The Bill for a two-year moratorium on crypto mining has been passed by the New York State Assembly. According to the bill, new crypto mining facilities that wish to be set up and depend on carbon-based or fossil fuels for mining activities will be denied permits to operate. Existing mining facilities and those that run on renewable energy will remain unaffected by the bill. However, existing sites that want to raise their energy consumption will not be allowed to renew their permits.
