  1. OH NO! Not my tequila!  Welp; that's the end of the Mexicali Night gatherings with the Marguerita drinks - for now . Agave plant is the principle ingredient for tequila, and apparently they are not growing under the right conditions. Agave plants prosper in elevated dry climates where the soil is rich and sandy-like. Mexico is the primary producer of Agave, but the cartel wars and civil unrest that is currently prevalent throughout the country is most likely a factor in why tequila prices are soaring. Even the State Department has advised Americans to avoid traveling and even vacationing in Mexico for a while. It has gotten that bad [Genesis 6:11]. And right here in the U.S., Agave plants are harvested in southern Texas and some parts of southern Arizona. Not sure if the growers are in the sellers' market, and if so, they might be the reason for the soaring prices. They could monopolize the Agave market and we'll have to pay more than Jefferson and Grant just for one pint-size bottle!......   NOT! Mankind is destroying the natural properties of the earth's soil through violence, mass producing artificial lethal chemicals, and with pollution [wars, litter, biohazards, etc.]. Very shortly, Jehovah is going to "Bring to ruin those ruining the earth" ~ Revelation 11:18 [NWT]. And that right soon! Thanks for sharing!
  2. Wow! What a wonderful display of Jehovah's dynamic power in action! Amazing expression of God's love. He gives us a glimpse of His aquatic creations, just to be able to reach out and touch something as massive as a whale - So COOL!  It just enthralls us! Just the balance of his attributes speaks volumes, doesn't it? Thank you for sharing, Bible Speaks ! Yes! We need love - that beautiful facet from Jehovah -  in our lives daily. We feed on love and it makes up prosper in so many ways; and it's contagious. We can't help but to reciprocate.  Without love, we can spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally die from a broken heart. But we are not without rescue. "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit" - Psalm 34:18 [NWT] And if we do not love at all, we are nothing but a walking band of noise. "If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.  And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing"-1 Corinthians 13:1, 2 [ASV]. Thank you so much for this! I needed such a nice reminder.
  3. Wow; apparently I must have struck a nerve. Lecture you? Ok, TRAVELLER; listen up and listen good. First of all, before I even responded to you I did read those links you shared on this forum and, what is more, I already knew about these cases long before you made it an issue here, as well as the ones that YOU don't even know about. So, what makes YOU think I'm not aware of this happening in the organization? No one said Jehovah's organization is squeaky clean and ever so righteous as you so eloquently put it. Don't even go there suggesting I'm naive. Let me tell you buddy; I've seen and know just about everything the Apostle Paul mentioned in 2 Corinthians 6:9, 10; from Circuit Overseers, to Elders, to Missionaries, Special and Regular Pioneers, to publishers. EVERYTHING! Those who suppose to shepherd the flock were disfellowshiped for fornication, adultery AND homosexuality! Missionaries kicked out of their assignments for immorality. Pioneers swapping their spouses, Publishers raping other publishers, etc. I even know of about a brother who killed his wife so he could continue his affair with a porn star! So don't even ASSume I'm looking at the Spiritual Paradise with rosy-colored glasses on! I've seen it all! But just because I have 37 years in the Truth does not give me license to use this forum to broadcast every deplorable thing that goes on inside Jehovah's organization! That I refused to do! This is a forum to encourage one another. What's so encouraging about what you posted? Sadly, you must think the majority of us here, like Tom, are downplaying the serious nature of these events and we're not. It's just that we choose to find strength in knowing that sexual predators and those who use religion as a cover to abuse children will get what's coming to them by means of Christ Jesus' sword. And that right soon! Second: What is your motive? When you posted these links, the first thing I asked myself was why? Why did you take the merriment out of a photo meant to project humor only to harp on this disgusting tragedy when it is up to the ultimate Judge of us all - Not the Governing Body, not the Elders - JEHOVAH GOD who sees and knows everything?! Judge you? Who, me? I don't have to Judge you; you judged yourself. Posting these depressing news articles is suppose to do what? Make the majority of us question the Governing Body's motives? Yeah, you talk about your advocacy but even that is questionable. Advocate the real solution - what Jehovah is going to DO about those who prey on children and who violate His righteous laws, whether it's the Governing Body or Elders. No one is exempt from the day of His wrath. And about this forum. I thought it is for encouragement and sharing theocratic news; what's going on around the world in harmony with scriptural prophecies. That's what this forum is for. You are obviously not using it for that purpose. My point is that