Press Service of Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, 23 September 2016

Hearings on the lawsuit of Jehovah's Witnesses, who are requesting that the "Warning about the impermissibility of conducting extremist activity" that was issued by a deputy of the prosecutor general of Russia be ruled to be illegal, were postponed to 12 October 2016. The judge granted the Jehovah's Witnesses time to acquaint themselves with the rebuttal to the lawsuit and to the 200 pages that were attached to it, which were presented to the court by representatives of the prosecutor's office one day before the beginning of the hearing, although representatives of the prosecutor's office insisted on the immediate continuation of the trial.

Jehovah's Witnesses are decisively opposing the hanging on them of the label of "extremists," emphasizing that extremism is profoundly alien to their views and morals that are based on the Bible.
