In a meeting between core developers of Ethereum last Friday, the team decided to refocus efforts on the upcoming merge operations and delay making a decision on when to deal with the ticking ‘Difficulty Bomb’ of Ethereum. Tim Beiko, who leads the Ethereum Foundation's All Core Devs meetings, argued that the difficulty bomb should be re-evaluated at the next meeting on May 13 or possibly May 27, stressing that the existing Ethereum experience was not being degraded and wouldn't be for several weeks. He said that the best course of action was to keep testing and evaluate where things stand later. Some critics state that this will however cause unnecessary stress on developers as time inches closer to the difficulty bomb. https://decrypt.co/99247/ethereum-core-developers-hard-fork-focus-proof-stake-merge

Bored Ape Yacht Club creator Yuga Labs raised $320 million in crypto when it sold off land parcels in its virtual world Saturday night—and demand was so wild that it caused disruptions across the Ethereum blockchain. Transaction fees to mint an Otherdeed NFT soared to about 2 ether, or $6,000, after the launch.

Evmos (formerly Ethermint), a proof-of-stake EVM compatible blockchain built using the Cosmos SDK is finally live on the Cosmos Network after nearly 6 years of development. Evmos first went live in late March, but it quickly ran into a number of issues, including difficulties claiming airdrops. The development team recovered confidence after tidying things up and adding a few features, including the establishment of a new dashboard to assist with staking, governance, and claiming airdrops. According to Evmos founder Federico Kunze Küllmer, “We decided as a community of validators and on the core team to just take a step back and try it again once we have everything sorted out.” https://www.coinbureau.com/news/cosmos-evmos-goes-live-on-ethereum-network/

CryptoKitties is a blockchain based video game developed by Axiom Zen that allows players to purchase, collect, breed and sell various types of virtual cats. It represents one of the earliest attempts to deploy blockchain technology for recreational and leisurely purposes. The game's popularity in December 2017 congested the Ethereum network, causing it to reach an all-time high in transactions and slow down significantly it completely changes the way you look at digital copies because now a days everything digital is a copy and not the original thing.
