The Hispanic Chamber is proud to release the 2017 Scholarship application and we invite you to apply! In 2016, the Hispanic Chamber awarded $179,200 to 56 Scholarship Winners. The Hispanic Chamber has awarded a total of $2 million since 1996, in individually and corporate sponsored scholarships to 794 Latino students throughout Oregon and SW Washington.  Scholarships awards vary and range from a minimum award of $2,000 up to $5,000. If you are interested in applying, please read the general scholarship requirements and instructions below.  Good luck!   General Requirements: Applicant must be of Hispanic ancestry and a resident of Oregon or Clark County, Washington; Applicant must be currently attending high school in Oregon or Clark County, Washington OR have attended a high school in Oregon or Clark County, Washington and currently enrolled in an accredited college. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA as evidenced by a certified high school or college transcript; and Applicant must be enrolled by September 2017 in an accredited 2-year community college, 4-year college or university, or an accredited graduate degree program.     Applicants will be evaluated based on their academic achievements, community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience, work experience, written essays, and letter of recommendation.       How to Apply: Applicant must submit completed online application and all of the following required attachments: Transcripts for a minimum of two years. If you are a first year college student, please provide your current college transcript, plus your high school transcript.  One (1) current letter of reference. Letter should be written from 2016 to present. List of current activities and hours spent on community service extra-curricular activities and/or work experience, from 2016 to present. List of any awards or honors you have received.  Applications and attachments must be postmarked or electronically submitted by January 22, 2017.
