  1. I realize there are many reasons to go to an Assembly, or Convention, and when my children were living at home they would go to others' conventions for a variety of reasons, as well as their own. I would always ask them when they returned home "What did you learn that was new?" . This was important to me as I had to work long hours to afford to finance their explorations and socialization, which I thought was important ... but I still expected them to learn something new ... and since I was paying for their travels, to tell me what was going on. Generally, attendance to an out of town Convention nearby would cost about $200 a day, times three days, so that would be $600. Now that I am retired, and my income has been cut by about 80%, it's even MORE important to me to want to get good value for the time and money I would be spending for my wife and I to spend three days, traveling out of town, to learn something of lasting value .... something worth at least three days of our time, which is painfully obviously shorter, and the what is now considerable effort and considerable expense. In Engineering it's important that the "Law of diminishing returns" be observed so that you do not go physically, mentally or emotionally bankrupt. Perhaps I am just asking for some encouragement that the effort is worth the cost and effort, and that the benefit is worth it, so if I may ask ...... WHAT DID YOU LEARN THAT WAS NEW AT THE 2019 "LOVE NEVER FAILS" REGIONAL CONVENTION ? ......

  11. The public also is invited to the event, which will feature a series of talks, interviews and re-enactments to emphasize the importance of building people's faith and strengthening their confidence in Jehovah God. PANAMA CITY - You might know Jehovah's Witnesses mostly by their outdoors work, knocking on doors to spread their message. But this weekend they will be indoors when they gather for an assembly at the Marina Civic Center. Witnesses from Bay, Gulf, Jackson and Calhoun Counties will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday in Panama City for an assembly themed "Increase Your Faith in Jehovah!" based on Hebrews 11:6. However, you need not be a Witness to attend. "It's open to the public," said circuit assembly media services representative Don Clark. "It's a free event." The assembly will span two days to accommodate the more than 2,000 Witnesses in the four-county area, according to circuit overseer Robert Russo. Some Witnesses likely will bring in additional family members or others from outside the area, Clark said. The event will feature a series of talks, interviews and re-enactments to emphasize the importance of building people's faith and strengthening their confidence in Jehovah God. A highlight will be a Bible lecture at 1:30 p.m. titled "True Faith - What Is It and How Is It Shown?" Assemblies are held every six months and have a new theme each time, Clark said, adding they also hold bigger regional conventions once a year that draw crowds of 8,000 to 14,000 people. This weekend's assembly especially will benefit families because it will focus on keeping them together and the importance of families having a relationship with Jehovah God, he said. Also working with Jehovah's Witnesses is The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, an international religious organization that focuses on promoting good news about God's Kingdom. "We all need some good news," Clark said. 13. A three-day Regional Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Igbo Language has been concluded at Daluwon, near Lagos. The convention, which has as theme, “Guzosie Ike N’ebe Jehova No” (Remain Loyal To Jehovah”), attracted a total of 1,316 delegates to the Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Daluwon is located between Redemption Camp and Ofada town. The attendance is considered significant because Igbo is neither the lingua franca nor the language spoken by the natives. The three-day convention lasted from November 25 to 27. The programme on Friday focused on how Jesus Christ set a perfect example as God’s loyal one. Saturday was devoted to analysing what the Bible book of Job teaches Christians about remaining loyal despite intense suffering. The star attraction on Sunday was a gripping feature-length film on how the Biblical King Hezekiah “held fast to Jehovah” while being besieged by his enemies. (2 Kings 18:6). The convention featured talks, interviews and short videos. A total of 13 newly dedicated persons comprising seven males and six females dedicated themselves to Jehovah and were baptised during what several delegates described as a spiritual banquet. Brother Noah C J Ubani, Overseer of the News Media Department of the convention, told News Express that the convention was for Jehovah’s Witnesses and interested members of the public in Lagos and Ogun states who speak or understand Igbo Language. “There are 14 conventions holding on this ground this year, majority of them being in English and Yoruba languages,” he said. Ubani disclosed that the Igbo Language Convention was first held in 2015. “This is the second in two years. The ‘Imitate Jesus!’ Regional Convention held in December last year attracted only 11 congregations with a peak attendance of 1,004 delegates. But this year is a bumper, attracting 18 congregations,” he said. On why an Igbo Language Convention is being held far away from Igboland, Ubani explained that Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that “it is important for people to hear the good news of God’s Kingdom if possible in their mother tongue because they understand it better.” He backed up the belief by quoting what happened on Pentecost Day in 33 CE when people who gathered in Jerusalem to listen to Jesus’ apostles heard the good news in 14 different languages. Ubani disclosed that Jehovah’s Witnesses started forming Igbo Language congregations in the Lagos and Ogun area in 2014, adding that so far 17 have been formed, with others on the way. “Jehovah’s Witnesses,” he said, “are preaching in 18 languages in Nigeria. This is in fulfillment of Revelation 14:6, which speaks of an “angel flying in midheaven, and he had everlasting good news to declare to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation and tribe and tongue and people.” •Photo shows a cross section of delegates at “Guzosie Ike N’ebe Jehova No” (Remain Loyal To Jehovah”) Regional Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses held at Daluwon, near Lagos, Nov. 25-27, 2016. http://www.newsexpressngr.com/news/31440-Jehovahs-Witnesses-hold-Igbo-Language-Convention-near-Lagos-42