you used this opportunity to negate the photo with child sex abuse within Jehovah's org. rather than find the humor in it as it was suggested, and as many here have humorously contributed to. You took it to another level and it reeks of criticism! It's as if you pacified the Pope to unleash on your brothers! Now, here's something for you to wag your finger at since you defensively done so with me - Q: What do you have to say about those who were sexually abused as children by worldly people? That is also NOT A FUN TOPIC! So many of Jehovah's people were - and some still are - victimized by Shechemites in this world. Are you exempting them just because they are worldly? What encouragement would you offer a sister or brother who were subjected to or are being subjected to such abuse by worldly sexual predators? Would you plaster links all over this forum about it? Just wondering if you would have the same passionate advocacy for these victims as you do for Ann and the others. Third: As far as your personal relationship with Jehovah; you're right. I don't know how close you are to our precious Father. But I do know, as your spiritual sibling, you took the fun out of things and I'm telling you about it whether you like it or not. Get mad all you want to. Go and tell our Heavenly Father on me. Go ahead! Perhaps he'll lovingly chastise us both for making a mountain out of a mole hill. Or you'll get over it and move on. Now get all this through your thick skull. Wow; apparently I must have struck a nerve. Lecture you? Ok, INTREPID TRAVELLER; listen up and listen good. 4. Why are you even here on this forum with your generalizations, negativity, and finger-pointing? Even if these allegations are true, who are you to sit in judgment as if you yourself is clean, perfect, and undefiled? You who throw the rock and hide the hand, are you really going to waste your time and breath posting stories like this to discourage and bad-mouth Jehovah's people? Really? Who appointed you to dish the DIRT and demoralize the whole brotherhood on account of a few so-called child-molesters (alleged - Even in man's court of law, the accused is innocent until PROVEN guilty; and if found guilty, the recompense for their error will come in the form of punishments mete out by the court)? Did not Jehovah Himself allowed Satan time to prove his point about faithful Job (Job 2:1-6)? Time always tells the truth. Do yourself a favor and quit looking for flaws, the small and the great, to justify your animosity for JEHOVAH.You sound like a pharisee who kept looking for ways to kill Jesus. Instead of spreading negativity and sharing bad news such as this, why don't you make good use of your time, INTREPID TRAVELLER (or whatever you call yourself) and go make disciples so they can learn - and distinguish - the truth from right and wrong. So they don't have to follow this false god in his white robe that is full of dead men bones and every sort of uncleanness ( Mt. 23:27). So they can be encouraged about the future; that the REAL King Jesus in his holy white raiment will bring peace and righteousness in their behalf. And maybe, with eyes of maturity and complete faith in Jehovah, those you preach to will worship Jehovah God with spirit and truth (John 4:24). "To this Joab said: 'I am not going to waste any more time with you!' So he took three spikes and drove them through the heart of Absalom while he was still alive in the midst of the big tree" - (2 Samuel 18:14). So now go. Make good use of your time.
  5. Look at the interest on their faces. Priceless! Yes, mankind has allowed deplorable conditions to persist to the degree that sustainable ecologies are impossible. But let this fact not escape your notice: Mozambique caters to the diamond industry; mining for this precious ore just to export such rich resources to foreign nations. Instead of utilizing such resources to improve the ecology, promote clean water, and to combat diseases by enhancing sanitation and sewage systems, the Country's ruler(s) rather ruin the earth than help their own people (Revelation 11:19 ). So, the question is: Should the economic, environmental, and political system of Mozambique stop our Brothers and Sisters from showing theocratic videos of what God's Kingdom will accomplish for these young children who apparently hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:3, 5 & 6)? Does not the Kingdom belong to such meek and humble ones also (Matthew 5:6)? Using videos enhances children's spiritual eyes of faith and is a wonderful teaching tool in addition to our publications, It is a known fact that visual aids appeal to children more than pictorial ones. If you were making a point about the incoming blessings of God's Kingdom before a room full of interested lawyers, what would you use? Wouldn't you use visual aids that grasp their attention, or would you employ archaic methods that are dull and unappealing? Jesus said: "Let the young children come to me; do not try to stop them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such ones." (Mark 10:13). The Slave made sure to include young ones in our preaching activity, and we will use what we can to teach them about their Divine Creator, their Savior Christ Jesus, and to reach their hearts, by any means necessary.
