Neoclassicism (from Greek νέος nèos, "new" and Latin classicus, "of the highest rank") is the name given to Western movements in the decorative and visual arts, literature, theatre, music, and architecture that draw inspiration from the "classical" art and culture of Ancient Greece or Ancient Rome.

..... I saw some of the other massive art works by the workshop of Bellini in Milan - they are massive (fill a very large wall of a very large art gallery), totally imposing and wonderful!  One I specifically remember was a picture of the Sanhedrin in all their imposing,  royal garb looking as arrogant as only the wealthy and powerful can look sitting in neo-classical background

I am not an expert on painting but the Renaissance brought a revival of classism.

The title is of interest to me because "limbo" is a catholic term which refers to the place where one goes between heaven and hell.  Family members in the middle ages used to pay a lot of money to the church to get family members out of limbo.  Muslims have something almost similar because they believe one is alive in the grave and suffer there (especially women).

Jesus actually went to Tartarus after his resurrection  - one brief sentence in the Bible - which  indicates that the demons in Tartarus now had evidence of the resurrection of Jesus and their eminent destruction because the ransom was successfully paid.
