Nice illustration at our Quichua Regional 2017 Convention in Riobamba, Ecuador.

???

This is called a 'Chumbi' and is used to spin yarn with the fingers.  One hand holds the bulk wool from the sheep and the other hand spins yarn with the fingers and rolls it up on the little spool.  The older women always carry this device wherever they go, tending sheep, walking miles to milk their cows or going down dirt roads to weekly markets.  They are always prepared!

???

The lesson?  For informal witnessing we needs our tools with us and we need to be actively working them whenever we are away from our home and wherever we go!

 Thank you  @ecua_gringo
