WASHINGTON (AP) — Many of America’s young adults appear to be in no hurry to move out of their old bedrooms.
For the first time on record, living with parents is now the most common arrangement for people ages 18 to 34, an analysis of census data by the Pew Research Center has found.
Nearly one-third of millennials live with their parents, slightly more than the proportion who live with a spouse or partner. It’s the first time that living at home has outpaced living with a spouse for this age group since such record-keeping began in 1880.

The remaining young adults are living alone, with other relatives, in college dorms, as roommates or under other circumstances.
The sharp shift reflects a long-running decline in marriage, amplified by the economic upheavals of the Great Recession. The trend has been particularly evident among Americans who lack a college degree.
The pattern may be a contributing factor in the sluggish growth of the U.S. economy, which depends heavily on consumer spending. With more young people living with their parents rather than on their own, fewer people need to buy appliances, furniture or cable subscriptions. The recovery from the 2008-09 recession has also been hobbled by historically low levels of home construction and home ownership.
As recently as 2000, nearly 43 percent of young adults ages 18 to 34 were married or living with a partner. By 2014, that proportion was just 31.6 percent.
In 2000, only 23 percent of young adults were living with parents. In 2014, the figure reached 32.1 percent.
The proportion of young adults now living with their parents is similar to the proportions that prevailed from 1880 through 1940, when the figure peaked, Pew found. Yet in those decades, the most common arrangement for young adults was living with a spouse rather than with parents.
“We’ve simply got a lot more singles,” said Richard Fry, lead author of the report and a senior economist at the Pew Research Center. “They’re the group much more likely to live with their parents.”
The typical U.S. woman now marries at 27.1 years old, the typical man at 29.2, according to census data. That’s up from record lows of 20.1 for women and 22.5 for men in 1956.
“They’re concentrating more on school, careers and work and less focused on forming new families, spouses or partners and children,” Fry said of the millennials.
Among young men, declining employment and falling wages are another factor keeping many of today’s 18-to-34-year-olds unmarried, Fry said. The share of young men with jobs fell to 71 percent in 2014, the report found, from 84 percent in 1960 – the year when the proportion of young adults living outside the home peaked.
Incomes have fallen as well: Wages, adjusted for inflation, plunged 34 percent for the typical young man from 2000 to 2014.
Other factors contributing to the trend of living with parents range from rising apartment rents to heavy student-debt loads to longer periods in college.
Many analysts had expected that as the economy improved, younger adults would increasingly move out on their own. That hasn’t happened. Jed Kolko, a senior fellow at the Terner Center for Housing Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley, says soaring rents are discouraging some millennials from leaving their parents’ homes.
Kolko’s research, based on more recent data, has found that the share of young adults living with their parents in the first quarter of 2016 was essentially unchanged from two years earlier.
Median rents nationwide were surging at a 6 percent annual pace as recently as August, though they have slowed since. In fast-growing cities like San Francisco, Denver, and Portland, Oregon, rents rose last year at a double-digit pace.
Heavier student debt loads have sent more young people back to their parents’ nests, according to research last year by economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Other economists aren’t convinced that student debt plays a dominant role. They note that the proportion of young adults without college degrees who live with parents is especially high: Nearly 39 percent of those with only a high school degree were living with a parent in 2014, up from around 26 percent in 2000.
That compares with just 19 percent of young adult college grads living at home in 2014. That figure, though, is up sharply from 11 percent in 2000.

      Summary:
Compared with the total time spent on social media, use of multiple platforms is more strongly associated with depression and anxiety among young adults, researchers have found in a national survey. People who report using seven to 11 social media platforms had more than three times the risk of depression and anxiety than their peers who use zero to two platforms, even after adjusting for the total time spent on social media overall.

Compared with the total time spent on social media, use of multiple platforms is more strongly associated with depression and anxiety among young adults, the University of Pittsburgh Center for Research on Media, Technology and Health (CRMTH) found in a national survey.
