Some brothers in Zimbabwe say that literature has been witheld for 5 months by government. Authorities claim that witnesses owe them money. JWs trust that Jehovah will arrange the matters. Has anyone hear about this? Please comment below, thanks
  2. In a very sad case, a seven-year-old boy from Bulawayo is reported to have lost his leg because his parents are refusing to allow him to have a blood transfusion because of their religious beliefs. According to the Sunday News, the 7-year-old (name withheld for ethical reasons) suffered a cancerous tumour on his left leg which saw him being admitted at United Bulawayo Hospitals. Doctors initially prescribed a blood transfusion as part of his treatment but his parents who are staunch Jehovah’s Witnesses refused the transfusion arguing that it was against their religious beliefs. Sources from the hospital who spoke to Sunday News said, The boy is not producing blood and the wound is not healing. A few weeks ago his leg fell off on its own, as it was rotting and was dry. Right now he is only receiving medicine to assist him to generate blood but it appears to be futile. His parents refused him to undergo a blood transfusion, saying it was against their church doctrine. We are not God and neither do we have the ability to see into the future but the boy doesn’t have much time to live. The minor’s mother is reported to have mounted guard at his bedside to ensure that the hospital does not go against their wishes. UBH clinical director Dr Narcisius Dzvanga confirmed the issue telling the Sunday News, It is their religion and as a hospital, we respect their wishes. The boy is getting injections to help generate blood but his parents are adamant about getting a blood transfusion. As doctors, we cannot determine much on the boy’s life. Update An earlier version of this article erroneously said that the parents are staunch Seventh Day Adventists. We apologise sincerely for this error because the parents are actually members of Jehovah’s Witness. Again, we would like to unreservedly apologise for the earlier error. https://iharare.com/minors-leg-rots-off/

  5. JEHOVAH’S Witnesses will today convene a Chichewa language three-day regional convention in the country for the first time in over 20 years. BY Staff Reporter Spokesperson for the organisers Maurice Mapimbiri yesterday said the theme Don’t Give Up!, Musafooke! in Chichewa will draw congregants from around the country at the Harare Assembly Hall starting at 9:20am today through Sunday. He said this was an historic event after many years, and the convention will demonstrate how Jesus’ example can give parents and children the tools to build stronger and more united families in the face of adversity. “Many today are disappointed, but the Bible tells us, ‘Don’t Give up/Musafooke!.’ This year’s convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses will show how we can enjoy a happy life now and a bright outlook for the future. Attendance is free, and no collection will be taken ,” Mapimbiri said. The programme will include stimulating talks, interviews, multimedia, feature films and the public discourse examining biblical examples of Jehovah’s people of old, designed to help congregants to keep doing what is fine and to endure trials. Mapimbiri also said today’s programme was designed to help Christians cultivate the qualities necessary to endure difficulties in this time of the end. “Tomorrow the programme will answer the question – How does Almighty God supply us with endurance and comfort? In addition, Jesus said: ‘The one who has endured to the end will be saved.’ What can one do to heed His words? For these and more we invite people to come and attend this three-day convention free of charge,” he said. Congregants will also discover how the Bible and even nature teach lessons about how to endure, and each afternoon there is a feature film about the story of a family who learns why Jesus said: “Remember the wife of Lot.” On Sunday morning congregants will also benefit from the encouraging discourse Never Give Up Hope! Other conventions have already been held in various languages across the country such as English, Shona, Ndebele, Zimbabwe Sign Language, Chinese, French and ChiTonga, among others. https://www.newsday.co.zw/2017/09/witnesses-convene-1st-chichewa-convention-20-years/
  6. Mar 12, 2017 The first victim of suspected ritual killer Rodney Tongai Jindu, Mboneli Keith Ncube was buried yesterday at West Park Cemetery in Bulawayo, more than two months after his death. Pallbearers carry the remains of the late Mboneli Ncube who was allegedly mutilated by Rodney Tongai Jindu for a church service at the Jehovah’s Witnesses in the city centre, Bulawayo, yesterday. The family was waiting for DNA results to determine whether the limbs that were found buried in four shallow graves belonged to Ncube. Ncube, was reported missing on 12 January 2017, only for his remains to be discovered a month later at Number 13 Westmount Road in Burnside in shallow graves. Speaking at the sombre funeral service held at Jehova’s Witness Church in the city centre, Mr Never Sibanda who led mourners at the service said the family may have many unanswered questions. “It hurts our feelings when we think of what befell us. You as his mother and family are trying to imagine the pain that Keith may have felt when