In a World Where You Can Be Anything...Be Kind! ????? “Carry on with one another loving-kindness.”—ZECHARIAH 7:9. For one thing, “a man of loving-kindness is dealing rewardingly with his own soul.” (Proverbs 11:17) How true! Showing loving-kindness, or loyal love, forges warm and lasting bonds with others. As a result, we will have loyal friends—a precious reward indeed!—Proverbs 18:24. “He that is pursuing righteousness and loving-kindness will find life.” (Proverbs 21:21) Yes, our pursuing loving-kindness will endear us to God and will put us in line for future blessings, including life everlasting. It is faith-strengthening to reflect on the evidence that Jehovah helps his people. What he did in the past gives us basis for confidence. No matter what challenges we may be facing now or may yet encounter in the future, we too can put full trust in Jehovah as our “Provider of escape.”Â

Pilate's dedication to promoting Roman religion in Judea is reflected in the coins he struck during his term. The coinage produced between 29 and 31 AD had pagan symbols in the form of sacred vessels of the type found in other parts of the Roman Empire. None of Pilate's successors in Judea used these pagan symbols of worship. This example here shows a simpulum or ritual ladle. THE 'MONKEY ORCHID' LOOKS LIKE A MONKEY! - I Love Orchids!! - Had to post! ~ This is the rare Monkey Orchid, found only in high elevations of Ecuador and Peru. The primate-esque flowers are formally known as Analysis: The photo is real — this orchid does exist, and the colorful center of the flower does resemble the face of a monkey or baboon — but the captions above are only semi-correct. The actual species name is Dracula gigas (Dracula meaning "dragon," gigas meaning "giant"), not Dracula simia. The latter is also a real species, and its flower resembles a monkey face as well (as do several other members of the Dracula genus), but it's not the same orchid pictured above. Nor, despite its appearance, is the common name of the pictured flower "Monkey Orchid." That distinction belongs to yet another species, Orchis simia, whose purple flowers resemble a monkey's torso (there is also a "Monkeyface Orchid," Platanthera integrilabia). There are over 20,000 species of orchids, many of which are visually reminiscent of other creatures and sundry inanimate objects, both natural and man-made. "Orchids have diverse and unflowerlike looks," observed Susan Orlean in her 1988 book, The Orchid Thief (New York: Ballantine). "One species looks just like a German shepherd dog with its tongue sticking out. One species looks like an onion. One looks like an octopus. One looks like a human nose.