The analysis, published online and scheduled for the April print issue of the journal Computers in Human Behavior, showed that people who report using seven to 11 social media platforms had more than three times the risk of depression and anxiety than their peers who use zero to two platforms, even after adjusting for the total time spent on social media overall.
"This association is strong enough that clinicians could consider asking their patients with depression and anxiety about multiple platform use and counseling them that this use may be related to their symptoms," said lead author and physician Brian A. Primack, M.D., Ph.D., director of CRMTH and assistant vice chancellor for health and society in Pitt's Schools of the Health Sciences. "While we can't tell from this study whether depressed and anxious people seek out multiple platforms or whether something about using multiple platforms can lead to depression and anxiety, in either case the results are potentially valuable."
In 2014, Primack and his colleagues sampled 1,787 U.S. adults ages 19 through 32, using an established depression assessment tool and questionnaires to determine social media use.
The questionnaires asked about the 11 most popular social media platforms at the time: Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram, Snapchat, Reddit, Tumblr, Pinterest, Vine and LinkedIn.
Participants who used seven to 11 platforms had 3.1 times the odds of reporting higher levels of depressive symptoms than their counterparts who used zero to two platforms. Those who used the most platforms had 3.3 times the odds of high levels of anxiety symptoms than their peers who used the least number of platforms. The researchers controlled for other factors that may contribute to depression and anxiety, including race, gender, relationship status, household income, education and total time spent on social media.
Primack, who also is a professor of medicine at Pitt, emphasized that the directionality of the association is unclear.
"It may be that people who suffer from symptoms of depression or anxiety, or both, tend to subsequently use a broader range of social media outlets. For example, they may be searching out multiple avenues for a setting that feels comfortable and accepting," said Primack. "However, it could also be that trying to maintain a presence on multiple platforms may actually lead to depression and anxiety. More research will be needed to tease that apart."
Primack and his team propose several hypotheses as to why multi-platform social media use may drive depression and anxiety:
Multitasking, as would happen when switching between platforms, is known to be related to poor cognitive and mental health outcomes. The distinct set of unwritten rules, cultural assumptions and idiosyncrasies of each platform are increasingly difficult to navigate when the number of platforms used rises, which could lead to negative mood and emotions. There is more opportunity to commit a social media faux pas when using multiple platforms, which can lead to repeated embarrassments. "Understanding the way people are using multiple social media platforms and their experiences within those platforms -- as well as the specific type of depression and anxiety that social media users experience -- are critical next steps," said co-author and psychiatrist César G. Escobar-Viera, M.D., Ph.D., a postdoctoral research associate at Pitt's Health Policy Institute and at CRMTH. "Ultimately, we want this research to help in designing and implementing educational public health interventions that are as personalized as possible."

The Codex Leningrad B 19A, of the 11th century C.E., vowel points the Tetragrammaton to read Yehwahʹ, Yehwihʹ, and Yeho·wahʹ. Ginsburg’s edition of the Masoretic text vowel points the divine name to read Yeho·wahʹ. (Ge 3:14, ftn) Hebrew scholars generally favor “Yahweh” as the most likely pronunciation. They point out that the abbreviated form of the name is Yah (Jah in the Latinized form), as at Psalm 89:8 and in the expression Ha·lelu-Yahʹ (meaning “Praise Jah, you people!”). (Ps 104:35; 150:1, 6) Also, the forms Yehohʹ, Yoh, Yah, and Yaʹhu, found in the Hebrew spelling of the names Jehoshaphat, Joshaphat, Shephatiah, and others, can all be derived from Yahweh. Greek transliterations of the name by early Christian writers point in a somewhat similar direction with spellings such as I·a·beʹ and I·a·ou·eʹ, which, as pronounced in Greek, resemble Yahweh. Still, there is by no means unanimity among scholars on the subject, some favoring yet other pronunciations, such as “Yahuwa,” “Yahuah,” or “Yehuah.”
