AURORA, Mo. – Martha Lee Valle, 92, of Aurora, Mo., passed away June 25, 2017.

She was born July 26, 1924, in Maywood, Mo., the daughter of Edgar Allen and Mary Belle (Delong) Darnell.

Martha married Alfred Verschell Wilkerson in 1940. They had four boys, Mance LeRoy (Dusty), James Allen (Smokey), Alfred Verschell Jr. (Rocki) and Richard Eugene (Lucky) (deceased in 2016). Martha loved her boys and their wives Viola, Linda and Julie. She boasted that she was grandmother of more than 62 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In 1955, Martha married “the husband of her heart,” Roy Gean Valle (deceased in 1960).

Martha was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1961, and her family is a large spiritual one. As an ordained minister, teaching others from the Bible about Jehovah God and his wonderful promises for the future (Rev. 21:3-5) brought Martha great happiness. She moved throughout the years to volunteer in approximately 17 different congregations and to be close to her family. The longest she lived in one place was from 1980 to 2006 in Keokuk.

In 2006, she came to Aurora with her son Rocki and wife Linda, where Martha had since resided and been a member of the Aurora congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

A memorial service for Martha Lee Valle will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Aurora. A visitation and meal will follow the service at Heritage Harmony House in Aurora.