  6. How awesome indeed! What an inspiration to those of us who have both the ability to walk and make use of our hands. The day is coming when our Messianic King Jesus, through the glorious power of his Father Jehovah, will say to them....... "'Stretch out your hand'....And it was restored" (Matthew 12:12) And then..... "At that time the lame one will leep like a deer" (Isaiah 35:6a) What a wonderful prospect to look forward to!
  7. "I praise you because in a fear inspiring way, I am wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know this very well" ~ Psalm 139:14 ~
  8. Get ready. The Book of Daniel is having it's fulfillment. The government and the people are made of iron and clay, and we know...... ".....they will not stick together, one to the other, just as iron does not mix with clay." - (Daniel 2:42, 43) Clashes with authority, divisive political parties, violent protests, financial institutions failing, lying politicians, racial resistance of policing agencies, careless aggressive force against various races; rogue preachers, child abuse, cracks in the legal system, parents killing children, children killing parents, blatant homosexuality, disregard for the sacred institution of marriage..... Behold! "For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power, and from these turn away." (2 Timothy 3:1-6) Yes, this old critical, fragile, fragmented system of things is about to fall flat on its face! THANK YOU, JEHOVAH!
  9. Excellent response, Eoin Joyce. Keep in mind that in the last days - besides what Jesus foretold on the Mt. of Olives, there will be many who would try to subvert the faith of some of us by questioning and doubting spiritual arrangements. Even something as significant as pinpointing the exact date/time of Christ's presence! "There will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: 'Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as from creation's beginning'." - 2 Peter 3: 2, 3 (NWT) "......in the last days mockers shall come with mockery, walking after their own lusts, and saying 'Where is the promise of his coming? For, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation' " - 2 Peter 3:2,3 (ASV) Classic example of this is the nation of Israel: The agents Jehovah used to lead His people was Moses with his rod/staff as well as Aaron, Hur, et. al. Imperfect but qualified men. When the Israelites first stepped foot on dry land on the other side of the Red Sea, after singing a song of thanks and praise for their deliverance out of Egypt, they complained about water as if Jehovah couldn't provide any for them and provide it fast enough (Exodus 15:1; 17:2). Even after witnessing Jehovah's presence and the sound of His awesome voice (Exodus 19:18-21), the Israelites continued to rebel by challenging Moses' God-given authority. Moses was apparently taking too long to return from the Mountain so they set up a golden calf and called it their god who led them out of Egypt rather than Jehovah (Exodus 32:1; 4). They complained about food and how they wished they were back in Egypt to eat potted meat (Exodus 16:2-4). They longed for Egypt's leeks, onions, garlic, and cucumbers, etc. (Numbers 11: 4-6). Funny, they didn't remember being whipped by cruel taskmasters and mistreated as slaves back in Egypt. Even after Jehovah provided Manna for them, it wasn't good enough for them and they eventually complained about that, too, calling it contemptable bread (Numbers 21:5). A group of 250 men, described as "chieftains", "chosen ones of the congregation, prominent men" assembled themselves against Moses and rebelled against Jehovah's appointment of Aaron (Numbers 16:1-3). The Land of Milk and Honey was too far off for the complaining Israelites and so they began to lose faith. Jehovah made them wander in the Wilderness for 40 years until that rebellious generation died off (Numbers 14:26-34). They were not going into the Promised Land with their complaining, doubtful, and rebellious spirit. Jehovah requires exclusive devotion (Exodus 20:5; Deuteronomy 4:24). They failed to give that to Jehovah. Notice the constant theme? Complaints, complaints, and more complaints against Jehovah and His arrangements. Likewise, today, many will arise to question Jehovah's appointed agents. They will question theocratic arrangements just like the first century Christians did because "some went out .....and caused .... trouble with what they have said, trying to subvert you, although we did not give them any instructions" (Acts 15: 24) The apostles and elders chosen by holy spirit had to set things straight respecting the issue of blood, sacrificing to idols, fornication, and eating things strangled (Acts 15:28, 29). We may not understand everything, but we do