Since certainty of pronunciation is not now attainable, there seems to be no reason for abandoning in English the well-known form “Jehovah” in favor of some other suggested pronunciation. If such a change were made, then, to be consistent, changes should be made in the spelling and pronunciation of a host of other names found in the Scriptures: Jeremiah would be changed to Yir·meyahʹ, Isaiah would become Yeshaʽ·yaʹhu, and Jesus would be either Yehoh·shuʹaʽ (as in Hebrew) or I·e·sousʹ (as in Greek). The purpose of words is to transmit thoughts; in English the name Jehovah identifies the true God, transmitting this thought more satisfactorily today than any of the suggested substitutes.

      “HOW WILL CHANGE COME?”

POSTED ON MAY 31, 2020BY CONTRIBUTORPOSTED IN IN THE NEWSTAGGED GEORGE FLOYD, POLICE, PROTESTS, RACIAL EQUALITY, THE ANSWEREDIT In a few short minutes you can easily understand what the near future holds as described by men who were inspired by God to describe it to you.
Every race has individuals who hate. Will protesting bring any real change? Why do people hate seeing how George Floyd was murdered? Because God instilled in every human the desire for equality, a desire for a long peaceful life without pain and suffering. Would God instill that in humans if they could never live to enjoy it? NO, God’s purpose is for humans to live forever on a paradisaic Earth as they enjoy a relationship with Him and many others who will live in Peace and Security. Jehovah God does not see us as Black, White, Asian or Indian, Jehovah sees us as we are inside our minds, the inner person. Our bodies are only the generator that gives the mind power to think, to interact with our God. Jehovah created every race, in the proper light, we can see that this beautiful variety is a loving provision of God. Adam and Eve interrupted God’s Timeline for an Edenic Earth, but they did not force God to change His purpose for the Earth and humans. Now that billions live on Earth, How will people who hate others be singled out and removed from society? For six thousand years they have murdered their brothers, over and over again! One of the first men born on Earth murdered his own brother! How will change come? How can men like that be sorted out and how can violence be stopped?
The Only Almighty God, Jehovah, inspired the Bible to give you the answer. What does the Bible say will happen to bring real change, Equality, Peace on Earth for every man, woman and child?
Instead of changing the world, while on Earth, Jesus taught his followers to pray for God’s solution. Matthew 6:9,10 “You must pray, then, this way:“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.10 Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.”” He told them there would come a “special day”, a day that was set by his Heavenly Father Jehovah. Matthew 24:36 states “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father”. What will occur on that day? Earlier in the chapter Jesus stated :
FIRST: VS:14 And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
SECOND: VS:21 for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.
THIRD VS:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.30 Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 And he will send out his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity.
Jesus taught his followers that God would set up a “Government in Heaven”(God’s Kingdom) that will change the way people live on Earth. This is the “Good News”. Jesus taught them that the Good News would be preached in all the inhabited Earth just before the great tribulation and then the “Great Day of God Almighty”.
Why did the Good News have to be preached Earthwide? The Good News has to sides: ONE it comforts every one who seeks God’s Kingdom with real hope that is given us by God Himself: Hope they may never die, Hope they will have their body, health, youth and vigor restored, Hope they will see their dead loved ones resurrected here to life again, Hope they will be given their own land on which to build their own homes and gardens, Hope they will be able to travel the whole Earth and enjoy all that God has created for them to enjoy, Hope they will come to know the intimate person of God in even greater ways and be involved in doing His will forever! TWO: the Good News is used by God to warn every person who would turn away from His Will. This is just, on His part, to warn every adult before he ends their consciousness of life. He will judge every adult on Earth by their response to this Good News and their past and current actions and attitudes, then at His Command many angels will descend from Heaven ,at the hands of one of His mighty angels most of Earths inhabitants will be destroyed. See Matthew 13:36-43:
FOURTH: CHAPTER 13:36 Then after dismissing the crowds, he went into the house. His disciples came to him and said: “Explain to us the illustration of the weeds in the field.”37 In response he said: “The sower of the fine seed is the Son of man;38 the field is the world. As for the fine seed, these are the sons of the Kingdom, but the weeds are the sons of the wicked one,39 and the enemy who sowed them is the Devil. The harvest is a conclusion of a system of things, and the reapers are angels.40 Therefore, just as the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be in the conclusion of the system of things.41 The Son of man will send his angels, and they will collect out from his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling and people who practice lawlessness,42 and they will pitch them into the fiery furnace. There is where their weeping and the gnashing of their teeth will be.43 At that time the righteous ones will shine as brightly as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Let the one who has ears listen.
