The public also is invited to the event, which will feature a series of talks, interviews and re-enactments to emphasize the importance of building people's faith and strengthening their confidence in Jehovah God.

PANAMA CITY - You might know Jehovah's Witnesses mostly by their outdoors work, knocking on doors to spread their message. But this weekend they will be indoors when they gather for an assembly at the Marina Civic Center.

Witnesses from Bay, Gulf, Jackson and Calhoun Counties will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday in Panama City for an assembly themed "Increase Your Faith in Jehovah!" based on Hebrews 11:6. However, you need not be a Witness to attend.

"It's open to the public," said circuit assembly media services representative Don Clark. "It's a free event."

The assembly will span two days to accommodate the more than 2,000 Witnesses in the four-county area, according to circuit overseer Robert Russo. Some Witnesses likely will bring in additional family members or others from outside the area, Clark said.

The event will feature a series of talks, interviews and re-enactments to emphasize the importance of building people's faith and strengthening their confidence in Jehovah God. A highlight will be a Bible lecture at 1:30 p.m. titled "True Faith - What Is It and How Is It Shown?"

Assemblies are held every six months and have a new theme each time, Clark said, adding they also hold bigger regional conventions once a year that draw crowds of 8,000 to 14,000 people. This weekend's assembly especially will benefit families because it will focus on keeping them together and the importance of families having a relationship with Jehovah God, he said.

Also working with Jehovah's Witnesses is The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, an international religious organization that focuses on promoting good news about God's Kingdom.

"We all need some good news," Clark said.
