Roy C. Phillips, age 89, of Holliday, Texas, died Friday, September 29, 2017 at Hospice of Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with David Black, officiating.  Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Roy was born March 28, 1928 in Sherman, Texas to the late L. Roy Phillips and Juanita (Harvey) Phillips. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. He continued serving his country as an aircraft mechanic for the Department of the Air Force at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas for thirty years. Roy moved to Holliday in 1987 from Wichita Falls, and he was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Parkway Congregation in Wichita Falls. He married Betty Lois Latham on January 4, 1993 in Holliday. She loved Roy dearly and was his loving caregiver. Roy loved fishing and loved the simple pleasures of life: being with friends and family and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Beverly Guymes; and one sister, Dorothy Bartlett.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Betty Phillips of Holliday, Texas; four daughters: Regina Billiot and husband Bert of Plano, Texas, Nakita Gaudin and husband Greg of Wichita Falls, Texas, Darlene Young and husband Mike of Graham, Texas, and Margaret Zachry and husband Bob of Henrietta, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