The Almighty God Jehovah is able to read our thoughts,to see what we see, hear what we hear, feel what we feel, to know who we real are and our motivations. He read Cain’s thoughts about Abel his brother, He warned Cain before Cain murdered his brother, Cain was not detoured, his jealousy motivated him to kill his own brother. This is how God can bring about change: While under His Kingdom rule, His Spirit will examine the alarming bad thoughts when they arise, He will prevent anyone who would harm someone else in all the Earth, unlike today as we live this life outside His Kingdom rule. There will no longer be any need for police, for if someone decides they no longer want the beautiful life God promises us, you will only notice they are gone, you will look at their place and they just won’t be. Peace continues for everyone else! We will be truly free of the fear someone else can harm us, free on any harm or death! Praise Jah!
King Solomon foretold at Proverbs 2:21 For only the upright will reside in the earth,And the blameless will remain in it. 22 As for the wicked, they will be cut off from the earth,And the treacherous will be torn away from it.
King David foretold at Psalms 37:10 Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were,And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth,And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. vs:29 The righteous will possess the earth,And they will live forever on it.
Psalms 34:16 But the face of Jehovah is against those doing what is bad,To erase all memory of them from the earth
Jesus foretold at Matthew 5:3 “Happy are the mild-tempered (meek), since they will inherit the earth.
FIFTH After those ignoring Jehovah are removed from the Earth there are only those doing His will remaining. They are foretold to be survivors of the Great Day of God Almighty, they survive as the first citizens of God’s Kingdom. Daniel 12:1“During that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of your people. And there will occur a time of distress such as has not occurred since there came to be a nation until that time. And during that time your people will escape, everyone who is found written down in the book. Yes, because they exercised Faith in God and did His Will by “preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom” and educated themselves about the many facets of belief in God and what He expects of humans, their names are written in God’s Book.
Jehovah’s Witnesses have been preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom for more than 120 years. There is STRONG EVIDENCE that the preaching has been accomplished Earthwide, yet in a spirit of thoroughness, Jehovah mercifully continues to keep calling to anyone who’s heart impels them to search for the truth, today He will let Himself be found by you until His Great Day Dawns. THEN the open door will be shut suddenly. There is prophetic evidence that Earths rulers will SOON be changed, then the SECOND aspect will burst into reality for Earth’s Inhabitants. NOW is the time to ACT! CHANGE IS COMING TO THE EARTH! WILL YOUR NAME BE FOUND IN GOD’S BOOK OF HIS FAITHFUL WITNESSES? WILL ANGELS DESCEND TO HARM OR PROTECT YOU?
In conclusion, we can see God has set a day that “HE” will change the way mankind is governed. Those approaching God must seek the government that God will use to change from what we see in the world today to a planet of peaceful people, each on their own lot, praising God and lovingly respecting every other person as a worshiper of Jehovah, wanting to live forever in Peace and Security. How can we seek the Kingdom of God? How can we have our names written in God’s Book as faithful ones seeking His Guidance? Jehovah uses One Group of people today, we only have to look around the world to see who are preaching the Good News, Door to Door, in all the inhabited Earth as foretold at Matthew 24:14 as we first considered “And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.“
Only Jehovah’s Witnesses are doing the expressed will of God, Announcing Jehovah’s Kingdom as they go door to door preaching the “Good News of God’s Kingdom” to all the inhabitants on Earth. We invite you to careful examine all our beliefs that are guaranteed by God Himself. Every belief has a foundation found in the written word of God. Join us as we seek first the Kingdom of God as the solution to mankind’s problems!