  14. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Circuit Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses are holding a conference, “Increase Your Faith in Jehovah,” is the Biblical theme of the semi-annual event. Sponsored by the Circuit Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses from the greater Tri-Cities area and from areas nearby in Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia, the assembly will be held at Freedom Hall Civic Center, 1320 Pactolas Road, on Saturday, Nov. 19. It will begin at 9:40 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m. with a break for lunch. “Someone might wonder who is referred to in our assembly theme, ‘Increase Your Faith in Jehovah!’.” said assembly representative Raymond Schneider. “The King James version of the Bible in Psalms 88:18 says, ‘JEHOVAH art is the most high over all the earth.’ The goal then is to ‘increase’ our faith in the God, of the Bible and Jehovah,” he said. “Our scripture, Hebrew 11:6, tells us we first must believe God exists or is real. Then it tells us to be fully convinced he will generously care for us and eventually reward us,” said Schneider. “That takes true faith. Those coming to the assembly will learn about that kind of faith and the rewards that will assuredly come to all of us.” The speakers will answer the following questions: Why is it necessary in all circumstances to have faith? How can we increase our faith? What gives us confidence that those with genuine faith will be rewarded? The main talk will be the public Bible discourse: “True Faith — What Is It, and How Is It Shown?” Attendance and parking is free and no offerings are taken. For more contact Schneider at 423-202-5398 or email rjssas@gmail.com. http://www.heraldcourier.com/religion/jehovah-s-witnesses-hold-conference-nov-in-johnson-city/article_80d59544-24d8-52e1-a57d-5cd67f88248c.html
  15. By Wendy Anders Jehovah’s Witnesses distributing literature in Costa Rica, Facebook. This weekend’s 3-day gathering of over 7,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses from the San José metropolitan area was held in La Guácima, Alajuela. According to Wikipedia: “Jehovah’s Witnesses is a millenarian restorationist Christian denomination with nontrinitarian beliefs distinct from mainstream Christianity. The group claims a worldwide membership of more than 8.2 million adherents involved in evangelism, convention attendance figures of more than 15 million, and an annual Memorial attendance of more than 19.9 million. Jehovah’s Witnesses are directed by the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a group of elders in Brooklyn, New York, which establishes all doctrines based on its interpretations of the Bible.” In a 2010 academic paper published by Antonio Higuera Bonfil at the Quintana Roo University in southern Mexico, he notes the recent explosive growth of the religion in Central America. Over the past twenty five years, aggressive proselytism has led to a doubling of Jehovah Witnesses followers in Costa Rica, said Bonfil. Today over 22,000 practice the faith in Costa Rica. Arnold Hilton, the church’s Costa Rica spokesman said that other gatherings are planned for followers living in Alajuela, Guanacaste, Limón, San Carlos, Puntarenas, and other areas of country. From December 30 until January 1 another mass Jehovah’s Witness gathering will be held in Alajuela. And a special JW convention for Costa Rican sign language users (Lesco) will be held from January 6 to 8 at the religious group’s main assembly hall in Asunción de Belén, Heredia. http://news.co.cr/7k-attend-costa-rica-jehovahs-witness-gathering/52594/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+newscostarica+(Costa+Rica+News)

  17. Over 8,000 visitors are expected to fill Rome’s hotels and restaurants for the next four weekends, as they’ll be in town for the Jehovah’s Witness convention at The Forum. The Forum Manager Brent Poplin said roughly 2,000 people are set to attend the convention each weekend. “We hosted them last year, and this year were able to get them four weekends straight,” he said. The convention will run Friday to Sunday and on July 15-17, July 22-24 and July 29-31. Poplin said his crews have already begun setting up for the event, and crews for the Jehovah Witnesses will start loading in their equipment on Thursday. “It’s a pretty big group, the hotels should be full and restaurants should be full,” he said. People from throughout Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina are expected to attend the event, said Juan Betances, spokesman for the Christian organization. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there is no admission cost. The convention will display short videos and full-length movies focusing on lessons of loyalty taught by Jesus, Job and King Hezekiah from the Bible. The service will be conducted in Spanish, Betances said, and targets Spanish-speaking people in the Southeast. Betances said the theme of the convention is “Remaining Loyal to Jehovah,” and it will focus on establishing loyal bonds between families through examples from the Bible. 18. One of the talks dealt with Bible principle obedience, where the importance of forgiving one another was stressed. Witnesses (from left) Eric Willmot, Ronel Grobler, Dolf de la Rey, Cedric Jose Siuipt, Cuan Olivier, Bay Cox and Amber de Oliviera. AN amazing 635 Jehovah’s Witnesses and members of the public attended the ‘Imitate Jehovah’ circuit assembly held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre in Izotsha last Sunday. The programme included experiences, interviews, talks and demonstrations of how Christians can imitate God’s qualities. The first set of discourses focused on how family members can use resources wisely and develop qualities such as loyalty and justice. One talk explored how abuse of power within the family can be avoided and another dealt with Bible principle obedience, where the importance of forgiving one another was stressed. The public discourse ‘How does God feel about religion?’ described some of the fruits of religion approved by God, such as love for neighbours, respect for God’s word and desisting from sexual immorality. The use of religion for personal gain is not approved by God and the talk was based around James 1:27 ‘The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulations and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.’ Travelling overseer Gavin Boddington delivered the final talk entitled ‘Go on walking in love, which emphasised the importance of Bible study and meditation, as well as avoiding non-scriptural practices. Geoffrey Howard (second from right) interviewed Witnesses (from left) Carolyn Daiho, Bethuel Daiho and Kayla Cox about how they intend to imitate Jehovah.
