The Jehovah’s Witnesses from all of Italy speaking the TWI language, will be attending their second circuit assembly for 2016 which will be held at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Assembly Hall in via Maleviste, 1 in Treviso on Saturday 23 April 2016.

The theme of the assembly is based on Hebrews 13:7 which is taken from the Bible, “Imitate their Faith.”

Throughout the world assemblies are arranged per area and are attended by the local congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses, their families, friends and those that are studying the Bible with them.

Today, anxieties of life, sickness, death, family hardships, unemployment, breakdown in marriage, drug and alcohol abuse and various other challenges take away the joy of life - the Bible offers hope and answers to these problems.

All in attendance will benefit by the well prepared talks, demonstrations, interviews and experiences which will relate to the theme "Imitate their Faith".

Highlights for the morning session include talks which are entitled: Do exactly what I do, Imitate the endurance of the prophets and How has their conduct turned out.

The morning session will conclude with the baptismal talk and thereafter candidates will be baptized by complete water immersion.

After the break the program will resume at 1.20pm with experiences and a series of talks and symposiums.

The closing talk will be of great value for those who are striving to live by Bible principles and is appropriately entitled: "Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises".

The programme will end at 3.55pm. Jehovah’s Witnesses welcome the public to attend, entrance is free and no collections are taken.

The presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party Akua Donkor has vowed to sack all members of the Jehovah's Witness Church from all government institutions and send them to the markets.
According to her, effective December 7, if she wins the presidential election, there is no way Jehovah's Witness members will work in the government sector during her regime.
She explained that it beats her imagination how a group of people whose religious principles frown on voting to elect a government will eventually benefit from that government after others have voted to form it.
Akua Donkor said this in an interview with Kofi Adoma, stressing that the religious group must not reap where they did not sow.
“When I become president, no member from the Jehovah's Witnesses will be allowed to have government work, you don’t want to vote, who should vote for you to go and work at the government office,” she questioned.

Many NGOs have denounced worldwide the severe persecution of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses that is taking place in Russia.
This issue was also discussed in Italy in two important conferences held in the Chamber of Deputies, respectively organized by Hello guest! The current situation of this religious organization in Russia is heavily effected by the approval and entry into force of the controversial “Yarovaya law” that struck indiscriminately all churches other than the Russian Orthodox Church. An international chorus of voices was raised in recent months in defence of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Five Members of the Italian Parliament decided to add their voices to this chorus denouncing the serious violations of religious freedom of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, Hello guest! On. Rostellato, Lacquaniti, Paola Boldrini, Oliviero and Tieri reminded that
"The Constitution of the Russian Federation -Art. 28- guarantees freedom of religion, including the right to profess a faith individually, collectively or to not profess any, to freely choose, have and to disseminate religious beliefs. The Constitution - Art. 30 - provides that everyone has the right to freely associate".
Moreover, Jehovah's Witnesses are legally recognized in over 220 countries of the world, their religious activities are peaceful and respectful of other people's freedom and of the law, according to the European Court of Human Rights, in more than 47 judgments.
Therefore, in light of the above, Deputies ask
"Whether the Italian Government is aware of the facts outlined in the introduction and if it intends to take diplomatic initiatives to raise awareness in the Russian Government to respect the professions of faith in the Russian territory".
