JUST IN: After being fired by Pres. Trump while in LA, former FBI Director Comey has arrived at LAX, shaken hands with law enforcement members and boarded a jet.

Federal officials: Comey was in the FBI LA ops. center this afternoon when he got the call notifying him that he was fired; employees in the office, aware of news reports, gathered outside the ops. center and gave Comey an ovation as he came out; Comey thanked them for their service, and said that working with the FBI was the highest honor of his life.

Anti-Trump protesters rallied outside Trump Tower in New York City on Wednesday following the news that the US President had fired FBI director James Comey. Protesters decried the move as a slide closer to 'fascism'.