the incident occurred. You are also thinking of what he went through when his body was being mutilated. “Let not your hearts be broken because he felt nothing as he was gone already as the Bible says the departed know nothing,” said Mr Sibanda. Ncube, who fellowshipped at Jehova’s Witness Mahatshula branch, was described as a devout Christian who was committed to church activities. A man only referred to as Sithole who attended the church with him said the church had been robbed of a dedicated member. “We fellowshipped with him for 12 years and he was committed in church activities. He was always willing to help be it in cleaning or anything. “He was a jovial person who had a distinct laugh that we all enjoyed. You could tell Mboneli was near just by hearing his laughter from a distance,” he said. An uncle to Ncube, Mr Clifford Mhlophe told mourners that they should not bother Keith’s mother by asking her about events of the fateful day as she was also not aware of what transpired. He said the family only knows of what is in the public domain and nothing more. A friend told the mourners that on the fateful day Ncube left with an unidentified friend together with Jindu and that was the last they heard from him only to read in the media that his body had been found. The Ncube family approached the police after learning that Jindu sent a text message to his second victim’s (Cyprian Kudzungura) mother saying he had rushed to South Africa. They told the police that the coincidence in the case of Kudzurunga, and their son “was too much”. When Jindu allegedly killed Kudzungura he used his sim card to send his mother a message saying he was leaving the country as he had committed a serious crime, he did this to get her off track in search for her son. This prompted the Ncubes to report that they had also received a message in a similar fashion. Ncube lived four houses away from Jindu’s home in Glengarry suburb. Jindu appeared in court on Tuesday last week for Ncube’s murder and was remanded in custody to 21 March. source
  7. JEHOVAH’s Witnesses have completed the 27th edition of their Remain Loyal to Jehovah series of regional conventions attended thousands of congregants countrywide. BY TATIRA ZWINOIRA Yesterday, 3084 congregants attended the final day of the Harare three-day convention series while thousands others attended in Gweru, Bulawayo, Kadoma, Chegutu and Mutare respectively. Speaking to NewsDay on the side lines of the convention, programme overseer Arnold Makayi said the convention came at a time when Jehovah’s Witnesses believe the end is nigh as highlighted in Matthew 24:14. “These pressures in life make it easy for worshippers to develop divided devotion for our God. So this convention was helping us redirect our priorities and keep in our minds that Jehovah is the sovereign lord and creator who deserve our undeserved loyalty,” Makayi said. “We also have, apart from this convention, our beautiful website JW.ORG. It has all our literature, videos and even news about us. The website is in over 600 languages including Shona.” One of the major highlights was the drama, titled O Jehovah…I Trust in You, a movie chronicling biblical King Hezekiah and the troubles he faced against the Assyrian army. The film showcased how his trust in Jehovah resulted in God sending an angel to slay 185 000 of the Assyrian army which saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem. The film was told in a very stylized way with effects found in large scale block buster film productions. Many non-Witnesses attended the event following a massive three week campaign prior to the convention. In this current series of regional conventions, 15 events would be held in Shona, Chitonga, Swahili, French and Zimbabwe sign language while the first Ndebele convention will be held beginning this Friday at the Harare Assembly Hall. The final day of the convention also featured the public discourse titled When Will Loyal Love Triumph Over Hatred that was met with a rapturous response. As part of the programme, nine symposiums showed how Jehovah God does care for his people in this time of the end and how Jesus revealed loyal love for His followers. There were also captivating interviews that were prepared to help congregants on how to remain loyal to Jehovah. Guest speaker Trent Edison said: “all the parts imitate loyal ones like biblical David, Shiphrah and Puah, Hushai and Ruth, and warning not to imitate loyal ones like the first human Adam, Judas Iscariot were timely for Jehovah’s people today. “The interactive videos shown were meant to prepare Witnesses for the great tribulation in the not too distant future”. Edison added the baptism talk helped all baptised witnesses – new and old –to reflect on their promise of loyalty to their Creator. “The dramas were another major highlight of the convention, helping people to reflect on their spirituality,” he said. This year is the 50th anniversary of Jehovah’s Witnesses use of dramas at their conventions since 1966. The convention also featured dramatic bible reading Who is on Jehovah’s Side? There are over 43 000 Witnesses in Zimbabwe, and an estimated 100 000 congregants are expected to attend the regional conventions which kick-started on July 22 and end on September 25 this year. https://www.newsday.co.zw/2016/08/22/remain-loyal-jehovah-central-pure-worship/