unanimously agree that Jehovah is the true God and His loyal son is the Christ/Messiah, Jesus. We know Jehovah's purpose is for us, for the earth, and that He has established a kingdom where His obedient son Jesus will rule and shepherd the nations in the coming new order of things (Psalm 2:1,2; Revelation 1:5). We do know we are sinful and we know why we are sinful, and how Jehovah lovingly paved the way for us to be reconciled to Him by means of His son's precious shed blood (John 3:16, 17). Had it not been for this loving and kind redeeming arrangement, we will still be sacrificing bulls, rams, and sheep in our behalf (Galatians 3:19,20; Hebrews 9:12,13; 10:4). It's our imperfect nature that makes us question things we do not understand. Job argued with Jehovah about things he did not understand (Job 9:15-19; 23:2-4). Jehovah eventually and lovingly set Job straight to the point Job humbly acknowledged that he spoke without understanding (Job 38:1-4; 40:2, 7-9; 42:3,4). What is interesting, Jehovah mercifully corrected Job after Job had his say. Isn't that merciful and loving? So appointed men may falter from time to time. Does such frailties overshadow all the wonderful truths we learned about the true God Jehovah? No. What it does is reinforce the fact that we are imperfect; we are living in the last days, and yes, Jehovah in due time will clarify things for us. Then again, with the urgency of the times, maybe "now is not the time" to concern ourselves with specific dates (Hebrews 9:5b). There are other important things to concern ourselves with - like our personal relationship with Jehovah, our obedience to Christ's leadership, and keeping without spot from this degrading world under Satan's influence (2 Corinthians 4:4). So, stay strong in the truth, Eoin Joyce. Let no one make you doubt your loving Creator, Jehovah. That's Satan aim. After all, Satan is the first apostate. That's why he is called the Original serpent; first liar (1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9, 12), and he has many disciples, too.
  10. Yes, you are being - as you say, cantankerous - and somewhat picky. Please be careful of developing a complaining spirit. It starts with little things, does it not? Remember the account about the woman who put expensive perfume on Jesus? What was the reaction of some? Did they not complained about the woman 'wasting' the oil on Jesus rather than having it sold for 300 denarii for the poor (Mark 14:3-9)? Jesus said, "For you always have the poor with you, and you can do them good whenever you want to, but you will not always have me" (Mark 14:7). Just as Jesus and the apostles used what was commonly familiar to both the rich and poor as teaching methods to adapt to their ministry, the Slave Class is using various means to educate all people about Jehovah, our King Jesus, and the incoming Kingdom; from the richest nations to the most remotest parts of the earth. Who knows? Maybe this is the first time these poor Bolivian children can actually visualize God's Kingdom in action and thus strengthen their eyes of faith as they look to the future where they will never be poor again. And who's fault is it anyway that Bolivia is such a poor country? Bolivia's government is responsible for not providing their people with a sustainable economy, infrastructure, and access to clean water and plumbing essentials. Do you not see the need for a real Kingdom government that will end such poverty? Since man cannot provide these necessary things, Jehovah God certainly will (Daniel 2:44; Isaiah 55:11; 65:21-25). Because of their zealous preaching efforts, the 2000 Yearbook highlights that Bolivian publishers have grown from 714 to 15,388! Memorial attendance (1999) was 53,313! All because our humble pioneers and publishers "Stepped over to help" plant seeds of truth in Bolivia (Acts 16:9,10). So let those children enjoy these cartoons they can identify with. Let them enjoy looking forward to the wonderful prospects of what's ahead, and if the Brothers and Sisters are using high tech gadgets to emphasize how real that Kingdom will be, then support them by praying that Jehovah continue to bless their efforts, and may He bless them for leaving the comforts of their wealthy environments to preach and teach the disadvantage so far away. May Jehovah bless their self-sacrificing, unselfish love for His Name.
  11. Questions: Where is Russell now? What year did the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem? The 2,520 years mentioned in Revelation 12: 6 and 14 - Are they literal years? If so, what year would it be now? If 1914 is not the year of Christ's presence, then what year is it? Answer those questions, and I will present you with proof that it is indeed the year 1914.
