climax Book] - Hmmm ...your quotes from the 'Re' book are very telling Ms O'Maly -
  8. I have subsequently re-read the post and have also Googled it and you are so right - Everyone who pays the $$$ will get an award regardless of the technical merits of the production! But this is so unlike our brothers to do such a thing ! I am definitely talking this up with my elders !
  9. So dear Brother Jay and Sister Ann are you telling me that we have been duped here? That even humble 'ol me could garner myself a Telly Award if I pay the $$$ and fill in the application and submit a something and I will get a little statuette thingamy ?? But this is disgusting ! And why I am aggrieved greatly is because a most recent issue of our beloved magazines carried an article promoting the fact that our Organisation had won some esteemed highly recognised Telly award ! [Ok I was a little taken-a-back by the very fact that the brothers appeared to be self-promoting here and of course we never do anything out of egotism and pride but they are after all only human and are not prone to prideful and presumptuous acts EVER! ] I will have to ask my fellow elders about this matter and perhaps even write to the local branch as this is most disturbing. Are you sure this is just not the work of the mentally diseased brothers?? Trying to discredit our beloved Faithful and Discreet brothers??
  10. Oh chill out Sir or Madam or whatever ! You know there is a lot of tongue in cheek in some comments .........Have a good weekend !
  11. ""Fact 1: Jehovah has blessed me with another beautiful wife, "" - So brothers ...if your wife aint beautiful .......you know why !
  12. The Memorial Season ..............the Easter Season ....................the Xmas Season .................... Crisis of Conscience and In Search of Christian Freedom are excellent reads .........But not if "your boat" has doctrinal holes in it of course !
  13. Jay ................you have got to be the most insensitive, un-Christian excuse for a JW I have encountered - Who the hell gave you the right to be Judge ! How UNSCRIPTURAL ! James 4:11-12 Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbour? (ESV) “Do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matthew 7:12). “For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors” (Isaiah 53:12) “‘Then neither do I condemn you,’ Jesus declared. ‘Go now and leave your life of sin’” (John 8:11). Jesus was accused for His insistence on connecting with sinners, tax collectors, and Gentiles. He remained focused on God’s will for His earthly ministry without missing opportunities to show love and kindness to those on the outside. We are His disciples when we interact with loving kindness and gentleness minus a judgmental attitude. Oh....................I forgot .......Jay ................you are a disciple of the JW. ORG ...............Sorry ! My mistake !
  14. Ann O'Maly Thanks for the rap on the knuckles - I should have used the 3rd person as my post was a bit of a rant - And it pays not to type any responses when you are ticked off or angry - Point taken - My reference to time-counting being an obsession within the JW ORG still stands though - Stay well ! Oh....good morning from my world [at time of posting] It should reach 30 deg C today - http://www.kapstadt.de/panorama/milnerton-tafelberg-nach-westen.html = Panoramic view check it out
  15. You see Jay - the focus is all skewed. here you are obsessing about the TIME and you have not told us about the VISIT itself. Who did you visit? How are they? What Experiences did they have to share with you ? What Gift did you impart to them by way of the interchange? What needs do they have? etc etc etc Instead the man-made Pharasaical style rules cloud the whole matter for you - its the TIME the TIME all about the TIME I do volunteer work in poverty-stricken communities in my city - the last thing on my mind is the TIME I spend there - And btw NO ! According to the man-made Pharasaical Style Rulz you cant count the TIME - it should be part of your Sacred Service - If they are baptised you cant count the TIME - So dump the visits to the faithful oldies if you are concerned about getting your TIME in !
  16. Luke 11:46 Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them. According to William Barclay, the Talmud describes seven different types of Pharisees; six of the seven are bad. · The Shoulder Pharisee, who wore all his good deeds and righteousness on his shoulder for everyone to see. · The Wait-a-Little Pharisee, who always intended to do good deeds, but could always find a reason for doing them later, not now. · The Bruised or Bleeding Pharisee, who was so holy that he would turn his head away from any woman seen in public - and was therefore constantly bumping into things and tripping, thus injuring himself. · The Hump-Backed Pharisee, who was so humble that he walked bent over and barely lifting his feet - so everyone could see just how humble he was. · The Always-Counting Pharisee, who was always counting up his good deeds and believed that he put God in debt to him for all the good he had done. · The Fearful Pharisee, who did good because he was terrified that God would strike him with judgment if he did not. · The God-Fearing Pharisee, who really loved God and did good deeds to please the God he loved. b. Whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do: Jesus said that respect was due to the scribes and the Pharisees; not because of their conduct, but because they sit in Moses' seat. They should be respected because they hold an office of authority, ordained by God. i. "Let not the law of God lose its authority with you because of these wicked men." (Poole) ii. Moses' seat: "Synagogues had a stone seat at the front where the authoritative teacher [sat]." (Carson) "The Jews spoke of the teacher's seat as we speak of a professor's chair." (Bruce) c. They bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders: The scribes and Pharisees were bad examples because they expected more of others than they did of themselves. They set heavy burdens on others, yet they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. d. Heavy burdens: The burden of the religious leaders contrasts sharply to Jesus' burden. His burden is light, and His yoke is easy (Matthew 11:30). These religious leaders were burden bringers; Jesus was a burden taker. i. The first accusation against these religious leaders could apply to many religious leaders today. Many teach as if the essence of Christianity were a set of burdensome rules to follow. ii. The early church rejected this legalism when it insisted that obedience to the Mosaic Law is not a foundation for the Christian life. Peter told the legalists in Acts 15:10: "Why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? You shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: The religious leaders kept people from the kingdom of heaven by making human traditions and human religious rules more important than God's Word. This was clearly seen in the way that they opposed and rejected Jesus; if they had opened the kingdom of heaven to men, they would have welcomed and received Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God. You devour widows' houses: Using clever and dishonest dealing, the scribes and Pharisees stole widows' houses - careful to cover it up in the name of good business or stewardship. [A constant call for donations ...mmmm ] You travel land and sea to win one proselyte: Their zeal in evangelism did not prove they were right with God. These religious leaders went to great lengths to win others, but they brought people to darkness, not light. When he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves: Through their great energy they could win some, but to no lasting good to those who were won. "Their business was not to turn men from sin unto God, but merely to convert them to an opinion." "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!" Do you perceive something of your own behaviour in the above?? In this Organisation the RULES .....RULZ ! In the True Christian Way ............................LOVE RULZ !
  17. It definitely assists massively with the gut-wrenching nausea associated with Chemo-Therapy - I have first hand personal knowledge and exp of this ! Inform yourself and if used positively for medical treatment why not use the therapy ! I would NOT itake it and any "therapy" via the lungs eg smoking even though apparently it is a very rapid means to input the medication into the body -
  18. No problem what the lady does in her life ! I suppose she has swopped the Cat-Walk for the Cart-Walk ?
