Vincent John Valle, Jr. of Alexandria, Va. passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, June 18, 2017 after a brief illness.

He was born Dec. 29, 1956 in Batavia, to Vincent John Valle and Theresa Pappalardo Valle. Vin graduated from Batavia High School in 1975. On Jan. 8, 1983 he married Mary Elizabeth Trainor.

Vin had a life-long love of nature. This was nurtured in his childhood by summer stays in the Thousand Islands in Northern New York State. Later, this passion led him out West, where he came to love the desert in bloom, and the colorful rocks of Sedona, Ariz. He was a self-taught student of trees, plants, birds, butterflies, and dogs. And he loved children and all people. He had an amazing memory, never forgetting a name or a face, or the details important to those he met.

Vin worked almost all his life in sales, first in Fort Myers, Fla., and then in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. He won many national awards for his work and made friends from all walks of life. In his career with Neuhaus Belgian Chocolatier he met interesting people from all over the world who enriched his life. For example, there was a leading scientist from Antarctica who brought rock samples into the shop for all to see. Vin also developed many precious friendships visiting people at their homes and businesses as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Vin is survived by his loving wife Mary; his siblings, Michael Valle (Karen), Carrie Ford (Jack) and Christina Blackwell, and by cherished nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 9 at the Waterford Fair Oaks in Fairfax, Va.
