COOKEVILLE — A celebration of life for Paul King Goforth, 86, of Sparta, formerly of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3850 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the Kingdom Hall.

Mr. Goforth passed from this life on Thursday, July 28, 2016, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Paul was born on Tuesday, May 20, 1930, in Montgomery, Ala., to the late Vida (King) and William Martin Goforth.

Paul was a caring husband, living father, grandfather and cherished friend. Aside from loving his family, Dad was happiest teaching others about his God Jehovah. He will be missed by all who knew him, his quick smile, his easy laugh and his ability to talk with ease to anyone made him impossible to forget. Dad will be forever in our minds and hearts.

Paul is survived by a daughter, Paula Shea (Goforth) and Ronald Dylong of Rockwall, Texas; a son, Gary and Rebeccah Goforth of Sparta; two granddaughters, Christina and Ryan Kidder of Rockwall, Texas, and Alicia and Tim Laube of San Clemente, Calif.; two grandsons, Bradley and Michelle Goforth of Sparta and Cameron Goforth of Sparta; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Kidder, Mason Goforth, Locke Laube and Clayton Goforth; a sister, Dara Frost; and so many loving friends who he thought of as family.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Lou Emma (Rosenbalm) Goforth; and three siblings, Jack, Mary and Billy.
