Police clashed with protesters outside a Donald Trump rally Friday afternoon in San Diego, with officers at times using batons against demonstrators in their efforts to maintain order.

Crowds chanted slogans like “f*** Donald Trump” and “dump Trump” in the streets. In one instance, protesters burned a “Make America Great Again” hat.

Trump supporters also clashed with protesters, ultimately reaching a boiling point when both sides starting throwing objects at each other.

The demonstrations were eventually declared to be unlawful and police worked to put an end to them, arresting those who refused to comply.

At least three individuals were arrested and 18 received medical attention, according to the Los Angeles Times.
