URBANA – A memorial service will be held for Nancy Barcus on Saturday, June 18, at 1:30 p.m., with a visitation starting at 1 p.m., at the Urbana Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1407 Scovill St. Andy Pellimat will officiate.
Nancy was born the daughter of Charles and Daisy (Johnson) Conrad in Urbana. Her parents and a brother, Fred Conrad, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Mann, two nephews and one niece.
She married Ronald Barcus in April of 1957. They were married 59 years. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1950. She and her husband spent many years in the ministry helping people to come and worship God by conducting Bible studies with them in private homes.
Mrs. Barcus worked as an accounting clerk for McGladrey and Pullen LLP. In 1995, she retired after working for the company more than 30 years.
Nancy enjoyed cooking, being a housewife and spending time with her many friends. She faced many health problems over the years, and then passed away at Heartland Health Center, Champaign, on Thursday, June 9, 2016.
